    The Camera Adaptor

i have had my camera adaptor for about a week now, and I can find no faults with it. Others have written that they were disappointed it would only accept an SD card. Well, if you can read, you would have seen in the description that it was an SD card reader. Not CF, SD..... I have both Canon and Fuji point-and-shoot cameras, and the adaptor works fine with both, directly cabled to the usb adaptor or using the card reader. The software/firmware/whatever even handles NEF files from my Nikon D300 quickly and efficiently. I have a Logitech USB stereo headset/microphone set, and it works flawlessly as well. The microphone does not work with Dragon Dictate, but does work fine for voice memos in PaperDesk. All in all, a good product; fills the niche nicely.

    adapter for photo cards

The camera kit is great but it really bothers me that you didn't include in the info that you can only use a certain sd card & would need an adapter for other size cards. Why aren't customers given an option to purchase this or at least be informed before purchasing. I assumed from the
sales and order info that any card could be used!

Nice for Photos, Not for your videos

Great Tool for importing Photos. I was surprised that Videos from my Canon ixus won't Play. Don't expect too much.

    Perfect Addition

This is the perfect addition to the I-Pad for me when out in the field. I use a full size DSLR, and when finished for the day, I simply upload my pics for review.

    Get it!!!

It's totally worth it. Would have been nice if it was built in. But you can't have everything in the first round on this planet.

    need of different adapter

Adapter USB worked fine with a compact flash adapter plugged in, and card in it Why not make more adapters that could take compact flash or different cards not just smart digital. There are more than one type of camera card.

Mixed because of poorly documented limitation

I'd like to give this a good review but there is one glaring problem. This is promoted as a way to get photos from iPhone to iPad. However, you must dig through to support pages HT4101 to find that it does NOT work for the 3G. No error no nothing just doesn't work. Excuse me but the 3G is only one generation old and still being sold. Why is it not supported. At least make it very clear on purchase page and package that it ONLY works on 3GS

iPad + camera connector = coolest thing ever!

Just got my camera connection kit. Plugged in an SD card, popped it into iPad, pics appeared in Photos app...works exactly as promised. Some reviewers complain that it didn't work with iPhone or some other device...well, did it say it would? Pretty sure it only listed the iPad under compatible devices. And if some other ones work, bonus!
This seriously makes the iPad even more amazing than it already is. Thank you, Apple!

    camera kit

I just purchased a camera kit in hopes it will help me view my HD videos from my camcorder.
It works beautifully...I have to record in 720 30 fps instead of 1080 30 fps MP4 for it to play.( must be something with the display of the ipad res.) . My camera records on a SDHC card in the H.264 format so I just insert the card in the card reader after shooting some scenes and presto! It loads, plays and can even zoom while viewing with out a skip!!! Man this thing is slick.
So all of you who are wondering about loading and viewing HD format from a camcorder ,it works great!!!!
BTW I am using a Sanyo Xacti HD-1010

need to create DCIM folder in order to recognize photos on SD card

Have two SD cards, who didn't work, but when I created a DCIM folder and put the photos in it, suddenly everything worked. Didn't find any info on the web or the "manual" about this.

Must say though that I would expect a much better user experience from apple. Want to use the iPad to finally go through my 25000 photos and organize them better/delete the bad ones.

Perfect for my CR2 Raw files

Works like a charm: simple, fast, and able to read and view my CR2 raw files (Canon 50D). Well worth the money.

    USB Device not supported?

Did I get a lemon? Called the support # and waited forever.

I would say skip this accessory. Waste of money, they only take those old dinosaur SD cards or USB connector from your camera. You might as well save your money and connect your camera USB to your iTunes and load them there.

The attached USB device is not supported

Just tried 8 different cards from SanDisk, Kingston and Transcend. The cards ranged in size from 256MB to 16GB. This device read none of them. Just kept showing the following error message...The attached USB device is not supported.
Extremely frustrating. Was really hoping for an quick way to move some photos over to the iPad.

    Works, eventually.

I was able to finally get two of these kits for our ipads. When I connect the sd card reader and try importing pictures it crashes on me everytime after about 10 images. The only way to select more than 10 is to keep your finger on the screen and keep moving it around while its importing. Also disappointed because when I found out they had this accessory I was also told I'd be able to import video from it. Nope.

    Amazing and easy

I'm all about simple. This camera kit is a must have. It just makes things easier
I prefer not to always have to connect to the my computer to upload photos, That is why this is very convenient, as a photographer when I'm on the go, this is a great way for me to upload my pics and I don't have to wait till I get home. Love this product and I highly recommend it.

Works fine with iPhone 3G and 3GS

Tested the kit using USB to iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and Canon PowerShot SD900 with my 64GB 3G iPad.

Photos come over full size from all three. I've tried copying and pasting into iPad Mail and emailing directly from iPad Photos. The results were identical--no resolution changes.

However, when I tried this with photos downloaded from my Canon SD900 I found a difference. Copying the photo and pasting it into iPad Mail sent the full sized photo, 3648x2736. When emailing directly from the Photos app on the iPad the image was resized to 2048x1536 which appears to be the limit on photos piped from the Photos app to the email app.

Movies from my SD900 (MVI_xxxx.AVI files) also imported and played properly on my iPad.

I am very pleased with the kit.

    Some Cameras Are Not Compatible

I have an older Canon Power Shot with a compact flash card. The camera has a USB cord and exports pictures just fine onto my iMac. However it does not work with my iPad. Apple told me "some cameras are not supported". Maybe Apple could list which cameras are not supported before customers purchase this.

A must have for iPad owners

This is a must if you intend to take your iPad along with your digital camera. The pictures transferred from my SD card into the iPad very fast and the user interface is nice.

The USB connector did not work with my 3G iPhone. Not sure why but neither the iPhone nor the iPad recognized the other. Of course I changed the cable and made sure connections were tight. No luck. So, if you have a 3G iPhone, take a note of this issue.

Finally, the only complaint I have about this product is the way it's packaged. The two connectors come in a little tiny box and inside a plastic envelop that is open from both ends. Just exactly where does Apple think we are going to store this little, easily misplaced connectors? And why not combine both of them in a single connector?
