Desirable Product with Great Options for the Future

    • Written by Jeffrey S from Warren

Great full range of sound. Volume is just right. I would like to see a future model that is water and dust-proof for beach and camping. Connectivity to linking multiple speakers for the party is also desirable. An optional bass resonator mode would be great. Longer battery duration to facilitate the party all night long and bass resonator would be a great upgrade as well. Thanks for a great product Apple with Apple Music subscription and hope to see these features in the future.

ok so the sound blows me away as well as the battery life. the one thing i cant stand is that apple owns beats now and they had to ruin it by adding a lightning cable instead of being like the rest of the world and using usb c

Good sound and volume but the bass seems too not get any louder past 60% while the rest of the sound increases. Good battery length

    Excellent features, adequate sound

I've owned the first generation Beats Pill, and this Pill+ is a significant improvement over it's predecessor in every aspect. Some of the most noticeable improvements include the Lightning connector for charging, which allows for travelling without the need to carry around an extra cable (works with iPhone charger no problem). The battery life seems strong, and bluetooth pairing is hassle-free and I haven't noticed any issues with interference. Sound quality, while improved, could still use some work. This speaker is able to go very loud, however the bass caps out around 85%, leading to a drastic reduction in quality at any volume beyond that. Mids are definitely lacking, but the highs have been toned down to a reasonable level so that they are not piercing at medium-high volumes. This thing supports AUX and also has a charge-out feature in case you need to plug in your phone while at the beach. Overall is this speaker worth it? In terms of overall package, features and compatibility with IOS devices, I'd say yes. But if you are purely concerned with sound quality, you can do better with certain competitors out there. I'd recommend keeping an eye out for a sale if you want the best value for your dollar.

About plugging older Apple products (ipod Nano 3 or Shuffles)

    • Written by Julie C from Montreal

Talking with employees at the store we thought the plug that come with the Shuffle would work (one end USB, the other end 3.5mm) but it didn't. The solution I found is plugging a cable with 2 end 3.5 mm jacks, this work. Luckily I had one, but I guess you an find one on Amazon or The Source.

    Overall a fantastic product!

I would personally say that this is an game changer when it comes to speakers. To be honest, i'm not too proud of how it plays outside, it can sound a bit poor and weak if played outside loudly. But otherwise, this is an impressive product! I would recommend buy a lot of their other impressive products as I did! Keep up the great work Beats!

    Great Speaker (no protective case)

    • Written by Mark Z

Purchased the Pill+ for my teenage daughter as a gift, high quality portable speaker with great sound and bass. We were surprised it didn’t come with a protective case (which my original Pill did) and more so that Apple/Beats doesn’t even make or offer one for sale separately. Very disappointing to need to try to find an aftermarket case...

Good, but battery life could be better

    • Written by Kate B

I absolutely love my beats pill. The sound is amazing and the bluetooth connects so easily. I also love the fact that there is the button to pause and play music. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I notice that the battery life is very short. I feel like my beats headphones which I use more often have a longer battery life than this. It seems like I'm always charging the Pill. Other than that the Pill is amazing!

This is a great speaker it plays great bass, alto, and soprano. I had just recently purchased a Bose Build speaker cube, I purchased a beats pill + because I wanted a wireless portable speaker. After I set up the Beats Pill + I realized nothing would compare to the quality of Bose. But over all this speaker is small, portable,and.....LOUD. If you are someone who perfers qualiity over sound over loudness I would get a soundlink mini ll. That is why I may be returning this one.

    Great portable speaker

    • Written by Jose F from North Miami Beach

I recently purchase this speaker, I am not an audiophile, rather someone who enjoys listening to Pop music, podcasts and watch YouTube videos on all my iDevices, this is perfect for my needs, the sounds is clean and balanced.

The device is not too heavy, it can be moved around with ease.

I would give it five stars if the price was more affordable, but like with all Apple items you pay an extra tax.

    Great speaker!

    • Written by Vincent M from Martinsburg

I have had 2 other bluetooth speakers. A JBL Flip, and a Bose Soundlink Mini 1. Both were good speakers, (JBL was decent but not rich enough sound. Bose was a little to much bass) but this Beats Pill + is the best I've had so far.

Before you do anything go to your music setting on your device and play around with the equalizer settings. For me using the "Loudness" setting on my iPhone produced the best sound.

Keep in mind that no matter what speaker you get, not all songs are going to sound great. You may be playing 1 song that sounds rich and clear, then the next will not. It's not the speaker, it's just how the song was mixed.

My only nit pick is that the sleeve that comes with the speaker is basically worthless. It would've been nice to have some type of padded case come with it.

    Crisp, clean and loud

    • Written by Koebe N from Chicago

I've been using the Bose Sounlink Mini II for a few months now with no complaints but I wanted something with a little more bass for the size. Once I found the Beats Pill+ was available with a 2-way crossover and larger size, I couldn't wait to try it out. It's just slightly larger than the Bose, looks better, offers better battery life and the ability to charge your phone. I primarily use my speaker in a medium sized room at low to moderate volume. The Pill+ offers outstanding clarity due to the separate drivers and crossover and it stays clear even at louder volumes. The Bose is clear but as the volume increases, the Pill+ keeps things sharper. The downside is that it does not offer the smooth and natural sounding bass of the Bose especially at lower volumes so it still sounds like a small speaker although it is very crisp and clear. The Pill+ does its job best at moderate to loud volume and this thing can get loud. Unfortunately, it isn't the best speaker for my listening preference so it will be returned but that doesn't mean it isn't good.
