    Poor Quality

This is my second lightning cable in six months. Both had the same problem with shorting out. The cord is not thick enough. The 30 pin to lightning adapter is much thicker and durable. Maybe Apple should use this cord on their usb to lightning cables.

    Really disappointed!

I really hope apple have read all these reviews the new cables are absolutely rubbish. I have never had any problem with the old charger. It was much more reliable I have bought three cables in the last 5 months, all have broken and I'm left without a phone. What are apple going to do about this? I really want to get a new phone now. Apple what a big mistake to make this change to such poor quality. What a disappointment!

    Not fit for purpose

Unfortunately, these cables are necessary for charging the most recent generation of iPhone and iPad. Out of the box, they work well. But they are not able to withstand normal daily use. My family tend to be reasonably careful with cables and we have not experienced complete failure. However, after about 9 months, all three of our lightning to USB cables are beginning to fail. It is now quite difficult to plug it in and find a position to put the device and cable in to ensure that it continues to charge.

    Poor durability

Not nearly as durable as the old ipad cable. Seems to be a very poor design, I've went through several. Need to make the lightning connector much stronger.

And it lasted for so long...

I received the new IPod Touch 5 when it first came out. I did all the research and I love every aspect of this IPod! For all the time I have had this IPod, I have had no problem. Sure, the shortness of the cable has been somewhat of an inconvenience, but I was willing to overlook that because of the stunning product. I think I was one of the very lucky few who had a decent charger, until now. At the lightning end that meets the IPod, it has very mildly experienced what you might call "crunching." My best guess is that it is the result of use while charging. Anyway, a few days ago the charger became very fincky if the IPod is moved at all during charging. I tried to resist using it during charging, but it impossible. Everything important is kept on this device- my documents, contacts, emails, just everything. This device is basically connected at my hip at all times whether I'm at home or in public, but now, the cable has completely stopped working. I am very disappointed that after all the money paid for the IPod, I will have to dish an additional $20 I simply do not have. I am disappointed that I will face the inconvenience of spending the gas money for a 1 hr. round trip to the Apple Store. I'm disappointed that Apple believes $20 is a fair price to replace a product that comes with unavoidable wear and tear. I'm disappointed that this problem has not been addressed with more concern and focus. I still will forever love Apple products, but I'm also forever disappointed with this one.

    poor quality

i have had four of these chords and every single one has had a short near the lightning end of the chord, you need to do something about quality control/durability to make sure the chords don't become faulty within a few months of having them.

    Apple I'm not amused!

I am disgusted with these poor quality cables! My cable only lasted 4 week now I have to buy another one for £15. My old 30-pin cable last 2 years and this happened in a month, I'm very disappointed. If I wanted to be ripped off I would have visited eBay not apple. Get you're s*** together!

    Rubbish

Having the same issues. Still have my original iPhone cable which works, and all the others form the 3G, 3GS & 4S, all still work. iPhone 5 cable broke within 3 months of getting the phone. Since then I shelled out on an adaptor and continue to use my old 30-pin cable. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL

There Needs to be a Minus Star

Have two iPhone 5's and on IPod 5 all included cables have failed. All have been replaced multiple times. Where is my replacements? Why do I have to keep buying something that doesn't last more than about a month?

    LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS APPLE!!!!

This new cable is truly awful. I have had to get a new cable replacement each month because the cable breaks so often. After one of my cables broke I took it to apple and they told me from now on unplug the charger only by the plastic piece and never by the cord. Took their advice but yet again, TWO DAYS LATER my charger needs to be replaced. Only works at a certain angle and then in a week stops working all together. On to my 8th cable now and I'm sure the next one will break again. APPLE LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS AND THESE REVIEWS. Please rebuild this charger cable because it is not functioning properly.

    Terrible

This thing doesn't even deserve one star. I had my first cable for about three months before one day, I connected my FULLY FUNCTIONAL USB to my computer and my phone would not be recognised. I also got a "Power Surge on Hub Port" error and my phone would reconnect and disconnect repeatedly. I thought that this may be an issue with my computer so I attempted to charge my phone through the power socket and then discovered my cable was no longer functioning properly. It would disconnect and reconnect and I had to move it around to get it to work. As the days went on it just got worse to the point where it stopped working almost completely. I returned it and was given a loan cable from the mobile store. That one worked for about a week before again, it was working fine (in fact charging at the time) until I tried to plug it into my computer and it would not connect, this time with a driver error message. So I tried to reinstall the driver and it still would not work. Then, again I tried to charge my iphone via power socket and the cable would not work AT ALL. I gave it half an hour and tried again, it would charge on one side. As the days went on it got worse and worse to the point where it did not work at all. So as you see both my stopped working after a computer connection error. I returned to the store (they had received my new cable by then) and explained this to them and now they have sent my iphone away. Why must we pay all this money for such a huge inconvenience? It is absolutely ridiculous. Zero stars for this. Sort it out Apple!

    Disappointing

I love my iPhone 5 (purchased about 6 months ago) and I loved my iPhone 4 (still have it and use it as an iPod) however the chargers for both iPhones are of such poor quality!! It is so dissappointing and I am so dissatisfied! I already have had to replace my iPhone 5 charger and have replaced my iPhone 4 charger 2 times. I don't understand why apple doesn't produce a reliable charger that will last More than a few months! I wish I could give ZERO stars

    Terrible

This charger stops functioning after only a short time of using it, and is not even close to long enough. And I wish Apple had never switched to this charger. That was an awful decision for the company.

    This is ridiculous

Man I just brought this charger less then a month ago I can't believe it's broken already! I'm extremely up set because of apples greed of making you pay all that money for a charger that has the life span of a dandelion!

    Flimsy and Broken

It's a great design, but the thing is very very flimsy and easily breakable. The wires near the end of the cord (where it connects to the phone) break very easily. And mine doesn't come under the warranty just because I tried putting tape around it to see if that would work. My advice to the people who have these cords is to be flippin' gentle with how you put the cord in or out of the phone.

Buying Cable Barons cables from now on

With a new iPad mini ad iPhone, it was time for me to buy a few cables. I purchased one of these cables, but have since switched to buying my cables from Cable Barons. They're similar to the Apple Lightning to USB cables, but are reinforced with a fabric external skin. Australian based guys. Haven't received yet, but looks good so far!

    Absolutely ridiculous product ever made

If Apple can make such a nice piece of work then this one is the horrible. Make one that's durable and not the one that easily breaks. This makes me think it's made not to last so you can get people to spend more money than they should. This is very frustrating!!!!

I cannot beleive Apple could endorse this peace of &*"/!

I have 5 ipods and an Ipad. Since the model went 8 pin, (mini) they come apart in less then a month. I mean, i connect my machines everyday and the inside wiring is so small and the tension needed to connect and disconnect the ipads is high, so within weeks, the contacts loosen up and it autodestructs itself. IT is obviously a design flaw.. a major one at that.. I will no longer buy any Ipods, i'm selling my ipad for tablette, and good ridance.. That's what you call a real flop that cable... nuls any benifit from having an Ipod or Ipad. APPLE, Get your stuff together.. your loosing clients that made you what you are today.!!!
