    Terrible Quality; Not Worth It

This is my first time writing a product review and I never thought I would write one, but this is getting out of hand. If there were a way to give this product 0 stars, I would. I've gone through about 3 pairs of these headphones since I got the Iphone 7 around April and they simply do not work. They seem to go through a pattern. They work fantastically for a few weeks or so and the quality of sound could not be any better. But then the +/- and pause buttons on them stop working and a few weeks after that, one side will stop working all together. Soon after, the headphones will finally break. In the meantime, you can expect them to randomly play and pause songs, activate Siri for no reason, and make random calls at no prompt.

At first I thought it was something I was doing wrong and that this wasn't Apple's fault, especially as the 3.5mm jack headphones had worked brilliantly for me. My last pair of headphones lasted only a month and I almost had a mental breakdown trying to figure out what I was doing wrong, because I couldn't believe I had to pay $29 again and was afraid I would be doing so every month from now on. Thankfully, I checked the reviews of this product before buying it again and it seems that the problem does seem to be with Apple and not me. It appears that Apple has put out a subpar product because they knew they could get away with it, as people would see their only options as these or much, much more expensive wireless headphones. However, you can find wireless headphones for only a few dollars more on Amazon that have almost a perfect 5-star rating and seem to work much better than these headphones that I will be purchasing instead of these headphones right now.

If Apple would improve this product and actually make it work as well and last as long as their 3.5 mm jack headphones, I would consider buying these headphones again, as I've used wireless headphones in the past and do not particularly like the feel of them. I doubt this will happen anytime soon, though, as Apple will continue to get away with creating subpar products as long as people think its their only option. In the meantime, I am going to use wireless headphones and will continue to express my dislike for this product to everyone I possibly can.

    They fall out of ears!

I am not sure which special person has invented the shape and the material but the combination of that ensures that the headphones do not stay in the same position inside the ear, and eventually falls out. I cannot complain about the sound quality but only when they are positioned inside the ear in a certain way, which stays only for like a minute and due to its slippery plastic texture turns around and the sound becomes bad again.
I am sure that they were the cheapest to make and to design and that is why this model is included in every mobile Apple device for free.

I have so far had many Headphones but these where the worst

I like the way the earphones work as they are. That they are not in-ear. But the cables are horrible. They are so "not-good" in fact that I have to buy items to make them more sturdy, because I know they will break quicker than I can replace them.
I hate the Industrial Design Department for their decision to make the product prettier instead of sturdier. Get it together! Nobody likes you!

    Pros and Cons

I just got the iPhone 7 in February and it is now September and the headphones Apple supplied with the iPhone 7 are already broken. I wasn’t very happy at first because you cannot charge your iPhone and listen to music at the same time but once I started using the headphones more I was okay with it because of the lightning cord and the great sound of the headphones. These headphones right ear phone fell off completely. I tried to make it work but it wouldn’t work. I love the sound and quality of these headphone I’m going to spend $29.99 on buying a new pair. I think the wireless Airpods are way to expensive when you can just get these. Im writing this review just for everyone buying these Earpods to be aware that they are very fragile and will break easily like the broken pair I have now. I will be heading to the Apple Store soon to buy a new pair. I hope your EarPods don’t end up like mine. I recommend buying these EarPods. But be careful with them.

    Quite The Scam.

    Apparently my story is a familiar one- you don't even need to scroll down. Let me sum it up for you;

Perhaps you've been using these earbuds for a few months and notice that you are dropping out of important conference calls for work, or, your music is interrupted by Siri randomly, or, you find yourself interrupted while talking on a call only to find out your microphone never worked.

If you are experiencing these symptoms, join the club.

"Hi, my name is Brett, and i'm addicted to spending way too much money at Apple for subpar service and predictable new product rollouts."

I was going to drop another $29.99 because I thought my earbuds were the problem, but I don't think MINE are the problem. I think Apple hastily manufactured a poor product and has been making money off of this very issue. Not falling for it this time- i'll spend the extra money on decent bluetooth headphones not made by a company that is now becoming known more for boring and faulty products than innovation and quality.

Terrible change from the 3.5mm Earpods

Its probably easier for me to write the review in this way.

    What I Like:
    - Sound Produced
    - Fit of the Earpods to my ears
    - The Multiple Functions of the Remote
    - The fact apple gave us an option for Earphones that wasn't just Airpods.

    What I don't Like:
    - Cannot Charge phone at the same time I'm listening to Music or watching a video
    - Remote 9 times out of 10 does not connect - which means you have to unplug the headphones and plug them back in for it to work.
    - When remote does not connect microphone on the Earpods reverts back to phone microphone - very inconvenient when phone is in your pocket riding a bicycle or at the gym and answering a call.
    - Slightest amount of pressure on the lightning connection causes music to pause, this happens to me frequently at the gym when sitting on equipment with phone in my pocket and when I'm on my bicycle.

Bring back the 3.5mm Audio Jack or make Airpods more affordable!

    Does not last long!

My earphones are in perfect condition, they look totally well cared for but out of no where the left side ear stops working. Only lasted 9 months.

I can't believe Apple made this

    1. Music will pause automatically sometimes.
    2. When you press start/pause button 1 time to play music, it will launches Siri.
    3. The EarPods cable is very sensitive and thin.
    4. You will hear a noice when changing musics.

    Redesign please!

The functionality is good. You can skip songs and turn the volume up/down from the microphone pad. However the buds themselves are too large. My ear holes hurt really bad after about 2 or 3 mins or wear. A major turnoff.

    Constantly breaks

I have gone through at least 5 of these earbuds since getting the iPhone 7. They break every month or so and even after getting a brand new pair they skip songs and turn on Siri when I dont intend to. After a couple of weeks they will pause music and then randomly start playing until they completely break and will become unusable. I don't know why they constantly break but Apple needs to figure something out!

    Alright i guess...

I got these with my iPhone 7 back in like September, and they worked for a while really well, but back in May, the right one stopped working, and then the left one stopped too in September of that next year. I guess you could say they lasted about a year, but not well. I want to know if its apples fault or my fault for being too rough with them. Considering how well my other apple products are, i would have expected them to last longer. Its not just the EarPods with Lightning connecter, it was also the EarPods using the Headphone jack too. Maybe Apple can make the headphones stronger.

    Drains battery

I bought these new headphones that connect directly to the charger part on my phone these headphones are draining my battery really fast and now I can't watch a movie and charge my phone at the same time while at work. We need to have options whether we want the old headphones that plug into the headphone jack or the new style. I prefer the old ones.

    Pretty much possesses your phone

I only really started to use these headphones on a daily basis since my adaptor (the dongle) broke about a month and a half ago . Once the left ear stopped working about two weeks ago, it has been screwing around with my phone whenever I plug it in. Sometimes with the headphones plugged in, it will suddenly stop and/or play music, even when I'm not listening to anything and in other apps. Other times it will just suddenly turn in voice control and I've had times when I've said nothing that it will call random people on my phone when this happens. Just today, it sped up all the music that I was listening to until it just shorted out. Now everything is playing at a softer level. Not worth buying this for $29

    Surprising good

Comfort is, you know, they are plastic one so do not expect an miracle.
If they fit to your ear size, could be quite OK.

Sound - fist guess how it is hard to create good sound in such ear pads at all?
From my subjective filling the are fine enought to listening music. They produce clean, balanced sound with fairly good bass.
    What you need more?

Do not but if you have small ears

I got these when I got my iPhone 7 and I would never recommend them to people. Since I have super small ears these do not fit and they ended up cause me so much pain I wanted to cry the EarPods left me with bruised ears. I never expected this from an apple product.

right ear stops working after few months

I am disappointed with these earpods and expected a lot more from Apple. After a few months of use, the right earbuds have completely stopped working. I have looked up repair solutions but I would be unable to open up the earbud without putting it back in place because of its design. I had expected at least a years worth of use out of these but they only lasted a few months of gentle use. As a loyal Apple customer and with the amount of money I put into Apple products, this is frustrating and I am let down.

    Extremely Disappointing.

I used my previous ones for complete two years and they worked perfectly but when I bought these which basically came with iPhone 7 Plus, they hardly last for 2 months only. This poor quality was not expected from Apple at all.

    Terrible

The iPhone 7 has been such a disappointing product... and the headphones that came with it are terrible. Sound quality was average, then one headphone stopped working and now both are gone. Don't buy the iPhone 7 and do not buy these headphones

decent but break after a couple months

ive had these since i got my 7 plus back in October and they worked fine up until about June, they started making weird sounds when the cord wasn't in a certain position and after July they started skipping songs randomly and activating Siri. the sound is alright i suppose and the remote seems to be the first thing to mess up.but i'm happy with the $45 (aud) they cost.

was planning on getting Airpods as the cord and remote or what mess up.until i saw the price. ha! no thanks mate.
