    Aluminum + Apple = Yummy

I bought the keyboard, admittedly, because it matches my Apple Cinema Display and PowerMac really well (in other words, its sexy). But it feels sexy too. Trust me, if you can type, you will love this even more! I can type 75 to 100WPM and this keyboard keeps up no problem.

I also have no problem syncing my iPod shuffle on it. Haven't tried my full size iPod yet - I've read that it doesn't work. I have a feeling it will. :)

    Slick And Functional!

as a programmer i spend a lot of time jamming on my board - i'm thrilled by the softer keys, the built in expose and iTunes function keys (although i do need my F12 regularly ;)).
I've got the new keyboard paired with the last generation imac - still looks good altogether, ha.
Love the slim profile, makes my desk feel less cluttered, which in turns frees my mind a bit more to focus on the work at hand.
    excellent product!

    LOVE IT!

I bought this keyboard after losing my right shift key on my old Apple keyboard and deciding that it was about time anyway to upgrade. So i bought myself and holiday gift. The second i started using it i couldn't stop. Its just that amazing.

    Excellent keyboard

I've had this keyboard for about a day and it is so nice to type on. The time it took to get use to it wasn't more than 30 minutes. The keys have a nice tactile feel and are spaced so that you don't tend to hit the wrong key while typing. The low angle it forms with the desk top makes it much easier on your wrist which is great if you have problems with arthritis like I do. It also seems to be well made and is surprisingly heavy for something this thin.

I would recommend this keyboard to anyone.

I am very pleased with it (except for one point)

I spilled coffee on my old keyboard (FYI: not good to do). I tried my best to clean it, but to no avail.

I almost ordered another keyboard (an ergonomic keyboard), then read a review that the other keyboard didn't have a numeric keypad. That wasn't acceptable.

Then I found this keyboard. Reasonably inexpensive. I bought it.

    It is a great keyboard.

    Good points:
    19 function keys!
Useful icons on some of the function keys (Dashboard, Exposé, etc. In other words, made for Mac OS X)
    Unbelievably slim
    Aesthetically pleasing

    Bad point:
The USB ports on the keyboard are off of the ends instead of the back. Not good for my USB memory stick.

But the Good points far outweigh the Bad points. Bottom line: I'm very happy with my purchase.

    great keyboard

I really liked the look of this keyboard, but that's not the reason to get it. The feel is better than any one I have ever used before. I'm not good at typing and just going to this keyboard made an improvement. The controls are simple and useful, volume etc. it's not too expensive, and well worth the price!

No more ant farm of crumbs on my desk.

So glad to have this new keyboard on my studio desk.
It types so smooth and soft. Also looks fantastic.
What was up with the previous Apple keyboard design? It caught every crumb throughout the years. It would have made a great studio ant farm.

    2 Thumbs Up

Without a doubt, this is the best keyboard I've ever used. It's comfortable, spacious, responsive and feels solid. I've had no problem syncing my iPod Nano through it. The function keys are good.

    Match made in heaven

I have this keyboard at work. I was skeptical at first, but the multi-media (Function) keys rock. I can start and pause songs in iTunes even when it's not the active window. The only bad thing is now I want to replace my PC style keyboard on my Mac at home. Santa, please...

    I absolutely love it!!!!

I picked this keyboard up at the apple store to go with my new mac mini. It has all the functions you could need on a keyboard plus it looks amazing with my mac. Everyone who has seen it has been amazed at how thin this keyboard is. Even though it is really thin, it is sturdy and strong because it is made out of aluminum. This is a great keyboard and I highly recommend it!

    Great Keyboard

I love the small footprint. I love how everything fits perfectly in the small footprint without looking cluttered at all. The keyboard is setup very nicely with perfectly spaced keys and inconspicuous toggle buttons. Definitely an upgrade from the previous Apple Keyboard.

Low Power Warning - USB 2.0 ports a con!

Great keyboard, however the reason I bought it was for the convenience of the USB 2.0 port for connecting my iPod, camera etc. When I plug these in I get a "Low Power Warning", and they don't work. Customer support now tells me that you actually need a Mac built in 2007 or later (?) to be able to run the keyboard ports as "2.0 high powered ports" and that my May 2006 computer will not be able to do so. Apparently the published minimum requirements:
    • Mac computer with available USB 1.1 or USB 2.0 port
    • Mac OS X v10.4.10 or later
    • Keyboard software update
are required for the keyboard to work - not the USB ports. This is a joke! There are no publicly available articles that state this apparently, so not sure how the paying public are meant to make an appropriately informed decision before purchasing the advertised product. Anyway be warned.

    Not happy.

    CAPS Lock

Re comment about space bar i have the same problem with caps lock. Apart from that its works fine. Note USB does not have enough power to run a memory drive.

Fabulous Keyboard Much Better Than My Apple Wired One

I ordered this keyboard and got it in five days, and I'm in Canada and it is only 4 weeks to Christmas, so thought that was pretty darn good. Keyboard itself is lovely - attractive matte aluminum on the top with two USB ports. It was very easy to hook up to my laptop external display screen and the mouse plugs into the right side of the keyboard - since I'm right-handed this is perfect. The keys are flat and I love the touch - they have the same high tech feel as the keys on my laptop but much easier to use. The angle of this keyboard is almost flat on the desk and my wired Apple keyboard had the back of it almost two inches off the desk, so it had more of an angle than my new aluminum one, but I had no problem getting used to it.

What I really love is that the keys cover the holes and there is not much room around them. Even though I was compulsive about keeping stuff away from my other keyboard, and I almost never ate while at the computer, after a while my wired keyboard somehow got a surprising amount of small stuff (crumbs, cat hair, dust bits, etc.) underneath the keys and I couldn't get it out. I also really like that this is a full size keyboard with the number palette on the right, because I use my keyboard across the corner of my desk and it needs to be long in order to sit diagonally across the 90 degree corner. I also feel that the price is very reasonable for such a nice accessory. The set-up was really easy, follow instructions and the download was quick and easy. Often I take my exterior keyboard with me if I take my computer somewhere, and this one is thin and light, and a joy to put in my computer case.

I'm a very fast typist, with all ten fingers the old fashioned way, and this keyboard keeps up with me no problem.

    Excellent accessory

This is perhaps the nicest overhaul of any component or accessory I've seen in many a moon. I love the (almost) flat profile; the steadiness (no slipping and sliding); and the tactile feel of the keys (almost like typing on a flat desktop surface).

In short, I'm sold. I'd like to see the wireless version when it's full-grown. For now, this is near-perfect.

Sleek sexy, and compact. Some of all of apple's features, simply put into one keyboard. Anyway, I am a user of apple's bootcamp, and i am very dissapointed that there are not drivers out yet for the ability to use the keyboard's volume controls on the keyboard. But aside from that i like the way that apple switched the help key with fn. so, yea. highly recommend, and instead of a push, just.. tap

    one of the best keyboards

This could be the best keyboard I've ever had the pleasure to type with.

I've been a software engineer for the past 22 years and I must say I am very impressed with the feel of this keyboard.

It feels solid, has just the right amount of keyboard clatter (subjective to preference) but most important feature is that it lies really flat on the desk and coupled with its solidness feel plus the texture of the keys provides for a very pleasing experience.

You almost feel like you want to type more and more and faster and faster. I don't know what it is but just feel s right.

    Electric shocks

I love my new keyboard, it's beautiful, slim (but the buttons haven't been sacrificed in size).

My only problem is that I'm getting electric shocks from it. I'm getting shocked on average 10 times a day. It's when I leave and then come back to my keyboard. Is my keyboard telling me that I shouldn't ever leave it? Please, someone tell me if this is normal or if I should send my keyboard back? I've had it about 1 week now.

I give it a 5 out of 5 but if it didn't give me shocks maybe it'd give it a 6.
