    Died

Lasted just a few days over a year before it died. Noticed in the week before it died the transformer was getting exceptionally hot, almost too warm to hold and then one day stopped working. Seems like a lot of reviewers have had similar experiences.

    Power cord

Too flimsy where it connects to the magnet. I'm supposed to pay $80 to get a whole new dervice when only the cord is weak near the magnet and therefore not making a consistent connection. I was snootily told by one of those "genius" brats that I could not just get the cord part replaced. See if I buy another Apple--after 20 years of loyalty!

    Horrid

The thing kept breaking, had 2 from 2 different macs, had one of the chargers replaced under warranty, then 6 months later, the chargers both fail within a month of each other, $89 for a new charger that is only expected to last at most 1 year is horrible, I would have to turn to $31 chargers online, as they would be much cheaper to replace.

    JUNK

All I want to know is what apple is doing about this. I am on my fourth charger. With the $$ I have spent on chargers, I could have bought a tablet, laptop or something. Highly dissatisfied with your product.

I'll start looking at other companies for my laptops etc. Samsung seems to be coming up...

1.5 star average rating says it all

I love my MacBook pro to death. But this power adapter is terrible. It's weak and it snaps fast. 2 out of 10 people might make it last for years but for any average user, this adapter just does not last long. Apple needs to have lifetime warranty on these little things.

    Poor price-quality ratio

I've had the original charger from when I first bought my Macbook three years ago so I'm apparently one of the luckier ones. From a lot of the reviews below, I've noticed people have an issue with the durability of this power adapter, what with wires getting frayed but personally, the physical integrity of my cable is intact. Yet, after months of giving me grievance (sometimes charging, sometimes not), I think it's finally kicked the proverbial bucket. I've never, in my life of buying electronics, had to replace a power adapter and at that price I have to say I'm a little disappointed.

    Magsafe Adaptor

Pathetic Product, since 3 years of me owning a macbook pro, i have purchased the adaptor 80 USD twice.

Its a very bad design the cable breaks and cant be repaired. If apple doesnt change the design people will stop buying their laptops.

Over 1400 Reviewers can't be wrong... Mr. Ive, please pay attention!

Yes, now it was my turn to suffer from a frayed cable with my power adapter after a little over 4 years of owning this thing, but I am EXTREMELY careful with my things. For most people these are lasting a little over a year. I agree that the cable should be a lot more durable, especially at $80 a pop.

I live in Chile now and can't even find a replacement for the 60W MagSafe. I write this review as only 42 minutes remain in my battery, probably one of the last things I will do with my trusty MacBook... So sad...

    1 year 9 months

My power adapter is starting to die... sometimes the light comes on and sometimes it doesn't... I usually hafta fiddle around with it in order for it to work. It's kinda nerve wrecking when that happens - especially when I'm doing my work and my battery is low... Hopefully, it'll last me till the end of school cuz as of right now, I don't have the means to shell out $80 for an adapter :(

    Working nicely for a year

I bought my MacBook Pro 13'' exactly a year ago and reading the bad reviews of this MagSafe I was concerned it was going to fail soon. Well, by using my laptop for 3-4 hours everyday since I bought it, I haven't had any issues with the MagSafe, the battery or any other part of my computer. Many say Apple products are overpriced, but for my own experience I have no reasons to hate them and many to love them. It's a delight to use my MBP and everything works as it I bought it yesterday. Hope things keep working like they are. I don't know if my MagSafe is going to stop working tomorrow, but as for today I can only rate it 5 stars with a year of use.

    Terrible Charger

They NEED a better design. I have this for about a year and the the rubber of the charger ripped, therefore the wires came undone. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!
IT HAS TO BE MORE DURABLE FOR EVERYDAY USE!

    A fire hazard

I have only owned my Mac for a few months, and the Power adapter is already unusable because it has become a fire hazard. It is constantly making crackling sounds (electrical noise), and is heating up to the point I can't touch it in just about 15 mins.

I am forced to buy a new one already, but will be writing to APPLE to be compensated, I hope.

Worst Charger design I have seen!

I haave had my macbook pro for little over a year and my charger cable splits in half! These chargers are very poorly made and I don't think it is necessary for me to purchase a new one. Im very disappointed with you apple.

    FIX IT

This Magsafe charger lasted only a year and a half! My 10+ year old original Thinkpad charger is still good as the first day as I bought it. This will be the last mac i will own.

broken after 1 year and 2 weeks

the original one came with my laptop stopped charging after 1 year and 2 weeks of use. this is ridiculously expensive to buy new one. apple company should recall all the products and should do something about this problem.
people didn't pay thousand dollars for this.

It broke after a few months

I've had to purchase this adapter every few months since it keeps on breaking. It's horrible! I wish I could buy a competitor brand!

    Worthless

This adapter has given me problems within a year I bought my MacBook Pro. Apple really needs to fix the problem that is obviously affecting many buysers.

    In with the New!

Just before Christmas 2012, my MacBook Pro's original power cord & adapter had a "meltdown!" While a minor inconvenience, what with the holidays mere days away, I decided to forego replacing it before I left to spend Christmas with family, even though I'd be sans laptop during my train rides to and from Chatham. This week [Jan 6 - 12], I "bought the 'bullet'," and bought a new cord and adapter from a local Apple resale location, and actually saved a few dollars too! I live in hope that this one will last longer than 3.5 years!

    Good idea, terrible implementation

The MagSafe connector is a really brilliant idea, it's just a shame that they're so shoddily constructed. Mine has entirely frayed at the end and is both a shock and fire hazard, despite taking very good care of my electronics. It seems asinine to pay $80 for something that I am genuinely afraid will burn my house down.
