Amazing product but could use some huge improvements.

I really enjoy using these headphones as my everyday headphones, but there are some problems with them. I miss having the controls to be able to play/pause change songs and adjust the volume, and nobody is going to want to talk to themselves in public to siri to do all of that stuff. Instead, those touch controls should be used like the original control touch cables that the original earpods have where the tap feature of the airpods is used to play/pause and change songs, and sliding your finger up and down can change the volume by one interval. If the airpods had these features, then they would have way more positive reviews and more purpose. Maybe the siri feature can still be there, but with a short holding motion instead. There should also be a second noise cancelling version that might cost more, but cancels out the noise you hear because when i'm on the train, I can still hear it quite loudly unlike earphones like the beats tours. Even thought the sound quality is already great, it could always use even more improvements. Battery wise, for your next generation of airpods, try aiming for 8 hours of battery life for the airpods, and at least 40 hours for the case. You were successful at it with the Beats solo wireless 3's, you can do the same for the airpods. The bluetooth and ear detection scanner should also get some improvements as the bluetooth occasionally cuts out which can be annoying, but is not friendly for old devices like the iPhone 5s, and sometimes when I remove my airpods to pause, and put it back in to play, it doesn't work, but sometimes it does. Overall, good product, but could use huge improvements.

    Skeptical at first. Great product!

Fears about AirPods. Comfort. Fit. Falling Out. Sound Quality. I am happy to say that these wireless earbuds are great! They fit comfortably and easy to adjust in your ear to where you want them (subject to change based on the person). Apple guarantees a 14 day return policy (no restock fee) if they do not fit or meet your standard. I've gone running with these and they do not fall out or move much at all. They are very comfortable for use around the house. You may even find yourself forgetting that they are there!

This product is not perfect though. Sound quality could be better (I have a pair of Bose and they are fantastic.. fit snug and offer better base and clarity). The functionality could be improved with some way to adjust volume/skip without having your phone handy or using Siri.

I definitely recommend this product. The price is a little high in my opinion but based on performance and function, you will not be disappointed.

    Worth the price!

These headphones bring an all new level of convenience, they are So easy to use & Look gorgeous too. The volume is the only area that could be slightly better, having said that though, the audio quality is still very high and on par with most other bluetooth headphones, but not quite up to The volume of some other high end wired headphones (understandably so). I would highly recommend buying these.

    1st Generation AirPods Beyond expectations

I had these AirPods for 2 months already I love them. For being the first generation AirPods I love the sound and fit in my ear as it doesn't pop out of my ears when I'm walking or running. The syncing is so quick I love it. When I'm taking a call I can hear loud and clearly and the person I'm talking to can hear just fine. The Battery is great since it would be based on the volume level your on I normally have at 50%!or 40% I get over 5 hours of what apple I have said. I'm also impressed how loud the AirPods can get and after receiving the first AirPod update recenly I notice that the sound on my AirPods sounds more louder than before and clearer. I can't wait for the Second Generation AirPods.

    Really great!

These work beautifully. I love not having wires/ cords of any kind. These stay in my ears AND then e people I have called via Bluetooth said the sound is better than when I am calling straight from my iPhone, which is neat.
I just saw that Samsung has ear pods that have built- in storage for music, so, presumably, their ear pods can be used alone for workouts, etc. I hope Apple incorporates that idea, too. It would be a nice feature, I think.
Of course, who goes anywhere without their phone, so I guess it doesn't really matter about the stand- alone, built- in music capability.
Anyway, I read lots of reviews prior to purchasing these and, like me, most people love these things.
I do not care if someone thinks they look funny. I wore these the whole time I was grocery shopping, in case someone called. These allow me to be totally hands- free and NO CORDS !
The sound is truly amazing. As soon as I got these, right out of the box they were ready to go. I watched a couple of movie trailers to test out the sound and was blown away. Then, I downloaded a playlist to my iPhone7 so I always have my kind of music available on- demand. I will get a lot of use out of these, especially out walking.
Oh yea- pairing was the EASIEST ever...get these and you will see what I mean.
    Thanks, Apple!

I didn't expect to like them.

I purchased the Airpods fully expecting to return them. The sound is great, not perfect, but will match anything in its price class. But what made me keep them is the little case. Surprise, surprise. Fits perfectly in my pants pocket. Charging time is very quick. The pods connect instantly to whatever I am using for my music source: MBP, iPhone, iPad, Mac Pro. I thought that perhaps the dangly part of the pods would be heavy batteries, but they are light and don't feel like they will fall out of my ear. Nice going Apple.

    Best gift I've ever gotten

My dad got me these as a Christmas gift. They've just arrived after a couple months of waiting and they were definitely worth the wait! I can already tell they're going to change my day to day life. I usually do housework while listening to music and now I won't have to worry about waking or disturbing anyone because I can just use my AirPods instead. I was very surprised to learn that they also work with my Apple TV! I don't know why I wasn't made aware of this prior to today but I'm very happy with that little surprise. They also stay in my ear better than I could've thought. I've done cartwheels and swung my head around to the point of seeing stars and they didn't go anywhere. Honestly, these headphones are one of the coolest things I own.

    Just SO AWESOME!

Airpods are AWESOME! I've had HEAPS of Bluetooth headphones before. But none are as good these! Quick note to anyone who has these! Do yourself a favour! Get yourself a "Plan Jane" Reading Classes Lanyard! I got a black one.so that if one of your Airpods drops out of your ear, it won't got far! And another benifit is that they also has an adjustable rubber "o" ring on them so that you can tighten them onto your Aitpods!

Also, get yourself silicon earpods covers they also help to keep them in your ears! I bought a couple of silicon earpods covers for a Samsung S7 headphones from eBay because they also direct the sound into your ear! AWESOME!! Thanks for reading my review, Please like!

    A Fantastic Product

I was very critical towards it. But my point of view was completely changed after I received AirPods. The sound is surprisingly crispy and clean, the bass is decent for its size. The battery life of the charging case is impressive and it has brought great convinence to my life. However, I do not like the fact that I have to change songs or volumes by using Siri, but other than that the product is flawless.

The best Bluetooth earphones for runners

These are really well engineered earphones, and such slick packaging and connectivity with Apple products (iPhone, Watch). The logic is very smart - take out, put in - they know what their job is. They're excellent for conversations, and because they don’t block out the ambient noise, much more realistic than over-ear or in-ear gear which relies on foam connection, i.e. you don't hear your own voice muffled. More importantly (for me being a distance runner) they perform very well for running and exercise. Again, because they don’t rely on a air-tight connection in the ears (not like the foam seal of the other units), they deliver consistently good audio and don’t dislodge at all. I have bought so many BlueTooth earphones, and their foam connection makes it a real problem for runners - it changes the sound when you're straining and you can't hear the ambient sounds which makes them dangerous. The AirPods deliver really good sound all the time, and you can hear that car coming top behind you too. Compared to the other BlueTooth earphones I've bought recently, e.g. JayBirds, Bose, etc. (yes, I have a drawer-full!), the AirPod audio is better, and AirPods don't have that connector cord with the power pack attached. So no transmitted noise from a rustling cable, and no irritating dangly thing tugging on one side / back of the neck. Worth every cent!

You Won't Want Wires Ever Again

After waiting exactly 6 weeks - to the day, I finally received my Airpods shipment today. I ordered them Dec 30 and got them Feb 10. Setup is quick and painless. They even updated to the latest firmware after I put them in their case and plugged it in for maybe 10 minutes.

I love the fact that they DO NOT block out sound, allowing me to wear them at work or while exercising yet still be aware of other people and my surroundings. In my opinion, sound quality is slightly better than with the wired Earpods. Automatic play/pause feature works really well too! Totally comfortable in my ears, they don't budge. I realize this depends on your ear shape though. They charge quickly in the case, so battery life will not be a problem for me.

Only dislike is the lack of ability to skip. I have an Apple Watch which helps, but I still wish there were an easier way to skip songs. Maybe double tap the left Airpod to pause, and the right one to skip. Some people think Airpods look weird - but hey, not as weird as having wires hanging out of your ears!

Somebody needs to teach Apple about form and function.

I was really excited about getting my AirPods, I had been waiting for months to get mines! After finally receiving them in the mail and trying them out for a few days, I'm sorry to say and it really pains me to admit it but I wouldn't recommend them. I haven't seen a device with this much neglect in its design in a long time.
As far as Bluetooth earphones they seem to be working pretty good, good sound too. But there's no pause or play button and no volume control. I have to use my phone or Apple Watch to do that, I already knew about this and I figured I should be fine since I always wear my Apple Watch. But boy was I wrong. The AirPods are poorly integrated with Apple Watch so I have to load the music app (then wait for it to load) then select volume and then use the dial to change the volume, but the volume doesn't change instantly there's a 2 sec delay between when you select a new volume level and when it actually starts taking effect. Needless to say... It's a lot worse than I thought it would be. Very impractical!
Also when you double tap them it's supposed to bring in Siri, but apparently that feature doesn't work very well. Every time I have to double-tap my AirPods 5 or 6 times for Siri to come up. And it still doesn't always work...
There's also a 2 second delay from when you double tap the AirPod for the software to react, so it gets frustrating because I never know if it did sense my double tap or not. Anyways, a truly disappointing device.

    Love them MUST HAVE

I love the AirPods, i was using beats studio wireless because i spend a lot of time on the phone for work and i mean approx 7-8hrs a day, and they would get heavy after a while, i absolutely love the AirPods, light and convenient, and the charge time is great 15-20 mins and they are back to a 100% for a few hours talk time.

    I love 'em

They fit great, they sound great, and best of all, they feel weightless. They are basically everything a Bluetooth earbud should be. The only shortfall for me is that volume control could be better. Using Siri is clunky for this purpose so you end up having to control the volume from your device. The good in this case far outweighs that "bad", though.

    Absolutely Great!

I have been looking for a good pair of wireless earphones and tried a few different pair. I ended up with lousy sound (I don't consider myself an audiophile), or a bad fit.

Apple calls these Wireless, Effortless and Magical and this is not just marketing. I took the case out of the packaging and opened it next to my phone and tapped connect and sure enough, I was. I immediately played music and the sound is clear as crystal with deep rich bass, something I was missing with other sets.

I put the AirPods back in their case and in less than 10 minutes went from about 70% charged to 100%. The case dropped about 5% in that time. Also true to their word, the AirPods synced with my Apple Watch and MacBook without me doing a thing. I was able to take a conference call using an app on my Mac without dialing in on my phone. The meeting attendees could hear me speak clearly.

    These were worth the wait!
