    Not Recommended for Northerners

My fully charged BeatsX earphones quit working about 5 minutes into my walk this morning. It was 10 degrees F. Apparently the battery cannot take the cold. That's a bummer for those of use who live in New England, because they cannot be used during outdoor activities in the winter.

Otherwise the only real problem with them is some cable noise ("microphonics"). I guess that's one advantage of the Apple AirPods.

Overall, they deliver as promised. They don't sound as good or as accurate as my trusty Sony MDR 7506 ($90) but they are more convenient.

    I really like these!

I have tons of earbuds and headphones so I know what sounds good and what doesn't. I really like the Beats X earbuds. They are super comfortable and so light that you don't feel much if anything in your ears or on your neck. They aren't noise canceling but the earbuds cancel out a lot of noise on their own so really, NC isn't necessary with these. They sound pretty good overall but they could be a touch louder but they are loud enough for 99% of people I think. The carrying case leaves a lot to be desired. It's just a silicone sleeve with an open end. ,aybe it will work. Maybe it won't. Time will tell. I prefer a carrying case like the zip up one they send with the power beats wireless.
Charging is simple. Pairing is simple. There isn't much not to like about the Beats X. There is no resistance when turning my head like I get with some earbuds from the cords pulling on my neck. Battery life is good enough. The one thing I'm not sure about is sweat. How will they do on a really hot set of days after a bath in salty sweat? We will see..

    Great purchase

So my Apple in-ear buds were starting to be problematic (going on 5 years) and since my ears do not hold EarPods snugly, Apple's AirPods were out of the question. Thus went with the new, blue BeatsX and am real happy with them. I mostly listen to audiobooks and the sound is just as good as the wired in-ear buds. I did not have to install other-sized tips as those preinstalled fit and hold just fine. Battery life is well...darn good and the 5 min charge/2hour battery life is indeed true. Pairing is scarily easy for a bluetooth item and sure enough, my other devices paired up via iCloud.
If I had to list annoyances there are 2: 1- if the cable rubs against the collar of your shirt you hear it and 2, the carrying case could have been thought through a little better. No closure so the cable tends pop out and it's a lint magnet!
    Other than these 2 minor points, it's a home-run for Apple...again.

    Excellent product!

Before I bought these, I had the AirPods. The AirPods are great, but I needed something that was comfort in my ear due to a tragus piercing and something that was a little louder since I suffer from hearing loss. I decided to try the BeatsX out and immediately noticed the excellent noise cancellation design. When I turned some music on, it was so clear and had a great volume! On top of that, I absolutely love that it had a remote feature for Siri, volume, and playback unlike the AirPods. It is very nice having wings and other interchangeable tips. I am so happy with my purchase!

    Wow. I'm impressed

I normally dont give reviews; however, I feel it necessary to review one of the best products I've bought in a long, long time. From the box right to the first use the Beatsx are remarkable. Sound quality exceptional, look is edgy and cool, and the functionality is on par to the best out there. Well worth the dollars. Thank you beats!

    Awesome headphones!

I drive a commercial truck. My clients can hear me clearly when I use the headphones to answer my calls. The sound quality is second to none!!

THEY DONT sound good enough for $200

I bought the iphone 7plus in November 2016 and, like many others, I'm scrambling to find a quality set of Bluetooth headphones that have features for my phone. I WANTED to love these headphones. The design is slick. The fit is great. The battery life and fast charge fantastic. The lightening charger makes me even happier. BUT BUT BUT. These are headphones....they have to SOUND good. For all the apple friendly specs I just cant convince myself to keep them. The sound is sooooo sooo subpar. The bass is uneven and flat. I have a pair of $29 sony earbuds that provide better enveloping bass with crisp trebles. I tested them over and over again playing the same songs, switching between my earbuds and the beatsx, and i just cant convince my ears and my brain into keeping them anymore. For something that's 10 times the price of a regular set of earbuds the sound quality should be comparable if not better. THESE ARE NOT. The fact that they aren't sweatproof either makes me worry they will be dead within a few months of taking them to the gym.

Overall - wait for the next gen. Apple even if these were $30 more and that was all it took to make the sound actually good...DO IT. Consumers - Dont buy these unless you dont actually care what your headphones sound like (which is crazy) but honestly.

Don't buy if you live in Canada

They're good earphones. Sound is good. Fit is good. Great for indoor use around the house or at the gym. However, if you're outside for long in the Canadian winter, they will constantly disconnect from your device. In -7 weather, they start dropping after 10 minutes and then have to be resync'd again every 5 minutes or so. Very annoying.

    Beats X Need Improvement

They have great sound and are comfortable but do need improvement. I purchased these headsets but when talking through the headset the person on the other end keeps telling me they can't hear me. Can't seem to switch from my iphone to ipad to ipod. This needs to be fixed or at least tell me where I can find how to do this. The Bose wireless are great, they switch from one device to another seamlessly, can always be heard when taking a call. I love the voice that tells me what I am connected to, when to charge, etc. Apple should design a headset more like the above.

Very happy with my first pair of Beats

These are my first pair of Beats earphones/headphones and I am very happy with them. I traditionally used wired earphones – mostly Etymotic (4P/HF3) and Sure (525/535). I was skeptical about Bluetooth until owning a few full size Bluetooth headphones (currently using Sennheiser Momentum and previously Parrot Zik). I was also concerned with sound quality, comfort, style, and compactness. The Beats X have performed well against all my concerns but are not perfect.

More battery life would be nice but 8 hours is great and they charge fast. I normally get 20+ hours with my full size headphones so my comparison is with larger/bulkier headphones. I think the Beats X automatically turn off which helps save the battery. I must get used to that and be ready to turn them on for phone calls.

Turning on the Beats X takes some getting used to. The on/off button is on the edge of one of the bulges on the neck band and it feels unnatural since I want to hold the section flat. Doing this while wearing it just complicates it more. There is a nice audible chime indicating on/off but it seems delayed – the manual indicates holding the on/off for 1 sec so it’s not just a tap a go. This is great to avoid accidental on/offs but as I mentioned it’s not the flat part and not a natural feeling.

My recommendation to anyone concerned about fit and comfort is to get foam earphone replacement tips. Foam is more comfortable but less durable than the plastic flanges that come with the Beats X. Foam is also better for sound isolation. I do not yet have a good recommendation for a brand – the first set I ordered disintegrate quickly. The foam for Shure (made by Shure) are great but do fit Beats.

Also for improved comfort, I also wear the Beats X backwards. For my ears, this is much more comfortable given the short nozzles of the Beats and the somewhat bulky housing. I wish they were designed with a straight nozzle instead of angled (more like Etymotic which are the most comfortable in-ear earphones I’ve ever owned when used with foam). I prefer a deep in-ear insertion. With the current design and when used per the design, the Beats feel like they will fall out.

Emphasizing this, using good foam replacements and with a deep in ear insertion, you will have more comfort, better sound isolation and better overall sound quality.

I’d buy them again with no hesitation. But I look forward to beats X 2.0.

    Amazing! Great job Apple!

I'll be honest, I was a little skeptical when I bought these, but when I changed the eartip to my size and added the wings and tried them out for the first time, I fell in love! The bass on these are amazingly well for their size, and I love how fast they connect to my iPhone! I definitely recommend these to anyone in the market for new earphones!

    Some of the best

These bluetooth earbuds are great! They do everything nicely, there are a few things I wish they supported like being able to pair them to two devices at the same time. My old LG HBS-730 bluetooth headset did that, I found it odd that these didn't, the beatsX are really comfortable and I can wear them all day long. I also thought I liked having the battery indicator in the notification bar for the bluetooth headset like with my LG's but I see for the beats the battery life is indicated after swiping up from the bottom and then selecting your beatsX. None of those were deal breakers for me and I thoroughly enjoy this headset.

Even works with profound hearing loss

I have profound hearing loss (worse than severe) and can hear these loud and clear at 3/4 volume on an iPhone 7. I am very pleasantly surprised.

    horrible quality

i was soooooo excited to get these headphones. I noticed that no one on the commercials or advertisements have on a collared shirt or hoodie because they make so much noise. if they brush up against your shirt you hear it. People are saying that i sound muffled or far away. i'm sending these back immediately. I could've just bought some 20.00 earbuds.10 more bucks and i couldve got airpods. ridiculous.

This really should be a 4.5 rating

I couldn't rate these at a full 5 stars, only, because the call quality is a bit less than that of earpods. THE KILLER FEATURE is the bluetooth range and penetration. I lock my phone in a gym locker and keep hearing music on the other side of the gym. I'm guessing its 150+ feet away going through a walls and all the gym equipment and everyone else's cell phone and bluetooth ear phones. Sound and ease of pairing are also just as good as many already stated.

    Failed within 2 weeks

Sound quality good for Bluetooth - plenty of bass... and well balanced Mids and trebles.
Cable noise very noticeable when running. But ok when just walking around.
Unfortunately mine failed within 2 weeks.
Would not turn off initially. Then would not charge.
After reset - (guided from Apple support) - would not turn on or charge.

Flickering power light would suggest electrical fault

Very poor build quality for the very light use they had - which was around 5 hours in total. And only 1 x 45 minute indoor run.

I would expect better for £129!

Bose soundsport wireless here I come!

    Just perfect!

Ever since purchasing the iPhone 7 Plus, I have been looking for a set of bluetooth ear buds that sit comfortably in my ears and these bad boys are just perfect. They're easy to use and I love the fact they stick together when they're dangling around your neck so you can't lose them easily. The price is decent as well.

Great earbuds, solution for undersized carrying case

The good: Performance and controls exactly the same as urBeats wired earbuds in both sound quality and ambient noise levels, W1 chip provides quick and seamless Bluetooth connections as advertised.

The bad: Carrying case too small and cumbersome to use. Purchased via Amazon.com a small zippered pocket change purse, about 3"x 5", problem solved!

4.5 out of 5 stars because of carrying case

Best wireless ear phones on the market!

Pairing is the easiest of any wireless earphones out there. Apples W1 chip is the bees knees. As soon as you turn these on your phone picks it up in a few seconds. No need to even go into any settings. Sound is well balanced with good base that's not over powering.
