Not if it's an iPhone 3G.
The manual says just plug in your iPhone. Nothing on the box says anything about iPhone compatability. Apple Store people where I bought it did not mention this restriction. Only in the product overview does it say " iPhone 3G is not supported."

  • It would appear that way. Apple mentioned specifically:

"The Camera Connector features a USB interface. Just plug it into the dock connector port on your iPad, then attach your digital camera or iPhone using a USB cable (not included)."

I would guess that the software is designed to find your picture files and allow you to copy them from your iPhone.
