    Disappointed.

I just bought a new MagSafe 6 weeks ago, and it quit working already. I am very disappointed in the quality of these power cords.

    Starting to get annoyed

I purchased my first Macbook Pro in January of 2011. I am getting ready to be on my THIRD charger. After reading all of the reviews on here before purchasing the product, I have handled my prior two with the upmost of ease, with no luck. It doesn't matter how careful you are, this charger is a terrible product, and needs to be redesigned NOW!!

    Electrical shorts

Twice in the first year, this product sparked and died when I plugged it in. Such a disappointment compared to other Apple products.

    Very disappointing

Just got my first Macbook Pro in January 2011 after being a PC user and already I'm looking at replacing my charger...it doesn't charge all the time..sometimes I plug it it in and nothing other times it works fine so I find myself need a back up charger for those times it decides not to work ....I expected much better from Apple...it appears I'm not the only one based on reviews I've read..spoke to Apple support and to send me a new one I have to give them a credit card and if they can't find fault with my old one they charge me for new one..I'm still under warranty people...a charger should last more than 3 months....love my macbook but not this accessory

    Awesome!

Great charger, great design! We've had our white 13 inch MacBook since May 2006 and when the original charger stopped working about a year ago we needed to get another one. We decided to go with this new design instead of the original because it laid flat closer to the computer. So far, so good. It works well and we have zero complaints. Also, having a plug that rests closer to the MacBook is nice, especially with little kids in the home.

Less Than 6 months and simply stop working

A very poor product, no damage of any kind and the product simply stopped working. I will be taking it back to the store and asking for a replacement, why not simply fix what is putting a bad spin on a great product the Macbook Pro.

    Really bad design

I got my MacBook back in Nov 2011 and its nov just 6 months later and I am having to replace my power adapter already. The cord came off the Magnetic connector. With the computer being moved a lot while on the work area the cord twisted its self enough to used the wire and make it break. Not the best when the notebook is being used quite a bit....

    Awful

I have had this thing for ONE WEEK and it quit on me. I just paid 80 dollars for this thing to quit on me in one week. This is such a necessary item I am completely appalled at how poorly this is made, you should be embarrassed.

I have to pay HOW MUCH for a new one???

well it looks like I am not the only one in this sinking ship. my charger quit after 2.5 years of use for no apparent reason, and i have the choice of paying $49 to talk to someone at apple regarding the charger or forking over $80 for a new one that might quit on me at any moment.

Poor quality and life of product

I am on my third power source for MacBook Pro. The one that came with my laptop stop giving my system a charge and i would have to rig it to get it to work. And now I am on my 2nd 60W MagSafe Power Adapter and i am having to rig it and it works when it wants to and returning yet another power adapter.

    Worst Apple Product!

I've had to replace the charger for my Macbook that's just over 1 year old 4 times now! I'm tired of replacing this charger and I'm very disappointed with Apple!

    Very poor quality

I, too, bought this charger and it stopped working after four months. I brought it to the Apple store, and they said it had a warranty of 90 days. I agree with numerous reviewers that this is an exceptionally poor product, and I would warn anyone who is reading these reviews (as I should have!) to avoid this charger! I hope Apple will eventually recall this product and offer a charger that *works*

    Great, but bends too easily

I love the overall design of this charger, but I had a problem where it bent too much to get to my outlet and the wires are now exposed. I am disappointed that the new one costs $79 (for a charger?!) as well. I am going to get the old one when I can for $40. I've heard it is better.

not a great adapter, crazy expensive replacement

From day one this adapter ran super hot, so hot that it made marks in my couch. I have been soooo careful with this cord. I've never bent it and rarely even wrapped it and when I did it was wrapped super loosely. There are no frayed wires, no breaks in the plastic insulation and yet here I am with an adapter that won't work. This means that the problem is entirely the manufacturers fault. The least Apple could do is price the cord in a way that reflects the cheap quality of the product but instead they price the cord at four times what other companies charge for their adapters.

    Apple FAIL.

    Worst Product Ever

I am a 22 year old college student and have been a Mac convert since freshman year. I constantly tell people that Macs are the way to go, and that Apple products are the best on the market. This product STRONGLY makes me reconsider my loyalty. This is the worst product I have ever bought for ANY computer I have owned, Mac & PCs included. In the past 6 months, I have replaced this charger three times. I take care of my computer and the charger, and there is no reason for the product to fail other than the fact that it is poorly constructed. This product has a low rating for a reason, it doesn't work. To pay $80 for a product that will surely fail within a few months is outrageous. Apple seriously needs to redesign this as soon as possible, or it will be losing loyal customers.

    Its not working

This product suddenly quit working after 3 months of life . . .
it is simply worthless . . . and now I need to buy another one
which is frustrating because I know I am not the only one with
this problem . .. it should last longer than a few months . . .

Will this next one be as bad?

    Love it.

I like the magnetic ability, I like the light on the cord that tells you whether your MBP is fully charged or not.
I don't understand everyones complaints. I've had this for a couple months and move it often - bedroom, living room, coffee shop, etc - and it's still in the exact same condition it was in when I opened the box.

    MAG ONLY

This is a review of the magnet end only. I got no issues with the rest.
Because the magnet leaves the computer and 90 degree turns there is more leverage applied from the cord and it pops off very well and often. I think the previous straight out plug design works better at staying attached. The new one is I must say more elegant and streamlined but less functional.

Lucky for me I still got one.
