    Greatly in Need of Redesign

I am about to order my third power adaptor in three years. The cord appears to fail near the point of connection with the computer--yield intermittent charging. It is a very weak feature of another wise reliable computer.

    Terrible product

I have had my macbook for three years and this is now my 5th charger. What a joke!!! The first few times it just stopped charging I would have to move the wire around to get a charge but this time the plastic has melted and the wires are exposed only had this last one 4 months.
The only positive is that as they break in less than a year it is always covered by the receipt so I do not have to pay for a new one.

Terrible product I wish there was a 0 star rating as it is not worth a 1.

    Poor Quality Wires for chargers

I am extremely disappointed with chargers of Apple products. I have MacBook Pro and iPhone. Mac charger wire is broken from the adapter. It totally detached from the adapter. iPhone charger wire is broken from the point where it connects with the phone.
Now I have to spend stupid $80 for the Mac charger. I would rate Apple charger wires as ZERO, actually BIG ZERO.

    Overpriced, flimsy

I've had this charger for 2 years, and it's been great up until the moment it suddenly stopped working (it was working the day before!). It's not a bad charger, and does its job but i definitely don't think that the cost is justifiable for an accessory that cannot last longer than 2 years (based from the reviews and personal experience).

    overpriced and not durable enough.

    Another one bites the dust

I am on to my third one of these chargers and this one is slowly giving up the ghost. The cable melted and burst on the first one, The second one did the same and this one you have to shake to get it to work.

Apple, it is not difficult to make a product that works and last a bit??? This charger, for the price and quality, is not even worth one star, but I had to give it one to get this review in. For £50-£66 this charger should be bomb proof, it is the only way to charge my MacBook Pro so it appears I am stuck? Sort your product out so they don't die every 4-6 months.

    Poorly made

This is one poorly made adapter. It failed after a year and a half of non-strenuous usage. Of course, just after the warranty expired. Hoping that a class action will start soon as it did for the previous iteration of this adapter.

    Doesn't last...

I was thinking about how all these reviews were a bit knee-jerk, seeing as though my adapter only just conked out after 3 years. but then i realized that this is actually my THIRD adapter in 3 years!!! this is a really cruddy product, and I am sure apple is looking to rid themselves of this issue.

On the bright side, i seem to remember bringing the adapter into the store and receiving some sort of discount on the new one.

If I Could Give 0 Stars; I Would.

This product is a complete joke. It just refuses charge at random, and there is no way you can fix it. I had to buy a brand new one for $80 and then that one broke. I am never buying another Apple product again after this. A complete waste of my time and money and a load of unnecessary stress. Thanks for nothing, Apple.

    what a shame!!!!

Had my new macbook pro out of it's box for less than 5 hours before the adapter failed. I am covered under warranty, but still very upsetting! I have many other apple products which I am greatly satisfied with. Hope this isn't the start of an issue like the others already mentioned when related to this adapter.

    Shame

It is such a shame for a company like Apple to sell such a mediocre product at an absolutely ridiculous high price. Apple should reconsider this product and try to improve this product for two main reasons: A. Apple would be saving money due to those customers that are under warranty and B. Although the customer loyalty is excellent, it will increase customer satisfaction.

    Shockingly poor

I’ve now had three break and always the same thing as what pretty much everyone on here has been saying. The longest i’ve had one last is about 6 months and at £50 a pop its an absolute joke. Put it this way I was very displeased to have to give this product one star. It deserves none.

    Worst apple product

I am a big fan of Apple products, but this power adapter is awful. I'm on my third one in two years. I've never had this many problems with an adapter in my entire life. If they were not so incredibly expensive, I wouldn't care. But to charge me 80 dollars for a piece of junk that goes bad within months of buying it does not sound like Apple's M.O.

    Doesn't last long

Bought a replacement less than two years ago and now the charger is no longer working because the cord has a tear due to poor material quality. For $80, expected it to last longer.

    Just sops working.

That's the fourth time I'll have to replace it. Right now it's not working.

    more to it...

OK, so I've had my MacBook for over four years now and my charger just gave out today... I don't understand why people are having so much trouble with the new ones. Now that I have to buy a new one, I'm a little concerned. My charger was usually plugged in at night, while during the day, I only brought the computer with me to school. I never wrapped the cord around, as I left it loose on the floor. It honestly seems as if the quality has decreased, and Apple may not do anything about it. Why? Because we are consumers who are paying for a specific brand and we will pay whatever in order to make it work. The only way they may fix the issue is if we stop buying their products... oh! Look at the value of shares decrease.... just saying. Right now, business is through the roof... Morality is far behind......

The Best Feature of The Mac

I have had at least 10 laptops in my household that have all had problems with the power adapter breaking. The most prominent example is my father tripping on his HP's power cable, and now it is all squirrelly. I am so grateful that I don't have to deal with that. And as far as everyone saying that it doesn't last; mine broke after a year and a half and the the Apple store replaced it for free (out of warranty!)
