Best Bluetooth headphones I ever owned

These headphones are outstanding. With the same W chip used in the AirPods all problems with pairing and switching between devices disappear. This is how Bluetooth should have been but never was. The sound is great, passive sound isolation is excellent, remote controls always work, battery life is very good and they're comfortable. I got them because I didn't want to wait for the AirPods but now I'm pretty sure I prefer them, because of the remote controls, sound isolation and round the neck design that means I won't lose them while cycling.

    Seamless Perfection

Purchased these in March 2017. Have used for about 10 hours a day since - they are simply amazing. Switching between iphone and mac is so smooth its unbelievable. Would think again about buying if I was an android/pc user but for the self-confessed Apple lover these JUST WORK. Full charge takes minutes and lasts hours/days. Absolutely love them!

Fantastic w/ iPhone, not so much w/ MBP

I bought a pair of BeatsX to solve a problem: Not being able to lean back in an office chair when a wired pair of headphones are connected (not possible when MBP is on a stand hooked up to a monitor). To be completely fair, BeatsX works fantastic when using with my iPhone 7, e.g., battery life is great, noise canceling, definitely a step up in sound quality from the stock earbuds, but those weren't the goals with this purchase. Improving my office experience was. When connected to a 2015 MBP retina, there's a very noticeable failure in sound every other second. The best way I can relate this experience is by comparing it to listening to a heavily scratched DVD. If you're buying to use this product with an iPhone, I totally recommend, but if you're buying for office use with a Macbook Pro, I recommend looking at other Apple (because of W1 chip) products.

    Somewhat Disappointed

The earbuds look great very minimal & sleek. They fit in my ears very well too. My only issue is the sound quality. I expected it to be louder & have more bass boost especially for a new product

    Great pair of wireless earphones

Good battery life, good sound quality, comfortable to wear. Only thing I wish they had is automatic pause/play, like the AirPods

    Good comfortable headphones, great range

For those saying these don't sound - that's because you're not wearing them right - if you wear them correctly, they sound good, not the best I've ever heard but in no way bad, on par with Jaybird X3's, but without the EQ app unfortunately. As for these they have fantastic range, much better than standard bluetooth headphones. I do recommend replacing the plastic 'tips' on the earbuds with some foam ones from Comply, they make them not only sound better but much more comfortable for long (many many hours) use. The downside is the battery. I've tried two headsets and now and the battery drain is a problem - not when you're using the device but the fact the headphones never go into a sleep mode and just stay active - it means that sure, you might get 6-8 hours of actual use time, but they seem to drain just as quickly when not being used. Not sure why this is happening but hoping there is a software fix coming. Overall I really like these headphones and will love them once they start going to sleep and don't stay on and my standby battery life is what you'd expect.

    Awful

This may not be a problem for others, but I could not get the earbuds to fit. Tried all three sizes and none of them worked. As a result, they are uncomfortable and the sound quality is terrible.

    Beats Beats the Beat

These are great headphones, I cannot praise them more highly!! Go out and do yourself a favour and buy a pair!! I have been a loyal fan of Beats even before they were purchased by Apple. I have had all the Beats Solo's, I have 2 Beats Studio Wireless 2's (Gold & White), the original Beats Pill and now 2 of the new Beats Pills (White & Red) and Powerbeats 2 & 3. I love it now that Apple own Beats as I am a true Apple Fan!! You just can't beat Beat's!!

Earphones Cause Pain - Smallest Tips Too Big

I wanted to love these. The build quality is great, and I am impressed with the size of the earphones, and their battery power, however I am not impressed with the rubber ear tip sizes provided with the product. Other earphone brands - such as JAYS, for instance, provide more sizes to customers. The smallest size ear tips are still too big for me. After 10-15 mins I started to feel pain in my ear canal, and after 40 mins I had to take them out because the pain was just too much. The pain in my ears continued for a further hour after I had taken the earphones out. SO disappointed! I will have to return these earphones. I spoke to Apple Support, and I was told that I may have to purchase 3rd party tips from Amazon. These earphones cost AUD$199 - which is pretty expensive - why should I have to pay a lot extra (it ends up costing AUD$30++ after currency conversions, tax, and shipping to AUS) for 3rd party wing tips that may not even fit the earphones or my ears properly.

I have looked everywhere to find out where I could leave product feedback for the Beats X, however am unable to find it. I was directed to the Apple website to leave feedback, however there isn't a section for leaving feedback for Beats products. I just wish they offered more sizes with the earphones - particularly for people with smaller ears!

    Better than expected

At first, I had problem with the proper fit then I put on the wingtips and it haven't got out from my ears since that time. I've tried to run twice, the long wire was a bit disturbing, but that's not an issue in everyday usage. The sound quality is quite great, in comparison with the Airpods, the BeatsX is much better. All in all, it's worth its price.

    sound quality isn't good

I just the beats x and to be honest I thought the sound quality was bad, and the bass was even worse. In order to actually get a sound out of it you have to shove them deep in your ear and it gets uncomfortable. I tried all the sizes and they still were bad. Better off buying a $30 wireless headphone.

    They're not well made

I've only had these for a month and they're already not turning on, and they also can't be reset. They constantly show red when charging but they don't turn on even after being charged for hours. I didn't expect this product to be perfect but it doesn't work at all.

    Not Sweatproof

I have Powerbeats2, I got these because I'm a geek who likes new gadgets. Look at the control module on the PB2's, it is a rubberized contained unit that can handle sweat. Now look at the PowerbeatsX. You see the design flaw? It's 2 pieces put together, water can get in there. If you are wearing them they are elevated enough to not get too sweaty. But if you put them around your neck while working out, in a class or just want to talk to someone, sweat will get in there an ruin them. Apple replaced them for me. Now these are for walking around and my PB2s are for working out.

    BROKE AFTER A MONTH

These would have been really great headphones with great sound quality and design. However, after about a month, the right ear stopped working. I paid £130 for a product that only has a lifetime of a month. Pathetic! Of course I took care of them (given the price) and stored them in the case provided but they aren't durable enough to survive that! Great shame as they are very good otherwise. I would only recommend these if you rarely use them. Maybe they can survive that. After both of my Beats products breaking (Solo2 Wireless did too), I think I may have to switch to a brand that can cope with usual day-to-day use.

    Good Value

I like the fact these are wireless and are aways ready hanging around my neck when not needed. I have issues taking phone calls with this type of ear bud but simply popping one bud out so I can hear myself makes it more bearable. I do get the extra sound transferred through the wires rubbing but it's not a big issue for me.

I was sceptical about the sound quality since they have the Beats name and didn't want the over accentuated bass Beats are known for. I decided to give them a try after the reviews started to come out from regular Beats users with reports of a lack of bass. I welcomed the more neutral sound, the mids are a bit recessed but overall they have a decent mix of highs, mids and lows. I rarely find it necessary to turn the volume up over 50-60%, even in noisier environments.

I will agree with others here on the negatives. The case is useless, I have re-purposed another small gadget bag to use. The power button is small which I can accept however it needs tactile feedback. The LED should be moved off the button so you can see it. I found myself putting it into pairing mode quite often when powering it up till I got used to how it worked. Even the power up tone heard in the ear buds lags behind the actual press of the button. They also need to power off after a certain period of time of in-activity like many other powered headphones presently do. All in all with these downfalls they are worth the price.

    Bad for phone calls

This headphone works fine for wireless listening. However, when I try to use it for phone calls, I can't hear my own voice. The sound isolation works too well and all I hear is muffled speech. There is something other companies use called sidetone, but this headphone seems to lack that capability.
