Is an Ethernet to Thunderbolt adapter superior to an Ethernet to USB 3.0 adapter, even if both are capable of gigabit speeds?
I connect my mid 2013 Macbook Air to Ethernet using Apple's Thunderbolt adapter. I also need to connect with a display monitor using a VGA connection. I also have an Apple Mini-DisplayPort to VGA adapter. I'd like to connect via ethernet while using my display monitor without sacrificing gigabit speed (ex. Apple's USB to Ethernet adapter only supports 10/100BASE-T). What is the ideal configuration to achieve this? USB 3.0 to Ethernet, VGA to USB 3.0, etc. Any suggestions would be great, thanks.
