I am a person who is always on the go and using my phone and would always hate and be paranoid my phone would die when I am out and about. When i heard about the apple charging case i fell in love with it but didn't want to fork out the money. I then went to New York for a week and decided that i would be out everyday all day so i bought the case. I am in love with it, my phone stays at 100% from the time i wake up till around 5pm and then it goes from 100% and drops normally through the duration of the actual phone batter. I highly recommend this product. The weight is a big much but you get use to it.

It's extremely handy , especially if you need to be out for the whole day.

I have the iPhone 6s and the battery still runs out pretty quick, so when connecting it to my Apple Watch the battery died in less than 6 hours - which is terrible considering I'm usually out for about 8+ hours everyday. The only problem I have with the case is that I want to be able to put the case on without having the charge my phone whilst it isn't on a battery percentage lower than 20. When you put the case on it immediately charges it when not necessary. It means you have to bring two cases - unless of course there is a way to turn it off and on that I do not know about? Anyways it's a great product £79 is worth it and both apple and beats earphones can connect to it perfectly fine.

Dead After 6 months - just like the reviewer right below me

Amazing that when I came here to write this review, the most recent one posted pretty much mirrors mine - Gerry H's review, that should be right below mine.

I bought mine in January 2016, I still have the receipt. Around a month ago it started acting strange. I would wake up after having it plugged in all night, and the phone would be charged, but the case had no charge at all. If I took the case off and charged it separately, it would then take a charge.

Fast forward to now, just about 6 months after I purchased it. Completely dead. Won't charge at all. Great while it lasted, but $100 for something that only lasts 6 months? Sorry Apple, you guys missed the mark on this one.

    Stopped Charging after 6 months

In all of the years that I have been purchasing apple products, this is the first product I have purchased that appears to use subpar material. The battery should last more than 6 months and during its 6 month life it has been very errratic in its performance. It is dead now. What a waste of $110.00. I would not purchase this product. It does not meet any of apple standards via support or function. This is one of their true failures.

    Great Case

Many reviews on here don't really represent this case. It really is great. It does not get too hot, of course it generates heat due to it actually working and charging (just as a phone does....). But its sleek and nice. Only thing I will say is that it is a bit heavy, I personally don't mind that at all though. Does not add a LARGE amount of bulk as does the mophie and some other battery cases. It is very comfortable to hold, and really charges well. I see it added almost 2x the amount of batter that my 6s would use. Its 1pm and still have 100% battery and my case is at 71% still... so needless to say I am very happy with this, and recommend it completely. Thanks for another great product Apple!

    Exceptional at first

I have had this product for about a month or so now and it has always kept me at a full charge, as if I had two batteries and I hardly ever take it off except to play music inside my car because the port does not fit through the hole. The only problem I have with the case is that it does not have an on and off switch. Recently I have noticed my battery life has not been as good as it used to and in the past few days I have been experiencing difficulties with it. My actual phone, not the charger case itself, has decided to stop charging completely with or without the case quite a few times now and the only way to reverse it is to restart my phone completely. I believe this is due to the constant current running through my phone and it is making my charger port and battery deteriorate over time. I am scared to keep using this case in fear that it will eventually result in my phone not being able to charge at all. It receives two stars from me because it did me very well in the beginning, but now I might have to purchase a new phone so I would not recommend this product and if you do buy it, use it frequently and not consistently. I would actually like for Apple to replace my phone with a new one and if so they can contact me at my email used to send this review.

4 3/4 stars really but it's really very good

As with any Apple product it is extremely functional and well integrated with the phone it supports. I previously considered the Mophie Juice Pack but did not want to carry yet another adapter for my devices so I've been carrying a small Anker 3200mAh unit in my briefcase for several years. As I needed to replace an Apple leather case I had received over the holidays (hint: it's terrible) I decided to try this case and I find it was a very good choice. Because it's Apple I know to expect a higher level of integration to the iPhone and indeed the Notifications dropdown shows the charge state of both phone and battery case. I don't mind the grippy feel and so far not too much lint has accumulated on the case that others have commented on but maybe I just don't keep that much in my pockets. Would like one or two more color choices but the grey is good enough.

My only criticism and why I'd take away part of a star is that access to the earplug jack is somewhat buried and made plugging my earbuds a bit tricky. Also was not able to plug my Bose QC25 headphones in directly since the connector has a 90 degree turn to it and of course, no adapters at the Apple Store but that's more Bose than Apple. The Apple rep in the store suggested I try the local Radio Shack (we have one of the few left standing) but the guy there was more interested in selling me a new headphone. Some of the comments about using a 3.5mm audio jack extender here and elsewhere suggested the the microphone would no longer work but I think it is because they did not order an adapter with three rings instead of two, that third ring is the microphone connection; I found several online but got a Vastar 3.5mm audio jack extender and so far that's worked fine for me.

    Average product

The battery life is ok but the case reduces Wifi range dramatically. So much so that I would say I wasted money buying the case.

New preferred choice of battery case

Comparing my past experiences with battery cases (Mophie) and now with this Apple battery case, this is now my preferred choice. Although it does not give the same amount of charge the shape and how this case feels in your hand is superior. If you need more charge, use the Mophie, but if you just want your phone to last a good amount longer and care about the aesthetics and feel, then go with this smart battery case hands down. The only reason I gave this case a rating of 4 stars, is because of the lint magnet it is, but that comes with the territory and the rubber nature of this case.

    Can't live without it

Ok so this doesn't get 5 stars because let's face it the iPhone should have been made to last longer than my burrito bowl at lunchtime. - Life isn't perfect and we love our iPhones but hate the lamentable battery life. So along comes this large and fairly heavy battery thing. My wife bought it for my birthday. I put it on the phone and thought ' it's heavy as - forget it i'm going to exchange it for the nice tan leather case apple make'. But then I realised I'd already had 2 of those nice leather cases and they break and fall apart after only a few weeks. So i charged the phone and this case and thought let's try it out.

WOW. What can I say. A modern miracle! I can eat my burrito. Then have donuts at 3pm. And my iPhone 6 is still going. I'm still rocking a hefty charge! Then chicken and rice for dinner (because i'm into bodybuilding) and unbelievable. The iPhone is refusing to go to sleep.

So what can I say. It's a great accessory and you won't worry about charging your iPhone during the day, ever.

    Great Case

Great build, slick and not bulky unlike some other cases. Also very convenient unlike other cases when it comes to charging, the case takes the same charging cord as the phone.

    Exceeded expectations

There reviews had me put off but I've learned to embrace the hump and I love it. I wanted more battery life and the case delivers. With third party cases I had no interest in having to use micro USB. The few lightning port battery cases out there all had questionable reviews and accounts of the cases breaking from short falls.

This case looked like a flimsy rubber case online, however it is surprising well built, shock absorbent, and grippy. The grip is great and exactly what I wanted. Does it pick up some lint... Well yeah, because it's gripable! Button presses are solid. I don't care about the aesthetics of the hump and personally the outrage reviews made no sense because a battery case is for a niche market. At any rate, the hump actually created a nicer grip experience buy effectively rounding the back side, which likens the feel to that of the Moto X/G. Much better than the rectangle that is a plain iPhone.

Thought I'd regret spending $100 on a case. I do not and would recommend to anyone that requires more battery life.

    Good case at first

When I bought this a few weeks ago it was great, the battery life was fantastic. Now, a few weeks later the battery life is still great however it doesn't detect when it's been plugged in too well. I'll plug it in for charging and every time I move it it will vibrate as if it's been unplugged and plugged in. Now it will just do that randomly without even being moved. I've tried 4 different cables and using my Macbook Pro or a normal PC and it's the same issue.

It's still great for battery life, but it's just a shame the connections die that quickly, it gets frustrating charging at work and having your desk vibrate every minute or 2 to say "oh look at me!"

    Great accessory for iPhone

When using my iPhone as a mobile hotspot on and off through the day I'd be lucky to get 6-8 hours worth of battery life. Now, I can travel long distances without the bother of charging it off my laptop, hoping the train has a socket, or by carrying round an extra battery pack for it...

Fortunately I use Apple headphones anyway, so that isn't a problem, although I will no longer be able to use a separate pair that I have as a backup!

Not as bad as it looks

Read all the reviews , and decided to try it on my own. The case feels really great in my hands and the battery works wonder, I had bought the white first but it retain to much dirt, so I returned it and bought the gray one and love it. The hump is not as bad as everyone reports. The headphone jack is a problem and more colors are definitely needed, but all in all a solid product, gets the job done and would recommend it.

    Charging case is awesome!!!

I absolutely love this case!! It looks odd at first glance but when you put it in your hand it's amazing. I use my phone a lot and this battery is so good. I have tried mophie and other brands before but they are to big and uncomfortable to hold. I absolutely love my apple case.

    Does what it says...

A nice case, it's a little on the heavy and bulky side, but what do you expect from a case with a battery in it. The main thing is I can easily get through the day now with battery!

The headphone socket at the bottom means I can no longer use my earphones when listening to music as there's a good 1cm before you reach the phone jack, so bear that in mind.

The case itself charges pretty quickly, and as some have mentioned in other reviews the phone battery does go down a little with the case battery, but the phone then soon charges back to 100% from the case battery so don't worry about that.

    Great Idea!

The case works great and it keeps the phone charged. I'm a medium user, so I almost never run down the battery case and start using the iPhone battery. Its and great idea and no switches to be concerned with. It just works!

However apple, It would be cool if it came in 2 other colors.

    iPhone 6s Smart Battery Case

I love this battery case! I have had it for about 2 months and haven't been without power ever since. Very durable, as I have dropped my phone many times since I purchased!
I was a loyal Mophie user until I saw this!

Only drawback? Colors. I need colors!!

Disappointment – Good for two months only

I thought it was great at first. You expect that something you buy for a $100 will last longer than two months and won't brick your phone for hours. I'm writing this on my mac because it is the second night in a row that my phone battery was drained by this thing (while connected to the power) and after heating all day. I hope my phone restarts after this, I've been waiting for 40 minutes.

    In any c a s e – I strongly recommend against buying it.

This shouldn't happen with product this expensive. I was happy to pay premium for what I thought were apple standards. Now I feel I was ripped off, and the hassle of having my phone bricked on a work day is even worse.
