    Extremely Poor Quality

I don't know what they make the cables from now, but all of the ones I own have started to disintegrate after a few weeks. I have several old iPod cables that still work perfectly, but Apple have now changed the material to one that doesn't last. They feel great at first and don't tangle, but soon after the rubber becomes brittle and flakes away. This is not a fault of mine, I have a cable at work that has done nothing but sit on my desk and the rubber is so brittle that just touching the wire causes bits to flake off. There is the same problem with the laptop chargers and the headphones. I wish Apple would test their products for longevity, not just how the look fresh out the box.

    Horrible!

Previously had a iPad Air 1st version nice and lightning functions great, but a few months later I had to buy a new cable, now I am in the same situation that's my 3th cable in a little time! Very disappointed with this cable.
Also I have an iPhone but can't use the charger for the iPad for amperage things.
    That's bad point Apple!

    Never had a problem

I've never had a problem with lightning cables/chargers. I only purchased a new one to work with the Ford Sync in my car. As long as you pull it out with the plug and not the cable then they don't break. I'm still using my original cable from 3 years ago.

I Don't Think the Charging Cable is Reliable

They are totally unreliable and always break. It is causing me lots of problems. All my charging cables are broken. They do not work properly. Sometimes my phone will not be charged 100% overnight, and I have to start the day without a fully charged device. I also have to charge my iPad, but I only have one cable so it's impossible to charge both fully every day. I was forced to take my mom's to use overnight, but then I left it at my brother's house. So then my mom stole my broken cable and I always bring a cable to school to charge my phone throughout the day and my iPad for school. Now I can't because Apple does not make their charging cables well. They break and do not work properly.

    Apple should be shamed themselves

They sell premium priced products, an provide cables that are lucky to last 2 months, come on everyone who buys a product from Apple should expect better, premium product at least be prepared to replace failed cables for the life of the product to the original owner. That might make you lift your game Apple. Terrible

    Worst-designed cable ever

Between iPhones, iPads, and extra cables we bought for charging at work and in the car, we have at least 5 of these. They have all started breaking at the same time, right at the junction of the strain relief and the rest of the cable at the Lightning connector end. I am extremely careful with cables, and I have never seen anything like this. Whoever designed this thing should be fired.

    Unreliable - Continuously Breaks

I've purchased 5 of these in the last year - 4 have broken. I haven't experienced any "fraying" or the cable tearing like others have, but I HAVE noticed one thing in common with each of my broken ones: they all have dark, corrosive marks on some of the gold lightning connections. I even used a knife to scrape the marks off one of them, and it charged fine for a while (until the corrosive marks built up again, then it wouldn't charge). Apple, PLEASE fix this issue!

    Apple Lighting Chargers are horrendous

I actually own stock in Apple and have owned several iPhones and I am considering jumping ship. I have to spend $50-$100 per year on chargers for me and my family which is ridiculous. Apple is a shell of what it once was.

Very poor quality. Buy Cygnett instead

i have gone through so many of these lightning cables. the white lining always ends up falling apart within a few months no matter how careful i am. this may not stop the cable from working but it looks really dodgy.

i bought a cygnett 2m cable simply because i wanted a longer cord. that was almost 2 years ago and it is now the cord i use most frequently i.e. everyday. it is still in perfect condition. meanwhile i have gone through 4 apple cables.

this product is very poorly made and does not last nearly as long as what should be reasonably expected. if i need a replacement for my cygnett cable one day, it definitely will not be this product. i cannot say it more emphatically, "do not buy this product!" if i could, i would give this product a nil star rating, but the lowest possible rating is 1 star.

    Please make a better product

These cords just quit, for no reason. My last one is an Apple product and didn't
    last 60 days.

"This cable or accessory is not certified"

I have to replace my cable every 1-3 months. They always just stop working for no reason. I don't even have the frayed wire that some people mention. I'm VERY careful with my cables. I even fortify them with electrical tape. I don't bend them. I don't pull from the wire. I've read every recommendation and I've painstakingly done everything people said to do. Never had this issue prior to the iphone 5.

    cable quality is poor

The quality of the Apple cable is awful. I've gone through numerous iPhone cables over the years, but the Lightning to USB takes the cake as the most poorly made. Fraying and cord failure is all but guaranteed after 3-4 months use. I'd suggest reinforcing the ends where the wire meets the connectors with electrical tape.

Improve this in the future Apple. It's irresponsible to be producing cables that end up in landfills or perhaps our oceans after a few months use. You're better than that.

    Two years wonder

I've been using the same lightning cable that came with my iphone 5s for more two years. Still works like a new one, no defects, no delay in charging, probably better than those cheap imitator cables.

    Never had one break!!

I've never had a charger cord break. You all must be really rough on your cords. But my complaint is, they stop charging. I've only had apple chargers for my apple devices (5 chargers for 5 devices) only one works. Why is this happening?! I have one charger to charge all 5 devices. Lord forbid that one go out. I'd be screwed. I'm afraid to buy anymore, afraid they're all cheaply made now and are going to break or it's not going to charge my devices. APPLE, fix this!!! I'm not ok with paying $20 for a cord and however much for a box and it still not work. Help!!

Might have to be my last iPhone

I am on the road a lot for work (3/4 of the month). This is the third cable I have bought in a month. My phone is rejecting cables left and right. If this continues, this will be my last iPhone. It's distressing to be traveling and run out of charge, have no way to even figure out how to get yourself to the store to buy an 'original' cable when I have no power on my phone to navigate... last chance, Apple.

Why do I need to buy a new cable every three months?

I have had an iphone 5 and now an iphone 6, and with each one the main problem is the lighting cable. How is it that a company like apple cannot get this right already? I have had 6 of these things breaking or worse, just deciding notto work anymore with the message "this cable is not original" Yes it is! Is the exact one that came with the iphone... Wont buy any apple phones anymore just because of the lighting cable

    overpriced and poor quality

for a $29 cable you'd think it would be high quality! but no, it just falls out of the connection on my phone, making it vibrate when i move it every so slightly. i was replacing the cable which came with my phone originally which frayed! you'd think apple would listen to all these negative reviews and fix their cables!

    Charger

The Apple usb lighting chargers are horrible. Apple products are expensive as is and being a consumer I should not continuously have to purchase chargers. No other phone chargers scrunch up and tear up like these. Leads me to believe the quality in the product is not all that is cracked up to be.
