do i have to have satellite tv to have apple tv

i have Dish Network, If I want Apple TV, Do I keep Dish Network, does Apple TV work With Dish Network, or is it replacing my Dish Network? I am mainly interested because of HomeKit, which i need to control my home.

    No you don't have to have a satellite to have a Apple TV
