Do i have to have airport

I'm getting a mac soon and a wireless printer will i have to to have airport to airprint if i already have a wireless router?

    right, if the printer has been designated as airprint compatible then you will not need this as your mac will find it on your network. However if the printer is not airprint designated then yes you will probably require one. the manufacturers book would tell you if the printer is wifi or not but even if it is, there is no guarantees your mac will communicate with it properly - i had this issue using my router with my kodak, it didnt work unless i used my airport express, cannot explain why

    my advice buy a proper airprint printer from apple store and save costs of airport express
