I have had this bracelet for close to a year, there has been no wear and still looks brand new. I also purchased some extra links as I like a fairly loose fit. Overall very satisfied and ready for Apple Watch S3

I've owned my watch and band for over a year now wearing it almost every day. My watch has performed flawlessly and the band also has no discoloration at all. I own different kind of high end watches and I prefer to wear my I watch. Worth the money that I payed for both items.

    Finish wearing off near buckle

I have to agree with the other complaints about the finish wearing off. I too was told by Apple care it's not covered as it is considered "normal" wear and tear. So my only option is to buy another 500 dollar band? No thanks Apple.

    Closure problems

I have had no problem with the finish wearing off , as reported by others (owned a month) but have had repeated problems with the butterfly closure opening unexpectedly. I added links to cause a looser fit and that did not fix the problem. It appears that when the heal of my palm comes into contact with the bracelet it presses against one of the closure release buttons (the one closest to the palm) and it results in the bracelet opening. I don't know whether this is a malfunction or a design defect. I would think/hope that both butterfly release buttons should have to be pressed together to initiate opening. I would appreciate knowing if anyone else is experiencing a similar problem.

Please do not waste your money on this absolutely beautiful band

Why the negative review? Simple! While the band is a work of art, the finish wears off very easily and once worn off you will not want to wear the band. When I bought my Apple Watch, I specifically asked the salesperson if the finish was applied or was the metal black thru and thru? I was assured it was not a finish but rather the metal. I took his advice and walked out with the Series I watch. 90 days later the finish was beginning to wear around the buckle. 120 days in and the finish was gone. I took the watch back and complained as was told the finish was not guaranteed and it was abuse that caused the problem. Frankly I was very disappointed considering what I paid for the watch (new adopter). The manager of the Apple store felt somewhat guilty and gave me a new band as a courtesy. I put in on walked out and enjoyed the new one for exactly 120 days and the same thing happened again. Best plan would be to leave it in the box and only look at it. Great design but not high quality. Please do not waste your money on the amazingly beautiful band. You will be sorry!!

Space Link Bracelet being changed out

I wrote a review complaining about the $500+ space link bracelet coating wearing off. Apple is replacing mine.

The pure form of tetrahedral amorphous carbon coating (ta-C) should actually last up to 85 years. Changing the recipes reduces the material cost and obviously the abrasion resistance. Plating processes need very tight control and constant diligence. No room for a process out of tolerance.

The band is truly unique and good looking. Apple shouldn't cut costs and needs to move back to the "pure" form of ta-C and put some very tight process controls in place. Otherwise this won't stop.

    Finish failure

I really enjoyed the look, precision and finish. Most especially, the compliments! This was my daily wear watch as I am fully integrated with Apple products. That said, I was extremely disappointed when I noticed silver peaking through the finish at the typical wear points within 3 months of purchase. After 6 months, full stainless visibility at the wear points resulted in great disappointment with the product, considering the investment.

    Great strap very well made.

I purchased this as the standard sport band irritated me. It has a high price in comparison to the value of the watch. However, check the prices of other quality watch manufacturers steel straps and you will see that it’s reasonable. I have had mine now for nearly two years and it’s still perfect. It hasn’t discoloured or lost its coating. It is very comfortable very light you forget you are wearing it.

    Beautiful and very classy!

I just bought my new Apple Watch Series 2, and I ordered it with the space black stainless link bracelet. A bit more than I wanted to spend, but I love the look, and I knew I'd never get around to ordering it later. I also bought the black sport band for more everyday uses, but the link bracelet is definitely worth the extra money. Very highly recommended!

42mm space black bracelet - often imitated, never duplicated.

I've had mine for 3 days now, also have space black Milanase which my watch came with, and several Apple rubber ones, 5 to be exact. This is easily my favorite, as soon as I installed it on my watch I knew it was not going to be coming off any time soon ! It is made to go onto the 42mm space black stainless steel watch, it's just beautiful to look at !!! I was able to purchase mine basically brand new from eBay for half price, the seller said he only tried it for a few minutes and didn't like it, thank GOD ! Now it's mine, and I couldn't be any happier. Easily the best combination out there. The 42 space black stainless steel watch, and 42 space black stainless steel bracelet, just gorgeous !!!

    Beautiful.... To start with

Beautiful link bracelet out if the box, comfortable fit and I admired it constantly for a few weeks until..... The black DLC coating started to wear off revealing the bright shimmery silver steel underneath. To make matter worse it was on a link that you can't replace (ie/ attached to the butterfly mechanism)
I expect a little bit of wear, but to go down to the steel within a matter of months isn't acceptable for a product costing so much money.
When I took it into the Apple Store all I was met with was 'it's supposed to be like that'...
    Funnily enough I disagree...

Well made product, but for me, it's a no this time..

Great looking product and really well made but 2 things made me return my purchase

    1. The links nipped my skin, just now and again when I walked or lifted my arm there was a little nip from the links coming together which started to get annoying after a while

    2. The price, it cost more than my Apple Watch face, it's way over priced compared to the other straps, at £250 they would have had me hooked but £449 :( nah not this time, I could have purchased a brand new iPad for the same money
