    Awesome charger

    While most don't have a through understanding of electronics, as I do, Those that complain about it not working are probably using a 1amp charger with the long cable. Highly recommend using the iPad charging block (just because it says for iPad doesn't mean it won't work with the iPhone, iPhone will pull what it can handle up to the limit on its own) with this cable for best results. Longer cable = more resistance to power coming down the line, hence the higher power charging block recommendation.

    seems the reviews are right

    I bought this 2m cable despite reading the reviews, it becomes braided at the base of the lightning connector, it's tearing off the joint and soon will be desting for the bin.

    Pretty Good Cable

    Ive purchased two 2m cables from the Apple Store and i have had no problems at all. The only reason I bought a 2nd one was because my brother lost his cord so I gave him my old one.

    Waste of money! but what other choice do we have?...

    Im pretty convinced I've spent more on replacement cords than I have the actual phone over the years... and I'm someone who does take care of their things. My charger doesn't leave my bedside, I dont yank on the cord to remove it but its still the constant problem, bends and inevitably splits... Sort it out Apple, how many more complaints do you need????

    Does anyone at Apple care?

    The quality of your charging cords is extremely poor. I have replaced the cords many times. I decided to get a 2nd party cord, and now my iphone says its not certified. You need to build a better cord. Did you understand the previous sentence? YOU NEED TO BUILD A BETTER CORD. How many bad reviews does it take to have you act? Just wondering.

    Should have saved my receipt

    I thought a genuine Apple product would be superior to the knockoffs. Not so much. And I'm not twelve years old - I take care of my stuff! I'm going to try again (love the length) but read the fine print and keep the receipt this time!

    Absolute garbage

    I'm sick and tired of these 'lightning' cables breaking. All the reviews on here are correct.. the sheath bunches up at the connector and eventually splits, and breaks. I have replaced my cables two times now. This should not be happening when I paid over $35 for the cable (likely costs less than $2 to manufacture). I vow to not buy another apple product again.

    Cable broke really quick 6ft 2mm is really slow

    I love apple but their cords are terrible. My cord got black lines on it that stopped it from being able to charge. And I bought a 6ft 2mm and it's not any faster then the 0.5. The 2.4 car charger works awesome though.

    bad

    please sort out these rubbish phone chargers, they break constantly. i would give 0 stars but i dont believe thats possible. before you proceed to give me more apps that i cannot delete and take up endless amounts of storage space, fix your chargers so they last longer then 1 hour.

    Design fault of cables

    I am now on my 5th genuine apple lightning to USB cable, 3 one metre, 3 two metre. Every cable has split at the Lightning end, exposing the wires. So far I have spent £145 on cables! Absolutely disgusting. When are you going to design a cable that doesn't split, or cost a fortune.

    I am a very careful user, so it is not as if I am a rough handler.

    Broken Charger

    I have had the Lighting USB Cable for 1-2 months and it is already falling apart on me. The rubber that protects the wires in the cord is tearing and crinkling. Because of this, the wires would get damaged and it would not charge my phone. I suggest that Apple should make the USB Cables out of a more durable material instead of rubber.

    Are people swinging from these cords?

    I have only had to replace one OE cable since the first Iphone and I have multiple iPhones, Ipads, iPods, and the kids have only ruined one cable since the iPods that were under a gig. This cable is thicker and holds up just fine and the length is very handy. I won't even buy aftermarket anymore because I have had such good luck with this 2M cable and every other Apple OE charging/sync cable. Stop abusing the cable and treat it like your ability to charge your phone depends on it. I always roll them in in a loose circle and pull them by the plug and they last for years, I haven't even unpackaged the cables from the last five iPhones. I am buying another 2m cable tonight because I like the length, too bad these don't come with the Apple products originally. Take care of your cables and they will last fine.

    Not as described

    These said genuine Apple?
    When used oh iPad they charged,eventually. Try to use the iPad whilst connected impossible. All sort of strange events,typing all over the place and many other odd events with jig saw puzzles. Streaming almost impossible, all in all a total failure.
    This only seemed to happen since last update.i wonder did Apple slap on a nasty file to prevent anything other than Apple genuine leads work.
    Some time ago I bought a new plug for iPad which looked like the real thing, the iPad overheated and when I took it into an Apple shop the were able to identify the plug as a fake. So into the bin it has gone.i hate to admit but have had to pay the price for the real item!, it hurts but having to pay for a new pad would be worse.

    Cable has a life span of less than a year

    I've owned the iPhone 5, 5s and 6. Every original cable from these phones is now broken, and a few replacements are as well. Every cord suffers from the same problem: tearing and breaking at the interface between the lightning connector and the cord. This is easily the worst cord I have ever owned.

    Horrible Experience

    I've had this cord for less than one year and it has died. I only use it at work and it's never been dropped or bent. While plugged into my phone, my battery actually now decreases. This cord is entirely too expensive to last as long as iPhone accessories purchased from Five and Below.

    Chargers!!!!!!!!

    Dear Apple, my name is Christine and I would just like to talk about your chargers. First of all, I bought 3 official iPad charger that wear $40 dollars each. I bought one last month (March) and I felt quite positive that that was going to survive 2 months or more. I bought one in January and I was quite happy that it survived. I bought one at the start of April and I was quite sure that would last a couple months.

    Now it’s the present day, my first charger stopped working last week and that charger was in great condition! The white wrapping hasn’t started peeling off at the top, but then it decided to stop and I’m quite angry about that. My second charger, I used it time to time, on the last week of February it decides to die! The charger looked like it was fresh out the box, it was like a pizza that is in good condition and you decide not to touch it and them when u touch it you see some mould like wtf! I’ve seen and read some of these reviews and these people are as angry as I am. My third charger I literally just bought it on the first week of April and this is the third week of April and it decides not to work, I am really angry about that! APPLE YOU KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS JUST PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT PLEASE AND THANK YOU!

    P.S MY IPAD IS IN GREAT CONDITION.

    3 years strong

    Bought myself one of the 2m cables when I first got my iPhone5, so it may have been even longer than 3 years ago, but it basically lasted fine right up until today (when it tangled with my headphones and in a savage fit of rage I destroyed them both).
    Will definitely purchase another one today and hopefully I get another 3years out of it.

    Also confused

    I have had a similar experience to "confused" who wrote that after a while the cable seems to fall out with the charging plug. My one star is for the original apple 1m cables, I was on here to decide whether to buy the 2m cable. My Apple cable lasted for a shorter period than cheap generic replacement products I've had but all only seem to last for a short time. After buying several cables I thought my phone had eventually died after the most recent ios update as the battery was on red and refusing to charge. As my last cable cost £1 I was thinking I'd try another genuine Apple product. After reading the review "confused" I've now tried connecting all the cables I've had to the computer and they work just fine, but don't work with alternative charging plugs that successfully charge up other devices. It seems inexplicable, maybe the USB connections become loose in the plug but are fine on the computer, who knows. Now I know the solution isn't buying more and more charging leads I won't bother for now but will need to sort something out for holidays where I'll have to use a plug and not a computer. The funny thing is that the plug doesn't seem to be faulty as it usually works with a new cable....but only for a few months before failing, very strange.

    Confused

    I've had my iPhone 5 for a couple of years now and the phone itself has never given me any problems. However, if I had a pound for every time I've had to buy a charger I'd be a very rich lady. It seems to me that after a couple of months the phone and the chargers fall out with each other. I get a message informing me the charger is not compatible or it just doesn't work at all. And yet - the strange thing is - if I connect those very same cables to my laptop - hey presto! The phone will charge. This is the same with charging docks. They work every time. So I'm wondering - maybe it's not the cable. The issue could be the relationship it has with the charging plug that causes the problems. If it isn't, how is it the very same cables charge the phone while connected to the laptop? So, I tried another charging plug. Nope. Not a chance.

    So, judging from my own experience, it seems that after a few weeks/months of use, the cables - Apple or otherwise - will eventually stop charging when connected to a plug, but will continue to charge when connected to a laptop. I hope this helps and maybe Apple can look into it.

    No issues with my 2m cable

    I actually never had an iPhone until the 6s came out. Too many said screen cracks and cables are expensive to buy when they break.

    For me I haven't had any troubles with my 2m cable and the cable that came with my iPhone. I'm buying a second cable because I left that at my aunties. My phone is charged perfectly fine, the cable hasn't even split considering I have had it 6months almost. There's been no problems with my battery life and I'm quite happy to purchase another one. I didn't even read the reviews before I purchased my first one.

    It's called trial and error. For me there are no errors with this cable. Just look after it as you would brushing your teeth everyday.
