    Worst ever

Mac laptop power supplies have always been the poorest part of the Mac laptop experience. This one is the worst there has ever been. At the lightest touch or pull it becomes detached and you are running on battery power. You have to constantly check it is still plugged in place. If you have the laptop on your lap the slightest move dislodges the magnetic tap. This can happen twenty times in a day's work. Really Apple ought to have rethought the design of this before letting it out on the world. Only way to make it work consistently is to tape it in place.
If I could give zero stars I would.

    Been through FOUR chargers...

Between my mom and myself, we have been through FOUR apple chargers! Everyone of them the small wire has frayed and shorted out. The last one was even sparking! My iPhone charger is starting to do the same thing too! This is crazy. I can not afford to buy another one (80.00 charger), so I am going to purchase a generic one this time. It can't be any worse. What good is a $2,000 MacBook PRO laptop with no charge??? :-( please lower the price of these and make them better quality!

    Never had a problem

I have owned two MacBooks both with the MagSafe Power Adapters and have never had a problem in over 6 years of constant use. I like the design and appreciate that when I am occasionally clumsy and trip over the cord that it just pops out and doesn't send my laptop to the floor.

    DISPOSABLE

3rd charger I've had to buy in a year. I would give it no stars if I could.

    Chargers Break too easily

Apple needs to rethink their design on chargers. I've been through 3 chargers in 3 years. They break too easily

    Junk Chargers

Going to buy my 4th one. First the T charger went, now both of the L chargers have failed me. Unfortunately there is not other option out there except to leave Apple. 4 years and 4 chargers. Unacceptable.

    Apple pls...

Why you keep doing this?... Isn't enough the price of the computer?... We have to buy a mew Adapter because they don't really last for more and you even dare to price it like it's made by nasa to last 200 years under the water, this isn't fair and because of that (and the fact that I miss some good PC games) I'm going back to my HP... I've owned it for 5 years and the adapter it's like new (just a little dirty) and with my mac (Which I've owned for almost 2 years) I have bought 1 adapter because the one that came with the computer worked for 7 months :/ this next would be the third one I need... so this is the end, I really like using my mac for job but I can´t do it if I have to spend so much money in technical support and stuff like this, I´ll come back when you do a well-done Adapter.

Poor quality, cannot give zero stars

But I am not going to buy a new Magsafe adapter. If I have some time I will try to mount the Apple connector at the end of one of my old thinkpad chargers.

I have lot of Thinkpads, the charger of the T21 (1999) is still working while the 2011 Macbook pro (I have 2 Macbook Pro) chargers are all falling apart.

If I could give zero stars, I would give zero to the quality of this piece the Magsafe power adapter.

    So far, So good

I have had my 13-in. MBPro since Sept of 2011. Thus far, my Magsafe power cord has lasted me, fine. Several months ago, I switched jobs and now I have to bring my Mac Book to work on most days. Because of this, I'm looking into getting an additional power cord (1 to leave at home with my dock, and 1 to take in my bag). I figure this, way I can keep one from the stress of unplugging too often (the one at home), and I'll have an extra.
I rated this at a 3 because I haven't had issues, but I know several friends who are on their 3rd cord or so. But I'm also thinking, for those on here who've said they've bought 7 or 10 of them. Why not buy 2 and leave one stationary (home) and take one mobile. At least that way, you know one of those cords wont be getting a lot of wear.
IMHO. BTW, the person who suggested having magsafe connector at both ends, brilliant idea!!

    Awful.

$80 and this thing stops working after three months. What a rip off. Apple should be ashamed of themselves for this garbage.

    lack of power adapter

I have had my MacPro for 3.5 years now. Never once had any issues, i even bought one for my girlfriend for school. Out of no where my power charger stopped working. why is it that you spend 1500-2000$ on a brilliant piece of equipment and they give you shotty workmanship on accessories. I am now forced to share a single charger for the two because i didn't budget 90$ for a spare cable.

    No Zero Stars Available

This products deserves absolutely no stars. Chargers keep failing left and right. At this point you would think that Apple would be embarrassed to have a product this terrible. They're advertising is always about high quality, however this product does not reflect that in the least. Have pride of ownership in your products!! Especially one as crucial and simple (relatively) as a charger.

    Unsafe

After about 6 months the rubber coating on the cable started fraying. Now (getting on for three years after purchase) the magnet separates from the rest of the charger when trying to unplug from the laptop. This leaves the contacts exposed, which emit sparks if they touch the case of the MacBook Pro. This is because the magnet is too strong for the build quality.

This charger replaces a previous one which stop charging (but still powered the computer) after about 6 months. At this level of unreliability, lack of safety, and with Apple's usual ridiculously high accessory prices, I'll be opting for a dodgy third party replacement through Amazon rather than going for the official adapter again.

    Great Product

I have had my aluminum Macbook since the late 2008 when it first came out. My original charger lasted me up until last week when it finally died after 5 years!I never had a problem with that charger and took really god care of it. I bought a new charger since my old one finally gave up on me due to the wear and tear around the "T" shaped area which connected to the computer. The new one has connected well and has been doing its job. People need to understand that Apple is a company meant for people of high class, aka for rich people. So if you're someone who has an issue buying a charger at $80, then maybe you should consider not purchasing an Apple product.

    Cable blown out

Just as all the other reviews have stated, my charger has also blown the cable and is currently unusable. Same issue with my sister's macbook air charger. They seriously need a completely new redesign of the chargers to fix this issue. Definitely not worth $99 a charger

    Magsafe "L"

Preferred design by far -- the most robust and sleek of the Magsafe power adaptors. Unhappy that new MacBooks have reverted to a "T" connector

    Apple Chargers

This will be my fourth charger I am buying for my 13 inch macbook. My macbook is great, the charger is horrible. I could have bought another computer from another company for the amount of money I have spent of these chargers. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about it. It's a design flaw and therefore you are forced to keep handing over your money until you purchase a different computer. If this company is so innovative why not try making a decent charger for your products.

    Amazing power supply!

I really cannot for the life of me figure out why there are so many negative complaints about this power supply. I have owned Windows based laptops until buying a Macbook Pro and those all had clumsy, cheaply made power supplies with clunky connectors. I love the Apple MacSafe and it's forward thinking design. It is well crafted and expertly made. I can see it lasting many years. What I think is that people today do not take care of their gear and expect everything to withstand being thrown around, dropped and stepped on. Any electrical item will fail given that treatment. Apple makes the best, period!
