    Lightning Fast Faults!

    • Written by Damian M from Uppingham

I still have at least 8 '30 pin' cables for iPods, iPhones & iPads, which have all lasted all this time, with not one fault.
Since my partner and I bought each other the iPhone 5 in January, we've had 3 faulty 'Lightning' cables each. Yes, Apple will replace them under the warranty, providing you return the faulty one! If not, they will relieve your credit card of £15.00 and leave you with yet another cable which will break within a month.
This is clearly a very poor design and one which needs to be addressed by Apple immediately.
Come on guys. Your quality control is going down the pan here!

    Seriously APPLE?! Fix the problem!

    • Written by Joe S from Bay minette

As with the majority of the reviews this product is far subpar. I enjoy Apple products as much as the. Ext person but these light ing cord are rediculous. I have had my iPhone 5 since it came out and it works fine dispite use and abuse plus an otterbox... So i guess thanks Otterbox! But these cords are useless. Every one from apple has broken within months and all third-party chargers that stay together end up quiting and i get an "accessory not supported" message after using the stupid thing for weeks every single day with no issues. All i can figure is ur updates mess up the connection somehow. I would glad to pay more for a charger if it worked longer than a few months, even though I think $20 is too much for a flippin charger... I want quality over quantity and will pay for it if I have to.

0 Star is the real rating

Charge cables are never an issue with any of my other audio or video equipment. NEVER.
I'm a pro in video production so at any given moment I have a dozen or two pieces of equipment to keep powered and charged.
Charge cables are ALWAYS an issue with any Apple product be it laptop, phone or tablet.
Poor design, poor quality control, and obviously engineered to fail often.
Seems desperate to me that the second most valuable company in the world must supply poor quality and then REQUIRE their licensed inferior design to carry 5v at 2amps through 2 conductors frequently unsuccessfully.

    Terrible Product

    • Written by Brianna H from Calgary

I have had the USB Cable for 1-2 months and it is already falling apart on me. The rubber that protects the cord is tearing, and revealing the wire within the cable. Also, the USB Cable will not charge my phone so I have to position it correctly intruder to charge my phone. Im tired of buying new cables every month and I suggest that Apple should make there cables out of a better material so it does not tear.

    Very cheap quality.

    • Written by Stephanie S from Glasgow

I bought my iPhone 5 in November last year, and tomorrow I have to go replace my cable for the 3rd time. When will Apple design one of a better quality, that doesn't stop working after a few weeks? I refuse to spend any more money on these cables and will be sending a complaint.

This product is so poorly manufactured, not to mention the price of it. I've now gone through 2 cables and I can't be bothered to get another one because it's rubbish.

    4 broke since christmas

    • Written by Dawn T from retford

Well, we both got iphone 5's for christmas, and we'd priviosly had iphone 4's for 2 years. I still to this very day, have my 30 pin iphone. 4, origional cable fully working from over 2 years ago. So why do the lightningg conncter break so easily? They loose connection for abit and then just die, and now you expect yet another £15 out of my purse? When working the cable is very fast to charge and i like the both way charging, but seriosly, letting the phone down, bad reviews to all my friends and family! I advise to get the adapter from. 30 pin to 8 pin using the old cable, apple stil steals a further £25 from us, but at least they won't break! Fix it apple!

Like everyone else, I have drawers full of 32-pin chargers. The lightning charger, however, doesn't last. The lightning end has become limp and flaccid (within months) and charging my iPhone is a frustrating challenge. The iPhone 5 is great - but it needs power to work. Sort it out, Apple!

    The Worst!

    • Written by Rachelle N from Floral Park

As much as I love Apple, the company makes the most fragile accessories and cables. Of course, they are not standard so you have to order from them. They seem to break under normal use and I am always afraid that they will fray and break down.
When you need to use your equipment it is stressful to find out that you can't charge something.

    Apple, start making better cables.

    doesn't charge anymore..

    • Written by Mikaela M from Sandbach

i've had my ipad mini for up to 3 months now and the cable cord doesn't work anymore, i'm not paying £15 if it's going to break again. I see people have the same problem as me, that i have to move the cord to a certain spot so that my ipad will charge. Apple needs to sort out this problem and they should replace the broken ones to brand new ones to the costumers.

    So bad, so embarrassing

    • Written by Vlad S from Toronto

For a company like Apple, or for any company for that matter, it is just downright embarrassing to make a product that consistently fails. I never ever had another cable where the insulation just spontaneously started to fray at the flex points. I've had 2 cables, both gently handled, both failed, with the insulation just fraying from the inside wire.

This cord broke in a few months after purchasing new. A cord from a different brand lasted longer. This product is a disgrace to Apple product quality and the company in general. How hard is it to make a decent cord? It's a joke

    Lighting Cable

    • Written by Mackenzie N from Midlothian

I have gone through 6 lighting cables in the past 3 months and spent over $80 on lighting Cables. I think it's absolutely ridiculous that the cord breaks and stops working no matter how much I took care of it it continuously broke.

    Horrible cable from apple

    • Written by Kirene R from Easy Stroudsburg

This is like the 5th time I have to buy a cable. I am so upset about the waste of money. Yet, I have to buy it from apple because when you give other non-apple kinds a try they tend to fail after a while too.

Very disappointing apple. What are you even doing about it?
