    TERRIBLE QUALITY

    • Written by Yvonne H

My son used these 4 times. I, being an adult, went to take them out of his phone and the jack came off in his phone. This is the first pair of Beats covered solely by Apple. Sent the Beats back and was told I would have to pay to have them fixed. How is this my fault that the jack came off in my phone? I had to pay to get the phone fixed and would have to pay to have their faulty equipment fixed. In other words their really is no guarantee from Apple on this product. The price on the product does not match the quality on their product. I guess you could say they charge you over $25 dollars a day to use their product since he only used them 4 times.

My daughter got a pair of beats for Xmas less than a month later the adapter cracked when removing it from the phone. You can not replace the cord since it is attached to the headphones. Went to the Apple Store An this piece is not covered by warranty. For $69 they would fix a $99 headphone. Very disappointed in Apple An this product will never recommend.

    Waste Of money

    • Written by NEL P from New brunswick

Honestly I love apple (I have a Mac, IPhone, Apple watch, apple Mouse and keyboard and some more products) so i thought this would be a good investment. I got them and they didn't last 3 months before they started having issues so I wanted to repair it. All in all I found that the wire is fragile and prone to breaking. Theres no way to replace the aux cable at home. In my experience it was a bad investment. If I want a durable product I now know this is not an option. This were my first beats I was supposed to upgrade for my birthday but Im reluctant to purchase the other Beats products now. I would give it 0 stars but it's impossible.

    Very Disappointed

Beats EP plug broke off inside my ipad. Just started to pull them out & tip snapped clean into leaving the plug inside the port! Now I have to get plug removed, tried pulling out with tweezers but it's stuck! Apple says it'll repair Beats for $59 plus shipping, but they cost $99 new! They are only 4 months old & only used half dozen times, but repair is not eligible under 1 yr warranty?! Total rip off! I've used other cheap headphones for years and the plug still works fine, Beats are all hoopla - don't waste your money!

    Beats EP

    • Written by Bridget S

Terrible quality. My ten year old twins got these for Christmas and they lasted only a month and then the part that plugs into their iPads broke. One of them broke off into the iPad and we cannot get it out. After that happened we looked at the other child's plug and it was close to breaking also so we took it away. The $20 headphones they had before never broke at the plug!!! Total junk and I just blew $200. I am not happy and now I guess that I have to take an iPad in to get the broken plug removed.

    Faulty Connector

    • Written by Jeff P from Cincinnati

My son received a pair of these a few weeks ago as a gift, and we had been very happy with them, until last night, when the connector broke off in his iPad. The tip of the connector broke off at the plastic that separates it from the rings. It didn't break at the base.

    Beats EP --BLUE

    • Written by Christy W from Readyville

BEATS==That one word should mean quality.

    Thats not what I got.

1st 10 minutes of unwrapping the BEATS EP headphones and 1st time unplugging it from an ipad.... IT BROKE!

    WHAT!

These are beats, they shouldn't have broke... let alone broke off in my ipad.... luckily I had tweezers and was able to pull the broken part out in 4 pieces...

Good thing they at least come with a warranty...but still a pain to wait for the box to arrive, then ship them then wait for apple to fix and ship back..

Also...what the heck on the jack not being able to be replaced except by apple.... BAD DESIGN FLAW..... or if apple is just looking at the money, great design as people will want to pay to have them fixed instead of throwing away 100.00

I have had 2 other sets of beats (still have them) , one requires batteries and one requires charging, just wanted a pair that I could grab and use without worrying if it was charged or had batteries.

Feel upset on the quality of these headphones...

maybe , just maybe, mine had a defect and once replaced will be ok, I will update in a few months if it is ok or not.

Very cheaply made DO NOT BUY

    • Written by Jason O from Fitchburg

Well I just got back from the genious bar and they were nice but my Beats EP are one month out of warranty and they want $79 to fix which is too expensive considering the original cost. If these were originally $30-40 I would have just thrown them in the garbage. The problem I have (and a lot of people after googling) is the wire became detached inside the cable. So, if I wiggle the connector and hold it just right, the headphones work. These headphones have a fixed cable unlike other Beats that have a replaceable cable. Cosmetically, the connector does not look damaged. The product is not up to Apple's high quality standards and should never have been released without a replaceable cable. They sounded good when they worked, but my strong recommendation to anyone considering this product is to look elsewhere. I regret this purchase and will only consider headphones (with wired connectors) having sturdier or replaceable cables.

    Disappointed in product quality

Purchased the Beats Ep headphones as a gift for my son. He was super excited and loved the sound quality. I was happy to have given him these headsets. Unfortunately not even 1 week after receiving them the jack clean broke off and the plug stayed in the ipad. What kind of quality is this? After reading these reviews I see that it seems frequent enough for Apple to followup on this issue. Will they???

    If only mine worked

    • Written by David B from Brisbane

Xmas present and used 5 times. The right channel stopped working. Took them back into a Genius but as I couldn't find my receipt there was nothing they would do to assist. I left the Beats on the Genius bar and walked out. As an Apple household I'm really quite disappointed. My fault, but why bother paying extra. May as well get 14 x $10 headphones from Kmart.

    Do not buy!!!!

    • Written by Amee Z from Fenton

We purchased these Beats EP for my son for Christmas. He was listening to a video on his laptop. Turned his head to say something to my husband and the headphone jack broke in half. One half is still stuck in his laptop! He used them for less than a week. Called Apple as well as went to the store and was told it would cost $80 for fix the headphones. So now the laptop is messed up and we have broken headphones. After doing research, I found out many people have had the exact same problem. Do not waste your money and risk messing up your devices.

    • Written by Tiffany C from Port Coquitlam

Beats has an issue with defective wiring (just search online how many forums there are for audio issues, especially losing sound on one side) that they will not acknowledge. For the amount of money they are charging, we were duped once - never again! Buy Bose or Sony before you buy this junk!

A total waste of money!! These were a Christmas gift for my 10 year old daughter and they lasted about 2 months if that. Sound was only coming out of one side and then the headphone jack broke in her iPad. I sent them back and Apple emailed me stating that they would repair the sound but I would have to pay for the jack. I went off!!! How do you expect her to use her headphones without the jack and I made it perfectly clear that I wasn't paying for anything. After about 2 days of arguing they agreed to cover all expenses. The headphone came back and guess what? Not even 7 days later the jack broke inside her iPad again. That day her dad went out a brought her some headphones from Five and Below and they are still working. Apple needs to read people reviews and recall this product. I'm asking them to replace the headphone with a different pair,, no response as of yet.

    Beats 2 Wireless headphones

    • Written by William J

I am very dissatisfied with the above product. I bought my 1st pair of Beats 2 wireless in January of 2016, 6-8 months later the product would not charge or turn on despite diligent handling and care of the product. I called Apple support, they took great care of me, which I was thankful for. Now, here I am another 6-8 months from the 2nd pair I received and the same malfunction has occurred. I called Apple support once again, they stated that it was now out of warranty and it would cost ~$100 to fix. I explained to them the situation and how this was the 2nd time it had occurred, how I was disappointed in the product due to the problems that had occurred and was met with the same response once again. I will not make this mistake again and purchase another Beats product. The money spent for a "Lemon" product such as this is very disturbing. I will not support a company that does not stand behind their product. Unless made right, I will not recommend Beats products to family, friends, co-workers, hospital staff, or physicians. Thank you for your time. William J.

    • Written by Desmond B

I love bass and beats are known to have them so I bought these and I have got to say they suck. The build quality is fantastic but the sound is bad. I love hip hop and rap and the bass in these lack, alot. Plus, my cable broke it ripped out and now the microphone and controls don't work. I really want my $130 back to get something else.

Extremely uncomfortable = Extremely useless for me

    • Written by Dylan R

This is a honest review from a disappointed customer. These headphones are a pain to wear for me, and the longer you wear them, the more painful they become! Probably the most painful headphones I have ever bought. The sound is below average, for some songs, it sounds like you're listening to music under water while sitting inside an airplane. That's the best way I can describe the sound experience with these headphones. When wearing them, they press incredibly hard against your ears and head, and it feels like they keep "biting" harder for every minute, giving me headache after several hours of use. Looking at the design, this is not surprising, they don't adjust to your ears or head at all, they don't fold or bend much at all. I tried to bend both the steel frame and the hoop, this lessens the biting pressure for some few minutes, but then the painful bite/pressing comes back. The "cushion" cups are not soft at all, and are way too thin, or at least the material they used is too hard. In your hand, they feel like medium to hard rubber. On your ears, they feel like rocks pressing harder and harder. In my view, these headphones doesn't represent the Beats brand in a good way. For the over $100 I paid, they lack comfort, overall quality and sound quality. There are plenty of better alternatives for way lower prices. Also, they are marketed for being lightweight. They weigh about 200 grams (0,2 kg), which is quite heavy compared to similar headphones of this size, they would be lightweight if the weight was 100 grams (0,1 kg) or less. Therefore, I cannot give these headphones more than 1 star. Even if you want headache, I do not recommend these headphones, and I hope that Apple/Beats staff will listen to my review before they make their next model of headphones.

    Worst quality Beats EVER

    • Written by Tracy H from McEwen

I desperately wish I had read these reviews before I bought the Beats EP. Paid $130 for them at Best Buy for a birthday present for my niece and they didn't last 3 months, with probably less than average use, before the tip broke off in her new ipad Santa brought her for Christmas. We can't get the part out of the ipad, so it is basically ruined for headphones. And we can't replace the cord on the Beats b/c it's built in. Reading on here this isn't covered in the warranty ticks me off. With SO many people having this same problem, this should most definitely be covered by warranty and any beats that break like this should be replaced. I would expect this from $10 headphones, but not ones that cost $130. They should last longer than 3 months. It's ridiculous that Apple isn't doing better by their customers who spend SO much money with them.
