    Amazing, almost magic!

I love everything about them! Aside from trying to keep the case clean.

Fantastic purchase despite many negative reviews

Something I tend to do is not base my decisions off reading reviews.
I always use them as a general guide, keeping in mind that they are basically an opinion.

I will gladly say that purchasing the AirPods has been the best choice for me.
They're fantastic in every way, from their ease of use to their outstanding first time setup.

My personal recommendation to anyone thinking about buying these would be, if you think you want them then buy them. Don't let any of these negative reviews turn you down, because the only review that counts most is your review.

    Overall they're fantastic! Thanks Apple!

    Well done.

Make fun of the way they look, but this is the best pair of earphones I've ever had. They link up with any of your Apple products with ease. Well done Apple, well done indeed. They only thing needed now is a way to change tracks/+- the sound volume without having to use Siri; I like using Siri but there should be an alternate way.

AirPods - Definition of throwing money away.

Normally I wait until a product has survived a few generations before purchasing. However, I had just purchased Apple Watch 2 + Nike to begin serious training for long distance running. I felt like I needed a great pair of wireless Bluetooth headphones to go with the watch and my iPhone 7. I used the AirPods for about 3 days before I resold them on eBay. They would constantly drop out (lose connection) while listening to music. Sometimes while sitting at my desk working on a project only the left side would work and the right side would periodically drop in and out. There’s no way that if Steve jobs were still around the AirPods would exist in their current form. This has defiantly given me reason to pause when purchasing any new Apple products.

    Absolute garbage

I've had mine for 6 weeks. The left pod rarely pairs with my phone the first time out of the case. I forever have to forget and repair the device. If it does pair it will drop in the middle of a work out. I would have given these zero stars, but I can't. I expect more from Apple. My wife's $35 pair of wireless head phones work way better. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DONT BUY THESE!!!!!

Very poor connection - on 2 different sets

Had my first pair arrive as a gift with the intention of using them for the gym. Great when unboxing and so simple to use I was very impressed, the moment I put my iPhone 6 in my pocket however the signal is absolutely awful to the point the music will pause for 2-3 seconds, play for 1 second, then pause for 2 seconds again.

I took the first pair back to the Apple store, ordered a second pair waiting another 4-5 weeks or so, only for the second pair to be exactly the same.

I can't for one moment see how they are usable with your phone in your pocket, surely everyone isn't walking around with their phone in their hand whilst in the gym / commuting?

Meh. I wanted to love them

I just got my airpods after waiting 6 weeks for delivery. I'm less than impressed. The volume isn't as loud as I would like. The double tap feature for siri only works some times, and then it says i need to unlock my phone to complete the task, making it useless as a feature. They don't seem to work all of the time; my guess is that the sensor that "knows when its in your ear" isn't working for me. I do have to say that the design is sleek and that no wires = no hassle detangling. For the price, there are far too many nuances and compromises.

    Another Experience

This is difficult for me because I love Apple products and have always felt the performance was exceptional on any purchase. I was looking forward to using them in two specific ways--in a coffee shop, and while running. Here is my experience with the AirPods:
They have to be paired each and every time you use them with every device.
They cease to function if in your jean's back pocket, a backpack, a running belt, or anywhere other than in front of you. They cease to function if you move out of sight line. Once they have been disconnected you must re-connect be repairing.
If you are in a noisy place, like a coffee shop, your phone partner has difficulty hearing you.
While running, they repeatedly fall out and disconnect.
Other than the issues above they are great for sitting at home using with the computer, iPhone, or iPad--as long as you don't mind dropping calls, because you have it paired with the computer and not the phone and it doesn't transfer, or you have to go to the toilet, because they won't stay connected once you walk out of the room.

The super reviews created my interest. Time for my review.

Yes, I had struggled to have Bluetooth headsets charged, to ever enjoy them. But this headset is a game-changer. So far I am in love. Part of it is the one ear at a time use, so I can listen to a podcast or music and hear the real world to safely drive, walk. Calls are super clear and those I call say I am super clear. Best purchase in a long time. The beauty of the case and the ability to use one headset so one can be ready without pause to answer calls, the simple pairing, all major pluses. I gave away a few failed headsets to Goodwill. This odd looking set turns out to be what I was looking for without knowing it.

    So useful

So I have a mophie case for my iPhone and it changes the the charging port to android charging port but it has a backup battery pack in case I run out of battery and it has the same protection as a otterbox and it cost 100$ so with the AirPods I can listen to music without a lightning port.

Great Idea but does not deliver

Great concept but not up to par with all the hype.
Does not stay in ear. Good for sitting on a plane, in a car or a train but forget about moving around. They will fall out of your ear canal.
The sound quality is on par with the free EarPods that you get with your phone. Not worth the price. Seems like Apple jumped the gun and released this before all the kinks got worked out. Would not recommend but would advise to wait for next generation. Sad indeed.

    Excellent Wireless Experience

I bought these primarily for taking/making calls while driving or walking, and of course for music. I am not an audiophile, but I find the sound quality to be very good considering they are in-ear headphones. I have found that a couple of people who previously complained about hearing me on my wired Ear Pods no longer have any issue hearing me with the Air Pods.

Stating the obvious, they do not make a great fashion statement. Luckily for me, I really don't care about it.

For the most part the setup and daily use of the Air Pods are as advertised. They couldn't be easier to use. My only issues are that:

    1) Battery life for the Air Pods, especially when using for calls, is not fantastic. I seriously doubt I would get 5 hours.
    2) Occasionally the bluetooth connection to my iPhone is very slow.

While the battery drains faster than I expected, they do charge up in the case very quickly. So far it seems the battery drains faster when taking and is more in line with expectations when playing music. Not sure why. In real word use, they still offer solid battery performance.

As for the bluetooth connection issue, I can't pinpoint scenarios to replicate the problem. Once in a while when I put an Air Pod in my ear, it doesn't connect or takes 20-30 seconds. Most of the time, it is instantaneous.

Overall, I am very impressed especially as a 1st generation version of a new product.

I just got my AirPods Thursday. Have been sitting with them in for the last 4 hours or so and it is great to listen to music and my ears not hurt from my head phones. The sound doesn't compare to my Sony wireless over the ear headphones, but the sound is pretty good. Linking them is so EASY!! Just open the case near your unlocked iPhone or iPad and it pops up to link. They come partially charged and ready to go. They stay in pretty well. I've been dancing around like a fool and they haven't budged. I got no strings on me should've been used for the commercials for the AirPods, cause truly there are no strings.

Great Concept But Falls Short Of Expectation

I was very excited getting my hand on one of these as they are pretty much sold out everywhere. Honestly, I do not know what the big hype is about. The AirPods are extremely uncomfortable in my ear since it's a piece of hard plastic. If you try to shove it in your ear canal to stay put, the sharp edges not only cut into your skin but it is also a very awkward sensation. Because it is such hard and high gloss material, it does not stay in your ear comfortably. They keep loosening up even if you don't move and eventually slide out of your ear completely. There is a reason why other manufacturers use soft silicone tips! You can probably get around this problem by purchasing additional after market silicone covers, but you have to keep taking those off every time you have to charge your pods. I'm just surprised that Apple did not think about this.
