My Magic Mouse 2 took 3 to 4 hours to recharge after the first battery low warning.
It would then last about 6 weeks from fully charged with average 4 hours daily use. The mouse was turned off when not in use.
The only way I have found to check the state of charge is using system preferences.
I got fed up with this and started using a Microsoft wireless mouse which takes 2 AA Batteries.
Using Alkaline batteries from a well know manufacturer this will last 11 to 12 weeks.
Using rechargeable batteries from the same manufacturer takes about 3 hours to recharge from the battery low warning and a charge still lasts about 11 to 12 weeks. This mouse does not have an on / off switch. The big advantage is I have two sets of rechargeable batteries and so there is no down time.

  • System Preferences > Bluetooth > select option to “Show Bluetooth icon in toolbar.” Then just click the icon in the upper right, and you can easily see the battery level for each connected Bluetooth device.
