    Horrible

The power adapters for MacBook and MacBook Pro have been horrible in my experience, I love my computer but the charger keeps breaking on me. My friends have also had trouble with their Power Adapter breaking on them, has been super frustrating!!

    Worst Charger Ever

Not only is apple's charger super expensive , there are times when it would all of the sudden not work and after a few days, work again. My charger is about two years old and yesterday it stopped working no matter what I do to try and make it work. So today, I went out and bought another charger which is EIGHTY FOUR DOLLARS!! I came home and plugged in my old charger into my computer and found out that it worked again. I don't know what the is wrong with this charger because I did not do anything to fix it nor did I do anything to break it. This product needs to be durable if it were to be sold at this high of a price.

    Very frustrating

Please do something about this adapter. Since 2009, every year we have patiently waited for a solution, and still we wait. I know you are frustrated with this issue, too. You must be. Why must it take so long? Why do seemingly simple issues, such as this or the creation of a toggle switch for wi-fi on the iPhone, drag on for multiple years until they are resolved?

    Design the charger better.

    Dear Apple,

I hope you guys can design a better charger for the macbook pro. I am having issues with my cord, the wires are exposed and bent out of shape and surprisingly it still works. Is it possible to reinforce the cable so that it will resist from breaking, benting, or splitting? Thx.

    Power Adapter burnt

When I smelled burining plastic I shutdown, thinking it was from the powermac. I discovered instead that the power adapter had burnt at the point where the magsafe cable exits the unit. The plastic about the cable had melted and the insides were exposed - brown/black.

Not sure why it required a 2 hour wait at the Apple Store to replace though staff showed surprise and interest. My concern is that left unattended, it could have burnt the house down.

The $80/year MacBook Pro Subscription Service

Just adding my $.02...actually I'm adding another $80.00 to Apple's coffers so I can keep my computer charged until next year when I'll be back to replace this charger when it breaks.

    Does not last

Apple tried to solve the problem by making the L design but it has been another fail. It is really frustrating to having to keep replacing these cords. The same issue happens with the phone charging cords and it is just frustrating.

    $80 power adapter!

Our first one broke so we needed a new one. We were very disappointed when we heard the price. It was nearly double what we expected. I got the distinct feeling that we were being taken advantage of (I guess "screwed" is the more proper term). I know it sounds a little dramatic but we are now rethinking buying a second Apple Macbook.

    Seriously?

There is no way that these cords are worth 80 dollars. I'm pretty sure I can get my weight in Chipotle burritos for 80 dollars. Actually while I am typing this my cable just stopped working again, again. How fitting. I have to consistently jiggle it because one of the little springs in the cable broke. I'm just tired of of how poorly made these cables are. This will probably be my last Macbook Pro because of how consistently disappointing this company has been. You dropped the ball on this one Apple.

6 chargers in 5 years = design flaw

I have seen these chargers fail repeatedly in two ways. In the first, the springs that allow the contacts to establish a connection fail, or the cord itself frays.

    It's time for redesign

I love my Mac but the power adapter is absolute garbage. I have gone through two of them within a year because they fray and the outer shell falls apart exposing the wires. You guys at apple to to rethink this and lower the price because you are making people spend $80 on garbage.

    Yet again it has broken

This is the third time I have to replace the charger on my MacBook Pro and I'm sick and fed up with it. I could accept it more if they weren't 60 or 70 quid each time. Surely to god they should last more than 6 months can time. I love my Mac and was happy to pay the significant price for it but enough is enough. Back to a laptop for me. Apple refuse to even admit there is a problem and their ignorance is the end for me. Good luck with keeping your customers.

14 Months gentle usage and Broken

Got the charger with my new laptop about 14 months ago and have been very gentle with it. always wrapping the cords according to the instructions on the apple website and still have the cord separating from the block and have to wiggle the cord to get any charge. it's hit and miss and as someone that works from home, office and classroom, not having guaranteed power is a huge issue.

Reading the other reviews on here, I see its not a new issue or something apple isn't aware of; charging $80 for a replacement about every year is insane.

Thinking about a pc for my next laptop.

    This is completely ridiclous

the point of making a genuinely good product is that everything in its entirety works. this is the third time I have had this issue of having to replace my power adapter - both the plug and the long adapter dies out.

does anyone at apple customer service read these reviews!? it is ridiculous that i have to spend 80 dollars on an adapter 3 times in the course of 3 years. it seems that these adapters coincidentally decide to burn out right after the manufacter's warranty ends.

your customers are NOT HAPPY. READ THESE REVIEWS!

    Short life

I have this charger with machine. After exactly one year and a half, the charger dead.
And it sold 80 dollars! What else can I comment?

    Why.

You really need to do something about your chargers. I'm about to buy the 3rd charger for this computer. With the old T style charger, the cord sheared off at the box. I rewired it because i couldn't afford to pay the ridiculous $80 for a new one. When I finally did obtain the new charger (with the new lay flat style), it is now shearing off right at the part that connects to the computer. I'm starting to get a bit tired of this. For as large and "technologically advanced" a company as you are, I would think that you would be able to come up with a more durable solution for your chargers. Shame on you, apple.

    Poor

You look online and see poor reviews on 3rd party chargers but at least they don't cost $70-80. My charger breaks down without reason after about a year a half; it's clockwork.
