Great for the phone, horrible for the computer

Had these for 1 week and enjoyed them on the phone. Crisp sound, great bass but then I switched it over to the computer. The Powerbeats3 earbuds have a problem when connected to a pc they will switch to handsfree and not switch back to stereo mode. To correct this, I've powered them off and back on again but as soon as my voip phone rings, I'm back to square one. I've updated the firmware on the earbuds and have tried to reset them and same results. I feel Apple had the right idea but this is a horrible implementation for something that should work for everything.

    Going for pair number 5

I am about to receive my fifth pair of powerLESSbeats 3. I got my first set last Christmas and since, have gone through 4 pair. Apparently they can not withstand any sweat on them without having problems. Luckily for myself, I got a one year warranty so I should be covered until Christmas time but after I will be SOL. Great quality as far as listening goes, but they just aren't built to last. Do yourself a favor and get some BOSE.

    TrashBeats by Lame

Wish I could give 0 stars, broke after 3 weeks of regular use. Completely unresponsive even though they had a full battery when they stopped working. Tried charging, resetting, etc. Got my money back luckily. Disappointed in Apple and Beats to pay top dollar for a bad product.

    Volume control!!!!

Great sound but will not last long. My first one last about an year after which the volume control section was torn. My second one which I bought few weeks back volume control is a disaster. It goes up and down automatically. Sometimes skips songs as well. Apple please fix this!

    Bad-Could've been great.

Purchased my Powerbeats3 in late May 2017. I should have listened to the numerous negative reviews. The GOOD - these look and sound great (to me); external fit and ear hook is excellent for distance running (my main use for them) - they stay in place. Battery life (when working) is excellent. At first I thought everyone else was whiners... then it started....(about 3 months later)... first a random shut-off at about 2 miles into a run, but then I would be able to turn them back on again a few minutes later; and then, shut-offs became more frequent and then they wouldn't turn back-on again any more - unless fully charged again (despite having been fully charged before use). Now, they're useless (for running). Another issue that developed (specific to me and my sweaty head/ears) once I lost my seal/sweat got in - they'd keep popping-out - making them sound horrible (very challenging to dry and reseal when trying to keep a desired running pace). Just wearing around the house, they work and sound fine... but I wanted them for running... Found Plantronics Backbeat Fit and have been very happy (for me) ever since.

    Sorry for wasting my money

these eabuds CAN'T handle sweat. They constantly shut down or take liberty to control volume, switch songs, etc'. The Volume control stopped working and the microphone is impossible to talk through.
I am sorry for spending almost $200 on these.

I WILL NEVER BUY THIS AGAIN

Product says this is sweat proof, but is not.. After a month of normal use (jogging) the volume is malfunctioning, the volume constantly lowering down, rendering it useless. I guess the volume button is filled with sweat.

    Bricked in five months.

My pair of Powerbeats 3 worked well for the first month, but shortly after the quality of the product started to degrade.
For one this pair started to skip pieces of songs or entire songs all on it's own. After some more time, like the third month, this set started to impair or shut off on it's own. Around the forth month the Powerbeats 3 would not charge fully. On the fifth month they no longer would turn on and that's when the final nail was hammered on the casket.

    Not worth one star

The beats 3 are terrible I had a pair for 2 months and now stopped working, these are meant to be used with a workout and a little sweat and the headphone just stop working. They are as much use as a chocolate teapot, you can look at them and as soon as you use it for what they are suppose too they fail. Don’t waste your money they are just robbing you of hundreds or pounds

    Good Earbuds, but bad build.

I loved these earbuds, and I had them for about 5 months now. They have very good quality sound, but they are very easy to break. Just recently, the part that loops around my ear has snapped off, and I do not know how to reattach it. Don´t buy these if you don´t want to buy a second pair.

    Don't waste your money

For the amount of money they ask, you would expect to receive a premium product. The truth is in fact the opposite. It starts with getting the device to properly pair with your phone, if there are multiple people use the headset (which works fine with all other Bluetooth devices), it becomes a true nightmare to get them to work. When they do however work on my Iphone, the music quality is below par. Better to just get a pair of Senheisers for a third of the price!

    Junk

I’ve been through 8 sets in the past year. I’ve never had a set last more than 60 days. Typically they die within a month. I use them daily to work out and it’s always the battery wont charge/they won’t turn on. Obviously something is shorting out from sweat. They are not at all sweatproof. The reviews are real, these are horrible. Don’t waste your money.

    Not syncing with Youtube

The audio and video does not sync while listening to music or watching a video in Youtube. I am a heavy youtube user and it is annoying to watch videos using this Powerbeats bluetooth earphones. My free Samsung wired earphones does the job effectively and I have paid $199 for this useless product.

    Couldn't ask for more

I don't understand the widespread hatred toward this earphones. I've been using them for half a year and it's safe to say minus the minimal problem with the hook it is an amazing product.
    1. Sound quality is guaranteed. It delivers clear, crisp and bass intensified tunes. I completely zone out when I go out in the public with Beats. No noise distraction anymore.
    2. Quick charge of 5minutes equals over an hour of workout. The last time I left it charged overnight it lasted crazily forever
    3. The concern about water proof ability shouldn't be underlooked. It survived through the rains and buckets sweat during cardio session
    4. The gripping of the hook as I mention isn't firm enough to stay in place. Your expected to make small adjustments every now and then so it would better fit your ears when you run or jump over a period of time.
Bottom line it's a great investment and I wouldn't trade Beats3 for anything else

    Don't waste your time..

Major problems with these headphones. Had them replaced at Apple 3 times, not one lasted longer then a month. Apple was good about it everytime replacing and eventually refunding my money (they are probably aware of the problem with them). I finally gave up on them and just bought the Bose SoundSport wireless. I would highly recommend these over the Beats, they are more comfortable and sound just as good if not better.

    AWFUL

These things turn off the minute I even think about cardio. I have several pairs before but what for whatever reason the Powerbeats 3 turn off at any sign of sweat. Don’t waste your money (or time when you inevitably have to take them back within a week of purchase). See ya later Dre Beats.

    Apple do something about these

Headphones only good for 6 months and then shut down. Apple will replace but what happens after a year? I would buy something else if I did it over. I would exchange for the Apple EarPods if they would let me.

Broke within 1st month, after warranty repair it broke again 4 days later

I use these headphones for light 30 min run every morning. 3 weeks into owning them they would not connect to any device. They were replaced under warranty by Apple, the warranty headphones then proceeded to completely not turn on or charge that same week. I wonder if they will replace it a second time, and a 3rd, and a 4th, and so on until my year warranty is over

    They're not so bad.

I once found my beats floating in water. They had been in my car when a cup broke in the adjacent cup holder overnight they were flooded. Sat there all night. I dried them with rice. They still work. ++++++ even if they didn't apple care is amazing. You guys are just snobs because it's 'not a real apple product'.
