Can I upgrade storage on a Macbook Pro from 121 GB flash storage to 500 GB after time of purchase?

I have a Mid 2014 Macbook Pro 13 inch with Retina Display. I also only have 121 GB flash storage which I didn't think about upgrading at the time of purchase. I have no problem with buying an external hard drive, but If i take it to the apple store, could they switch out my 121 GB flash storage for a 500 GB?

Since it is a retina Macbook the answer is no. The components are soldered to the motherboard making it undoable. Id recommend an external hard drive.
