    not good product

the worst thing in this earphone that it doesn't answer the calls automatically when you separate the magnetic pods
more worse that even the 2 pods are attached and you start your music or even Facebook, still the sound goes to the earphones instead of the phone speaker....it's a disaster how they make such product without thinking of how people will use it
not to mention the cheap quality of the product, the plastic and the wires are so cheap and looks like a product of $20 not $150

    Expensive for the sound

Sound isn't great , not loud on max level , poor bass sound , I expected more from beats with that price.

    Wonderful when they do work

I have been a huge Beats fan for years and years, and when I first found out that these were gonna be released I saved up for almost a year to be able to buy them on the release date. This is my third Beats earphone pair now and the quality and bass is amazing, BUT.. They´re in for service for the third time now, I´m waiting on my third pair of BeatsX because the first two I got suddently stopped working.. So they´re amazing when they actually work, but a lot of technical difficulties sadly..

Great Concept but Terrible Sound Quality

So, I like Apple products and was thinking about these headphones for a while. They fit really well around the neck, the ear buds are great and in ear plastic bits keeping the earphones in. However, that’s about it if I’m honest, the sound quality is really poor and I’d recommend avoiding this product at all cost. I have Powerbeats 2, they’re amazing compared to these, these are shocking and for that price, you can get much better ones out there. Like others, these NO bass, it’s tinny, I tried to EQ in the music app and Spotify but it wasn’t helping. Nothing was wrong with the earphones, Apple looked at them and no fault found.

    Beats X is a NO!

I have been looking forward to the Beats X for a long time. I finally bought tem last Wednesday. A waste of time and money. These things will not say in my ear no matter what I do. Therefore I will return them tomorrow. I'm going to try the Air pods next. I hope that they won't fail me.

Nice fit but controls are a little off

Fit well and great for mountain bike. I also use these for call, too. First pair quit working after a few months. I little difficulty getting them replace but a cooperative staff at the Apple store and a couple of weeks and I have a replacement. Controls work better, too.

Apple support is pretty good. I have numerous Apple products and never had an issue, just with Beats X but they took care of me.

    They STINK!

This headphones are way too expensive for the poor quality of sound, I'm so disappointed on them I gave them up and went back to the regular apple headphones, my advice: Don't waste your money on this, the only good feature is that they are wireless, that's it.

    Great features, but mediocre sound

Had I paid for these, I'd return them. For $150, I would expect and demand good, clear, crisp sound, but these are just another well-conceived but poorly executed product from Beats. Nothing I've found so far has measured up to my ancient Etymotics buds, but the cords are literally falling apart on them. The Beats are mostly going to be useful to me for plane rides, as the isolation is very good, making them impractical (and illegal) for driving - I'll use my Apple buds for that, as I can get good sound and still hear what's going on around me to some extent. If Apple really wants to impress me, pull Beats's reputation for mediocre products out of the gutter, and include some extra ear tips that don't completely block out all ambient sound.

    Dosn't connect

I have a pair of power beats 3 and they were great, the only reason I don't use them because the hooks irritate my ears. The beats X were great in the first few days, comfortable, sleek, great sound. Then the blue tooth does not work. It does not connect with my phone and laptop and when it does the sound cuts out every 4 seconds or so. Maybe it's just my laptop (2013 mac book pro) but this is my SECOND pair. Maybe just go with some wired beats or just stick with the apple earphones.

Love them, except for a few things

I was very hesitant to buy these since I was never a Beats fan, but the world of bluetooth headphones is somehow extremely limited. The selling point of these were W9 chip for pairing with my iPhone seamlessly, which it does, and advertised 8h battery. Now I can't say exactly that it goes up to that point, the huge downside of them is that once you switch to do something else and pause your music, they still continue to work and consume battery. So more often than not I find myself listening to them on the way somewhere and forget to turn them off, resulting in a dead battery otw back. If only they could automatically shut down, that would be amazing. Other than that I find the sound pretty good, and being the bass-head that I am I was initially slightly disappointed that they aren't actually bass-heavy, but I git used to that and appreciate the sound they produce.

Worst product so far, from Apple

I bought Beats X as soon as it came out for three reasons. 1. I had used Beats before and had decent experience. 2. I liked the minimalist design and the fact that it uses lightning connector. 3. It was coming from Apple so I was confident it will be a quality product with very good support. Turns out I bought the first POS product from Apple. So far got two replacements. Sending back 3rd for replacement.
I am using Beats X with iPhone 6 (AT&T) and MacBook Pro 2016. Now list of problems
    1. Patchy call quality after 1 minute or so in the call. AT&T network is not play as I found call quality turned just fine as soon as I switched to phone ear piece or speaker phone.
    2. While listening music for running , very patchy sound quality in case phone is more than 12" away from the Beats X.
    3. The one I am sending back now, microphone stopped working during a call. Restart/ reset did not help.
So far support was not helpful at all , they will kill my 15 -30 minutes every time and finally ask me to send it back for replacement. So far this product from Apple / Beats has only brought pain. My first bad experience with Apple branded product.

    How to use it

Best wireless earphones I ever had. I checked Beats website to find the functions and how to use it, it's awesome, just a few days of using and it's easy to drive on.

    Truly amazing!

I have had my Beatsx for about 2 weeks now and couldn't be happier. They pair flawlessly every time and the sound is truly amazing. When I read other reviewers complaining about "tinny sound" or no bass I have to wonder if they got the same product I did. The bass is solid and there is nothing "tinny" about the sound. All the different pieces that came with the Beatsx allowed me to personalize them for a perfect fit. I haven't tried the wings yet but may give them a try. I use them daily and just love them. For the reviewer who complained about the Beatsx not being suitable for a workout...Beats has a products specifically designed for people who want to wear them during a workout, perhaps he or she should have looked at the product line a little closer. And for the reviewer who complained about hearing his voice when he/she hummed...DUH? That will happen with any in ear device. This is a great product from a great company!

Sound is great - on/off functionality annoyingly bad

Great sound and basic design but horrible implementation of the on/off functionality (makes you wonder if they have done any usability testing).

    Pros:
    - Great sound
    - Design is minimalist but good (earphones clasp together through magnets)
    - Nice range of colors
    - Battery quick charge is fantastic (charges to 2 hours in 5 minutes)
    - Uses lightening cable to charge (great if you have an iPhone)

Con: Everything about the on/off functionality
    - There is no auto off feature! You stop listening but forget to turn off your headset and the battery drains because this thing stays on. Auto-off is not rocket science and implemented in many other, cheaper Bluetooth headsets.
    - The on/off button is flimsy (it's a very small push button that sits flush on one of the battery enclosures. This makes the button hard to find and press when you wear the headset.
    - There is a pairing delay of several seconds. Compared with the flush push on/off button I am never quite sure - did I switch it on? Let's press it again. Oh no I turned it off.
    - The on/off notification is a beep!?!?!? Come on Apple! I had a cheap $20 Bluetooth headset that was able to tell me "your headset is connected to your iPhone"

Seriously; I find the on/off flaws so annoying that it spoils the whole product.
A typical experience I am going through at least once a week goes like this: I put the ear pieces in, search for the on-off switch with my right hand. Try using my finger nail to make sure I really pressed it. Wait a few seconds. Nothing happens. I press it again. Nothing. Frustrated I take them off to see what I am doing just to realize that the battery is drained because I forgot to turn them off when I stopped listening a few hours ago.

The on/off switch i could get used to. Not having an auto-off feature is simply unforgivable. I would not buy them again.

    Best Pair

I’ve had many beats in my life. I owned some powerbeats and they broke. Right now I have the retro Studios and they work perfectly. I just bought my BeatsX almost a year ago and they are working perfectly. They are amazing and don’t have any issues. Best pair  has made, very satisfied with my purchase, the people at  told me to just take them in whenever I had a problem with them. Very nice purchase and help setting them up

spend the extra $10 on air pods

I bought these and returned them in 2 days. Sound is inferior to the sound of the wired earphones that come with the iPhone. It almost sounds like you have 2 tin cans over your ears connected by string. The wire going around the back of your neck is a horrible idea if you wear collared shirts to work. Either the wires get stuck around the edges of your collars every time you turn your head and pull the phones out of your ear, or the chord connecting both phones hangs down drooping off the sides of your head like Disney's Goofy ears making you look ridiculous. I am spending the extra $10 to get Air Pods even though i may have to wait for a month for them to come in. Now i know why the BeatsX have so many in stock at the Apple Stores..........
