    C;osure stuck - no replacement

    • Written by Timothy M from Farmington

So, after 2 years of wear. my 38mm Apple Watch Stainless Steel Link band's closure is stuck! Went to charge it and I could not get it off my wrist!! No damage, not banging the wrist, no nothing. It just did not come off!!

The left side of the butterfly closure opens - but not the right. With some difficultly, I was able to pull it loose by getting a finger nail under it. It is an obvious failure in workmanship as the band is in excellent condition (confirmed by the Apple Genius that looked at it)

But as it is on a different watch (a 4, not the 3) it is not under warranty. No butterfly closure replacement part available. No discount on a new one.

Out $349.00!! So for all the great description on this page about the engineering of the product, let me be the first to sy - DO NOT BUY IT. The closure has some defect and Apple is not going to stand behind it.

    Keeps breaking

    • Written by Chad H from Edmonton

This band has broken on me 3 times in the last couple of years. The first time, it was replaced because I had purchased Apple Care on the watch... and I had a couple of extra links that I have used to replace the broken ones. This thing might be precision machined out of stainless steel... but it doesn't hold up. I would expect that a $600 stainless steel band would last at least the life of the watch. I have had 7 other stainless steel banded watches in my life, and not one has ever broken just by wearing it. I now have to replace the band again, at my own cost this time. I am not impressed at all. I am very disappointed and I would not recommend this watch band at all. I wish I had never bought it in the first place.

Read this before purchasing. Not worth the money.

    • Written by Cameron M from Stettler

I bought this band a year ago and the band itself has now just failed, past the warranty period. Don’t get me wrong, it’s comfortable and stylish but with a short lifespan of just over a year, not worth it the money. I though that for the premium price, I would get a premium quality unit capibale of years of service that would allow me to upgrade my watch multiple times, sadly this is not the case. The extendable link system has failed and I have lost the whole unit. Luckily I did find it a short time later. I also found the closure touchy, at times it would pop too easily. My opinion, buy something aftermarket from amazon which I’m sure will last longer and not hurt as bad when you want to change.

    Sharp Edges Cut Your Wrist

    • Written by Pang Yen L from San Francisco

Do not guy this band. This is absolutely poorly designed product. I received this band for Christmas gift. I put it on and immediately felt the sharp edges all around my wrist. I could not believe Apple put this on the shelf. We were in different Apple store in various cities but could not find any store carried this band in the store to try it on. Now we understand the reason. Apple does not want you to try it before you buy it. This is not meant to be worn. Seriously!! It's over $450 for poor quality like this. I think it's a joke...

Do not Buy the Black Link Bracelet

    • Written by Gideon O from Rotherhithe

I used it for a couple of months and I realised that the parts of the bracelet that rest on my leather surface work desk has faded off. I didn't expect such a poor quality for a product of £578.48 in such a short period of time.

    HORRIBLE

    • Written by Jeffrey T from Hazleton

This thing scratched so easily. My band looks like it has been used for 20 years and it is only 3 months old. Apple should be replacing these!!!!

Looks terrible after a short time wearing

    • Written by PAUL B from SAN FRANCISCO

This scratches and wears so quickly it is not worth the price. I regret buying this and have reverted to the sports bands. Very unfortunate Apple made and sells this.

    Not built to last

    • Written by William S from Genoa

My stainless bracelet failed when one of the links would no longer stay attached to the clasp. Very disappointing for such a high dollar bracelet. I generally like Apple products, but this is a complete dud!

    Do NOT buy this online!

    • Written by Sean V from Calgary

Forget about all the horrible looking scratches you will get in matter of days and forget about the fact that it doesn't even look as good as how it looks in the pictures, if you have hairy wrist, nothing else would pull your wrist hair off like this band. That is why I suggest trying this band at the store before buying it. I cannot believe Apple has approved and sells something like this. So disappointed.

    Poor Quality Wristband

    • Written by RONA G from Kirkland

I had this watch for less than two months and the wristband is already scratched and the finish seems to be fading. Very disappointed as I expected a higher standard for an apple product especially at the steep price.
