    Shocking

Im sorry but im now ordering my FOURTH cable after the lighting end has broken on every one. Im careful with it, I wrap extra tape around when bought new to prevent it from happening again, and it fails every time!! I'm just waiting for apple to send me a years supply of them because this nuts!! I cant keep paying £15-25 for a piece of wiring that doesn't last.

About time apple fixed this and got some decent welding tools in on those wires, but of course this is all you can do and so im going to have to keep on paying £15 every time it breaks!!

    Not impressed!

    Multiple Failures

I have now had several Apple (not aftermarket) Lightning to USB Cables fail. They all worked fine initially but, after several month of use began to fail intermittently and then with greater frequency. Cleaning the ends has not solved the problem.

    Awful!

I have had to return about 4 of these wires as they break so easily. Last time I went to the apple store to swap it with a new one I was told they have perfected it and it will survive past the warranty this time... it lasted a month. Whats the point of having a phone that you can't charge? Apple need to sort this issue because its becoming a problem for many people!

    Terrible Quality

I have gone through 4 lightning cables and 1 MicroUSB to Lightning adapter. So the two that came with my iPhone and iPad, respectively, broke (just stopped working) and one of the two was torn and every time I plugged it in, a light when on inside the cable. After that I bought a certified aftermarket lightning, lasted about 2 months, then that one completely stopped working and I went and bought an original. That stopped working so I bought an adapter and returned it yesterday to get another original. I'm not even taking it out of the package until I get my iPod's, if I have to return it I'll just use my iPods cable which should arrive with my iPod in 5-6 days. Just to sum everything up, avoid losing the receipt and packaging of the cables.

    Lightning Breaks!

This cable breaks waaay too easily. I've never had a problem with the previous generation cables. I've gone through 3 cables already. They're overpriced pieces of junk. They should call this Lightning-gate.

    I am disgusted!

2 months = 8 chargers! I had an iPhone 5s since Xmas that worked completely fine, then a few months after my charger broke and ever since then I have had to keep on buying new chargers. Then one day I bought my most recent charger I plugged it in and it asked me to sync it for no reason so I did then next thing I know I plug the charger in again and my iPhone is completely broken because of that charger (original apple) I am very upset because I loved my iPhone but now I don't have it.

If Steve jobs was alive im sure he'd be ashamed to see what utter rubbish apple have designed to honour his name. This product Deserves no stars at all. Appalling just appalling.

    Poor disappointing quality

I sadly have to agree with all of the reviews on here which state the latest 8 pin charger is completely useless and a waste of money. I'm on my 4th charger in 6 months. Such a let down considering I've had the iPhone 3 and 4 and never had any charger problems. The charger is essential considering the phones themselves have to be charged daily! What is Apple doing about this?? Anybody had any response from them? I'd love to know why the design was ever changed in the first place! Oh I forgot, to make more money! Steve Jobs will be turning in his grave poor man.

    Apple PLEASE PLEASE

I am sick and tired of buying my 6th lightning charger for my iPhone 5 in just over 12 months...this is simply unacceptable quality by Apple and as is evident by the tens of thousands of user updates on the web will begin to have a material impact on bottom line. Please Please listen and make the necessary quality changes at factory to ratify this matter once and for all.. In actual fact and despite Australian warranty conditions render replacement free of charge these lightning chargers must be recalled worldwide...

Garbage, 1 star is too much.

I bought my iPhone 5s the first of march, it's not even may yet and I have already had to buy an off brand replacement charger. I don't use my cord anywhere except on my nightstand next to my bed. I plug it in when I go to sleep and unplug it when I wake up. I don't bend or twist the cord in any direction and the cord has completely stopped working, will not charge my phone except for a second here and there unless I pinch the cord right at the base, and I don't know about you but I don't want to have to sit and hold my cord until my phone is completely charged. I still have several original cords from my first iPod, both iPhone 3's, as well as both my iPhone 4&4s. Every single one of them still work perfectly. I have had this one for barely 2 months and it has stopped working. It is complete and utter BS considering the price of a replacement cord from Apple. I have been a loyal apple customer since the iPod and I feel like I've been cheated with this new creation. They should have stuck with the old charger, or at least do a recall and redesign the charger for the new phones. I love my iPhone but if the reliability of this cord shows how apple is going to start doing things I am going to sell my phone and buy an android. Fix this apple, or you'll be losing a lot of very loyal and valued customers.

    Sincerely,
    A very unhappy customer

Worse design ever - would give 0 stars if I could

Like most of the writers before me, I have gone through half a dozen 3rd party lightning connectors which break after a few weeks, now even the original Lightning connector that came with my 5S phone has given up the ghost after less than 3 months. Decision to move away from the universal USB connectors must be one of the most stupid decision made by Apple. Will seriously be considering a Korean or Chinese Android phone next time around when my contract ends.

Clearly it is a complete failure of the basic design that makes it less able to be manufactured reliably even by Apple themselves.

The issue is not just related to me I work on a team of 20 people and the majority use iPhone 5, not one of us has the original lead .... apple don't care though there coining it !!!

    The worst

These cables literally fall apart after three months of use. Then you have to go spend $20 just to get a new one! If only apple could make their accessories as reliable as their phones.

    Absolute rubbish

I have had my iPhone 5 for nearly a year now and I have had to buy I don't know how many replacement chargers, I have lost count. They work fine for a couple of weeks or months and then I get the message this cable is not supported, this is a really rubbish design and apple should have kept the old charger as I have never had a problem with that. Utterly disgusted and I think Apple should replace chargers free of charge.

Very disappointed bad quality and too overpriced!

I recently had to purchase a new cable after my original cable failed, I have tried yo use several generic cables and they work for about 2 weeks yo a month then they will no longer charge. I bought my replacement charger at $25 AU a pop is a bit ridiculous only to have it last less than a month and it fail. I have sent it back to the store that I bought it from and am now waiting for a replacement. These cables are the worst quality I have ever seen, they are too thin, too frail and way to easy to break. I am disappointed at the fact that I cannot just buy a generic cable and use that because as soon as I do there is an update released that stops my cable from working. Needless to say I am not very happy with the poor quality and expensive price tag put on these cables.
