I have gotten these pair of headphones for a month and a half and I can admit that they sound phenomenal.

I wanted to buy them because i was bored of the quality of the typical EarPods that came with the iPhones and I hated the wires that dangled around any wired headphones. so I gave it a shot in the dark despite how a group of people do not appreciate Beats for its over-emphasized bass. I was so excited when I got them, as it didn't take long of a purchase until I got the Black edition in my hands.

At first glance unboxing it, it looks legit cool and subtle in its design, yet really beautiful. Then from all the hype that surrounded it since the iPhone 7 launch about the ease of connecting it with Apple's W1 chip, the ads weren't lying, it was so simple to just connect it with my iPhone and MacBook. But as simple as the connecting process was, when I used it for the first few days, my ears hurt, probably because it was not used to these types of earphones as I have never liked the idea of it in my ear. BUT the sound that came out was AMAZING, I am not an audiophile however; because one person's ability to listen to things can vary from another and these were uncompromising with its sound. After a few days, my ears got use to it eventually, and it didn't hurt since. I really liked it for the ease of connection via the W1 chip, the coming through of a promise of an advertised 8-hour battery life, simple controls that was not complicated and how it just looked really gorgeous.

If I had a gripe about something other than my ears having to adapt to earphones, it's that the wires from the flex form cable were a little long?

Other than that, THESE are a perfect set of earphones that I feel everyone should get it; sure the branding makes it cool, but moreover, the sound quality is just lit.

Good quality and easy pairing. Some drawbacks

As expected the material and quality of the headphones are high. The easy pairing with iPhone and my MacBook Pro a dream as well. Two draw backs however give them a rating of 3 stars from me. Microphone is very wind sensitive, almost annoying and considering giving them back. Although not targeted for runners I gave them a try and the design with the neckband doesn't always work for me. Sometimes (mostly in head wind) the neck band falls out of place.

This be a DO NOT BUY

I loved my BeatsX for the first two weeks - then today I only get three short white blinks when trying to start them. Attempted to reset them per Beat's website, to no avail. Get five long red flashes, then back to three short white flashes and nothing. Searching the forums, turns out tons of other people are having the same issue - from $150 headphones. I have had mine about two weeks and had just tossed out the box yesterday. Now the fun games of having Apple Support be snobbish and tell me I'm "stupid" of course the headset has to be working. -- I like the Mac, the iPhone, and the iPad, but I'm stopping buying anything else Apple. They used to make top of the line products, now they only have top of the line prices.

Great sound quality but poor battery life

One of the best BT earphones with heavy bass, unfortunately, the battery doesn't last as per advertised. I have been using the earphone over the pass week and based on my observation, it never last more than 5.5 hours for continuously usage on music and some calls (lesser than 30 minutes).. Not sure if i got a defected product or what.

Great sound, Easy connection, Durable hardware

I purchased the BeatsX two months ago and it has surpassed all expectations. The sound is clear and the connection to my devices (mac and windows) has been straight forward. Whether working in the backyard, working out at home, on the road for a run, or at work - it has become a key tool in my daily activities. What has inspired me to finally write a review was when I “lost” my beats for a week. I looked everywhere and finally when I was removing clothes from the dryer - there they were - toasty warm. I apprehensively placed them in my ears and it worked like they were pulled fresh from their box the day I got them. So, Great sound, Easy connection, and Durable hardware. Easiest 5-star I have written to date.

    Beatsx the worst

Have had the Beats x for better part of 6 months and they are the worst. They wont hold a charge and fail to connect to my iphone 7 on a regular basis. I constantly get a red error light and no amount of charging will help. Bought a $25 pair of budget on Amazon and they are flawless in connection and charging. Steer clear!

Best all round headphones I've ever owned.

I've tried so many different headphones to listen to use mainly for hands free calls but also listening to music on and these are by far the best I've had. The battery life is amazing and the 5 minute charge for 2 hours use is incredible. I even wear them round my neck all day long when I'm in the office for calls. I'd go so far as to say the best headphones I've owned for every day use and especially if you want to use them for calls on your iPhone. I also own the Beat Studio Pro's which is better for listening to music, but you can't wear those all day long like these Beats X.

Great and all that but one annoying issue!

I know there are ton of benefits and I love them but personally, one big issue.

The earphones drop an active connection when an another device turns on to which they are paired.
I don't know who is responsible here but its highly annoying when I'm on a call and I turn on my laptop and my call goes like "Hello ??? Hello ????"

that in no scenario is an easy life.

My new Beats X were great until they just stopped working!

I would like someone to contact me about my new Beats X headphones. I have owned them for 2 months and they suddenly stopped working. I am very disappointed in the quality for the amount of money I spent on these.

Summer time and the BeatsX are cooler

I bought some Beats Solo3 Wireless at Christmas, but now the summer seems to have come there too hot for daily use.
As I am happy with the combability and ease of use with my iPhone the BeatsX were my first choice for a cooler sound.
I can't honestly say either pair offer top quality sound but traveling and shopping don't provide a good listing environment and there both good for that.
A lot of reviews I've read talk about the BeatsX being too long, I have to agree that when hanging not in use they are long but in use, I'd have liked them slightly longer

    Could be better

Purchased on 5/9/2017 and today 5/25/2017 they wont turn on or charge. Ive tried to reset them and still nothing... $150 is a lot of money to waste on a product that is supposed to be a top of the line product.... now I have to be inconvenienced by sending them back to apple and wait for them to do something about it. BTW the battery life does not give 8 hours of playback I was only getting about 4 hours before they died on me.

    Great value

I purchased these headphones as an alternative to AirPods and I love them! The sound quality is amazing, no issues with calls and I like the chord between. In terms of fit, it did take me a while to find the right fit but once I tested the wing tips, I have no issues with them falling out. I believe they're great value for money.

    Don't waste your money

At first, I loved them. They connect so fast to your phone and the range is amazing. So good I would forget where my phone was because I could walk so far away from it. They stopped working one month after I had them. I've had them replaced 3 times since Feb 2017. I don't recommend them for people that train hard. They don't stay in my ear well and I'm pretty sure my sweat is why they stopped working all 3 times. My boyfriend has had his replaced 3 times since Feb 2017 as well. The battery doesn't last as long as advertised and his stopped charging completely. Don't waste your time or money on these if you train hard and plan on using them daily.

    Better than Hoped

I bought these because I just upgraded to the iPhone 7 and use my iPhone nearly all day for conference calls, meaning it needs to be charging for most of the day, so the included earbuds are useless. I also use my computer for a fair number of web-conferences on my Macbook Pro during the day, so sharing one headset with that would be convenient. I also needed reliable gym headphones. These seemed like they would fit all purposes, and they did -- better than expected.

    The Good Stuff:
*Setup is a piece of cake.
*Switching between the iPhone and the Mac is very fast and painless. Fast enough that you can do it in time to answer an inbound call.
*They are very comfortable, and once you pick the right eartips and wingtips, you can leave them in pretty much all day.
*If you want noise cancellation, these aren't that, but the tight seal of the eartips does keep most of the outside world out.
*The fast charge is nice. I've used it more than once.
    *'Hey Siri' works great.

Less Good Stuff: Note that I gave 5 stars while you read these -- they are minor
*You need to take the time to try all the different eartips. For the first 2 days I was convinced I would return these because they sounded tinny with no bass. It was simply because I didn't have a good seal because I was using the wrong tips. Once I got the right ones, these sound better than my old Bose in-ears. Spend an hour or two with each pair, and don't be shy about seating them all the way into your ears.
*They really aren't great at the gym. The weight of the collar piece is great when you are standing, running, or face-down, but if you lie on your back like you would on a bench, the weight will pull even the tightest seal out of your ears after a few reps. I also found myself worrying about the amount of sweat getting around the mic and charging port. Stick to the earbuds for the gym since you can't charge there anyway.
*For those used to the standard earbuds, it takes a few days to get used to the controls being on the left instead of the right. I don't know why they had to make these different.
*The downside of the passive noise cancellation from the eartip seal is twofold: 1) when talking, you can only hear your own voice from inside your head -- so you always sound to yourself like you have an ear infection, and it's tricky to tell if you are speaking too loudly or too softly, and 2) you cannot hear other vehicles or your environment when driving. I find myself removing the non-mic earpiece when driving for safety.
*The mic is even worse in the wind than the wired earbuds with even a mild breeze creating noise, and some reported that the noise gate was a bit pronounced, clipping the first bit of sound each time I started speaking.

So, despite all the knocks, these are a 5-star if you take the time to get the eartips right.

    Just get AirPods

The only benefit of these over the AirPods is that you look a tiny bit less dumb wearing them, and it's not even that big of a difference the way the wire on these curls around your ear. The feel of the cord on the back of my neck is pretty annoying too. I find myself taking them off before I'm done listening to stuff because they're so annoying to wear. The rubber material is a bit clingy and they're constantly in just the wrong position. The sound quality is slightly better than my previous $30 pair of Bluetooth headphones, but I wouldn't say that adds any value, since those have lasted me a few years and still show no sign of age, and these ones lasted a couple months before stopping working. When I plug them in, the light blinks red, and when I take them off, they do nothing. They were literally fine one moment, I plugged them in because I was going to bed, and in the morning they didn't work. Judging by reviews and stuff, I'd say the most you can expect to get out of these is 2-3 months if you're really lucky.

    Cool head phones

I love these. My partner does not. He thinks they sound bad. I disagree.

Battery doesn't charge anymore, just a month from I bought

Just a few weeks after bought it, I have tried to recharge it, a red LED is blinking forever. I have waited one-hour on charging, but the red LED still blinking and the battery have not charged yet. I have thought there is a problem on my BeatsX. I payed $150 in this earphones and cannot use it. Absolutely disappointed.
