All Good for FG Series 1

    • Written by Andrew P from Glen Iris

Bought for FG Falcon which had the 30 pin plug installed. All worked fine when I tried last night out of the box. Phone and ipod started fine and charging in the car. So far so good. Price very exxy though.

    Completely Useless

    • Written by Mark S from West Chiltington

Bought this to connect my iPhone 6s to my Range Rover 30 pin interface. It will play music that is playing and selected on the phone but not allow you to access the library as with a standard ipod. It will also not play video through the aftermarket rear headrest screens I have where I have plugged an apple 30 pin cable into the aux input - this works perfectly fine with a traditional ipod. Its basically utterly useless and expensive. The fact that it will not fit into the lightening port if you have a case on the phone is therefore an irrelevance because there is no point in plugging it in.

Does not fit older HiFi dock connectors

    • Written by David B from Fairfax

Technically it works as music does play. I get a warning advising this accessory is not compatible. I feel mocked as I haven't folded to throw more money towards an inferior Bluetooth speaker. Because the battery is so poor on my iPhone I need to have it charge anyway. Can someone please explain why this dongle doesn't work? The price alone is insulting, having it not work is just mean spirit

    poorly designed

    • Written by William C from ZANESVILLE

Bought one without thinking to see if it would connect to my iPhone with the case on.

Got home and discovered it would not and returned it for a refund.

How is it possible to come up with a design that would not take into account the need for it to fit into a cased iPhone??

Works great. iPad Pro. Akai Synthstation 49.

    • Written by Peter H from Belmont

After being gifted an iPad Pro to replace my older iPad with 30 pin connector, the newer iPad was not compatible with my Akai Synthstation 49 keyboard.
I ordered a cheap 3rd party adapter cable but it didn't work.
Further research shows this adapter has technology way beyond the 3rd party cables simple wire crossings.

Picked this up at the apple store for 29 bucks.
Plugged right in with full audio routing and midi control with all my synth and other music applications as before. But now with much better performance of the newer iPad.
For applications that require docking to 30 pin for audio and midi control, don't waste time on other cables.
Buy it, try it, return it if it doesn't work for you. :)

Works - but not with a case on

    • Written by Terese S from Itasca

I had been researching for a product that will work with my Bose docking base. I purchased a gen6 ipod touch with this adapter. When I got my new ipod in the mail, i hooked it all up and was excited that it did work. This morning I noticed my ipod did not charge over night, so i attempted to hooked it up to the old 30pin charging cable with the adapter.... did not work.

Upon reading these comments, i read about the case.... So i took off the small plastic case, which was not on the first time i hooked it up and low and behold, it worked again.

So, in order to use this adapter, you can not have the case on the ipod, or phone in the other person's case. ~ Reason for only 4 stars not 5.

This adapter is perfect. I have a "regular" Apple dock that is connected to my stereo system that wirelessly sends sound to speakers all over the house. I would plug one of my several iPods filled with music into the dock as one of the several sound sources (in addition to CDs, cassettes, videotape, reel-to-reel tape, vinyl, etc.) and have music everywhere. I also have the full line-up of SiriusXM radio (hundreds of channels) which I had gotten for the car, but when you have it, you can also get it on your computer or smartphone via WiFi and therefore I would have all those channels in the house. Unfortunately, my old iPhone 4S would only pick up the Wifi in my home office, but not out in the living room where the stereo system is. However, my new iPhone SE picks WiFi up all over my house (and even outside on the patio). With this Apple Lightning to 30-pin Adapter, which fits in the regular Apple dock no problem, I can now plug my iPhone SE into it and now have Satellite Radio all over the house, and even while music is playing, the iPhone is being charged. So to me, the Lightening to 30-pin Adapter is A++, a total winner for me.

    Terrible. Don't get fooled.

    • Written by Gabriel B from FORT LAUDERDALE

This is a terrible adapter. Just because it's on apple's website doesn't mean its good. It lasted a year. You're better off buying a 3rd party adapter for much cheaper and get the same result. It lasts the same amount of time. TRUST ME. It doesn't last, doesn't connect properly, get error messages. No different then a 3rd party adapter.

    Works Great but big flaw

    • Written by Micol C from Harriston

I bought this product to dock my IPhone into my car stereo (which has a 30-pin connector). It has worked great. The only problem is that it has a major design flaw - it will not work with most phone cases because the base of the adapter is the 30-pin size. After wearing out three phone cases by taking them on and off twice a day I have finally given up on this product. Great product but could have been designed much better.

    Expensive but works well

    • Written by Elle F from Ludgershall

Purchased to use with my JVC Sound System for teaching fitness classes. I was using an aftermarket cheap adapter, but the sound quality was poor and the volume on both iPhone and JVC had to be at maximum to be loud enough for the class. Apple Live Chat assured me that with this genuine Apple adapter the sound quality and volume would both be exactly as they would be without the adapter, i.e., quality up to scratch and loud enough without having to have the volume at max. Sure enough, he was right. £29 is a high price to pay for a small adapter but in my case it was definitely worth while. Just be sure to check that it will be compatible with your sound system, and if your requirements are high quality sound and volume then buy this. If you're not bothered about volume and sound quality, get a cheap one from Amazon.

Only a ~2 YEAR~ shelf life? Apple, plz check on any pin-durability issues

    • Written by Nathan M from San Diego

This wouldn't be too bad if this thing was like $10 - $15. But for over $30 bucks with tax it should at least last 4-5 years. I use it with my wired car-to-phone adapter in order to listen to app music, YT, etc. (there's no comparison between wireless audio and wired audio, wired wins hands-down). I keep having to buy a new one of these every 2 years. I'm always careful with it and never leave it out in the sun or anything so I don't know what's going on. From now on I guess I'll have to take it out of the car just to be sure it's not from residual heat. Apple, please check on any durability issues with the pins on both sides.

    Works Great!

    • Written by Kristina P from Brampton

I have a generation 6 iPod Touch which this works great for! It does what it's supposed to! However, there is a slight design flaw, the lightening bit wont work if you have any sort of case on your iPod/iPhone. It needs to be flush with the bottom of the device, so don't purchase this if you have an Otter-box or anything you don't plan on removing. I take away 1 star for that reason. I personally have an easily removable case, so it's no big deal for me.

Should have read the reviews BEFORE purchasing. It does not work with when using a Lifeproof case. On the upside, returning it so far was easy.

Did not work with the slim case on my iPod touch or my Otterbox Strada case on my iPhone. It seems like the lightening cord would work if you removed the case.

    Good but not for all

    • Written by Kara G from London

I bought this to use as a connector for my phone to docking station. I have an iphone 7plus so it's sizeable and weighty. Whilst it worked in the station and music played fine and it charged, due to the weight of the phone it did not sit right and was quite slanted and looked like it could topple over at any stage! I've now returned for the connector with a lead. So if you have the plus size - get the other Lightning adapter with the lead - much more suitable!

    Adapter on a Ruarkaudio 4i

    • Written by John S from Todmorden

Moving from an older iPhone to iPhone5 has meant that I could not use the Ruarkaudio's dock. This lack became increasingly annoying therefore I looked into the options for connectivity using some sort of adapter. Obviously, I read the reviews posted here and was very worried about whether the Lightening adapter would work - it's rather expensive. I asked Ruark's advice service and was told the genuine Apple Lightening adapter worked fine, with the adapter-support available from Proporta. I can report that the four products, now mutually connectable, work in perfect harmony.
