Would this cable work with the new Apple MacBook to connect Apple’s SuperDrive to connect the USB since the 12” MacBook does not have a built-in USB?
I want to purchase a MacBook, but I have the CD/DVD super drive to transfer my CD’s into iTunes and watch movies on the laptop. Is this the cord I want for that to work or is there another or is that just not possible with the new 12” MacBook?

Would this adaptor allow me to charge the Macbook via an external battery?
I recently bought the Macbook but sometimes when I am out for the day the battery just doesn't last, I do have an external batter that I use to power my iPhone when I am on the go but that only has USB connections. If I were to use this and the use a USB to USB cable to my external battery, would it charge the Macbook?

Can I use the USB-C to USB adapter to transfer data from my old MacBook Air to my new Macbook.
Migration Assistant failed over Wi-Fi, and I still have a large photo library to move across to the new MacBook. The Apple Store suggested using Airdrop which is very limited/fragile when transferring a large number of photos - I think maybe I got the junior genius!

Does this adapter allow you to read an old USB2 hard drive?
I am unable to migrate from an old time machine drive using this adapter. The drive does not show up in the list of sources. The drive mounts on another computer just fine.
