Can this display be connected to a MAC Pro (late 2013) with some sort of thunderbolt 2 to thunderbolt 3 adapter?

Did not work for me. Neither did the Thunderbolt 3 to AV multiport adapter.

I tried using the Apple USB-C to Thunderbolt adaptor with a Thunderbolt 2 cable from my Mac Pro to this display but no joy. Maybe the adaptor is bad. I switched out the Thunderbolt cable and still no joy waiting for a new adaptor USB-C to Thunderbolt adaptor.

Supported displays and configurations
You can use 4K displays and Ultra HD TVs with these Mac computers.
MacBook Pro (Retina, Late 2013) and later
Mac Pro (Late 2013)
iMac (27-inch, Late 2013) and later
Mac mini (Late 2014)
MacBook Air (Early 2015)
MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, Early 2015) and later
If you read the list, the Mac Pro is compatible, as long as you have a Thunderbolt 2 - Thunderbolt 3 cable

Yes, with the Apple Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter (you would also need a Thunderbolt 2 cable).
