    Excellent product, excellent sound quality

Just received the EarPods with Lightning Connector in the mail and immediately started listening to the music of Chopin's 100 Classical Masterpieces I purchased earlier. The quality of sound in truly excellent. I highly recommend this product.

Nice sound quality but needs more duribility.

Two or three moths ago I bought the IPhone 7 and I saw that there were headphones included with the phone. After the first few weeks I got back to my house and plugged in the headphones. My hands were sweaty when I plugged in the headphones but even after I wiped the part used to plug them in they were never dry again and they remain slippery when ever I use them. Another problem these have is the speakers themselves, Yes the sound quality is better than a lot of headphones ive used but sometimes when i´m using them they make strange loud noises that sound like those a pair of headphones would make if they could scream. The worst part of the problem is that it happens randomly and a few hours ago they made the noises again a loud enough to be heard in the next room and I cut myself trying to get them out.

    Not a good design

Why would you make a phone where you can use earbuds and charge your phone this is definitely not user friendly at all

    Great Bass and quality!

I got these headphones when I purchased the iPhone 7 on the first week release. I go to the gym every week day. I listen to Coremetal, death metal, & Trap City or bass booster songs and they worked wonderfully! I love blasting the bass & hearing the drum solos! I sweat on them, survives, I take them to the Suana room, surivves. I take them to the mist room, still survives! I run with them, doesn't fall off! Rarely have to adjust but that's expected when sprinting like with any other headphones really. Forgot them once in my pockets in laundry, still survives with no issues or quality drop! I don't have issues with them "falling off" my ears. They fit perfectly on me & have nothing to complain about. Sadly now after surviving through all the times at them gym, exposed to water & blasting to the bass booster songs, the right ear is giving out. Have to move it around to work fine but I don't want to keep doing that. So I'm going to purchase a new pair & felt like putting a review! For the price comparing to other headphones, sound & bass quality, & surviving through everything I've used them in for a good few months, they're worth the buy! I've had pervious headphones I used as "back up" when forgot my apple headphones at home, those couldn't last at least 5 days at the gym and through the water elements or having the same bass sound quality. These headphones rock!

    I miss the old ones

I don't know why the function changed with the change, but the sound goes out in and out of the headphones randomly. One ear buds will work at a time but the mic and volume will still work. I have only had these for two months. My other ones before the change would last almost two years at a time.

    Very disappointed

I've been using these earphones for less than a month. I'm not rough with them, and I've taken care of them well, and they haven't been exposed to the elements at all. Considering all of that, they should be working great but they aren't, they've shorted out and shocked me several times!! This is the worst product I've ever received from apple, I wouldn't recommend these to anyone.

Are these made for human ears?

First of all, whatever Apple says about the advantages of the lightning connector is useless.
The new system forces you to use these specific earphones. You can't use the earphones and charge your phone simultaneously any more.
You must use the original or similar models. Alternatively you'll have to carry the jack with you everywhere and use normal earphones. (Good luck in not losing it).
The design, on the other hand, is rather peculiar. Unlike all the previous models of earphones, these ones aren't that stable in the ears. They don't fit properly and get loose with the slightest movement. Add to that the fact that you have to play your music really loud, as any noice around can be easily heard.
It makes me wonder if they were made for human ears... or if Apple deliberately created such an appalling model to push its customers in buying the AirPod type....

    Stopped working after two months

Two months after getting my iPhone 7 these headphones have stopped working during phone calls. £30 to replace them, and they are the quality of normal £5 earbuds.

    Buying a back up pair

These EarPods fit my ears perfectly; I go to sleep listening to an audio book, and even lying on a pillow with the earpod in, I am fine. But as another reviewer stated, everyone's ears are different.

    Wont stay in ears

First off let me say that I tried these out because I was in a pinch and the battery died on my wireless headphones. I'm not sure when but Apple has dramatically increased the quality of these headphones. The previous ones were always kind of weak and tinny sounding. These sound much fuller and richer and would happily wear these as my main headphones BUT they will not stay in my ears. The left ear may stay in for a little while but the right not a chance. And then there are the wires. Never fails that if I can somehow squash them in my ears hard enough to get them to stay for a few minutes, inevitably the wires get caught on something and out they go. Too bad Apple thinks that one size fits all because I think the sound quality is there and would not hesitate to buy the more expensive Airpods but headphones are no good no matter how good they sound if they just wont stay in your ears

Sounded great, durability seems to have taken a hit.

I own several models of (5) Apple EarPods over the past 10 years. This (lightning) model is the first I've owned that has inexplicably fallen apart. I've used these sparingly for a few months and one of the in-ear pods has come apart and tore one of the connecting wires - rendering them useless. I hope this isn't a sign of a drop in quality as a whole. I hope this was an anomaly. Unfortunately I'll have to pay $30 to find out.

    Uncomfortable and Borderline Useless

Forget any drama about the lightning connector, this review is only about the EarPod design. This design incredibly useless. One side won't stay in that ear and the other side hurts that ear. It's very telling that Apple gives away these headphones with iPhones and charges $30 for a replacement while the Apple or Beats brand in-ear style with silicone rubber tips start at $70. The EarPod is a vastly inferior design to the silicone rubber tip.

I'm a believer in Lightning Audio

Everyone was so mad that Apple got rid of the headphon jack, I say Good Bye to that old school plug, and Hello Lightning. I'm an audio nerd who bought SACD and DVD audio back in the day, just for that extra audio fidelity. Now that the Lightning cable feeds directly to a DAC, the music just opens up. Crisp highs sweet mids and tight bass. I hope Apple will lower the royalty price so more companys will make affordable Lightning headphones. Or you Apple, just make more Lightning headphone phone products.

These headphones sound fantastic. They've got great bass, excellent clarity, and they do a good job drowning out background noise too. Not to mention they're robust, I've accidentally slammed my car door on the chord for mine multiple times and they still work perfectly and there's no fraying or kinks in the chord itself. Having a difficult time understanding why some people aren't rating them welll, since they leave nothing to be desired..

    Bad profuct

This product is unreliable! My headphones work one second and the next they don't. It's funny how apple can make a wonderful phone and not be able to make a working set of headphones and adapter! I'm berry disappointed in apple now !

    Worst product imaginable

Usually use my wireless earbuds for the train and subway, but forced to use these for a day. These are the worst design in the world and the sound quality doesn't even matter because they don't fit properly. Can't charge your phone while using these, they don't stay in your ears, and when they are in your ear (however brief that may be) there is absolutely no sound proofing the outside world of noise. These could be the worst product Apple offers, and as of late, that's saying a lot. They ended up in a trash can in Philadelphia somewhere before my trip back home.

Based on 3 months of use...

Initially i was annoyed about the new iPhone 7 only supporting direct connection (as in without any adaptor) via the Lightning Connector, "how dare Apple restrict my choice", etc. Now i can't understand what all the fuss was about. To be fair i'm not an audiophile that has invested £200+ in a pair of individually customized, hand-made diamond encrusted cans forged from baby dragon skin using alien technology, i'm just a guy that loves listening to music every day.

Getting back to the review - I love them, to my ears the bass is deep and packs punch, the middle is full of life and the treble is as crisp as a freshly popped pack of Pringles (i don't mess with any EQ settings). In my humble opinion they sound superior to the standard 3.5mm Pods but to be fair they were used with my older iPhone 5s and I wouldn't be surprised if my new iPhone 7 has 'improved sound technology' built in.

If these ever fail me I will have no complaints at shelling out £29 for a new pair.

Lightning Connector is the weak link

My EarPods with Lightning connector (which came with my iPhone 7) stopped working after 4 months. The reason: Wear and tear at the cable right where it connects to the lightning connector. I am a runner and have previously trained and run two marathons with the standard connector EarPods with no problems over a period of two years. Now, with the new Lightning Connector EarPods, and very light training (I'm not training for an event right now), after 4 months the EarPods stopped working because of the wire splitting where it enters the Lightning Connector.

My running hasn't gotten more demanding. It has only become much less frequent and for shorter duration periods.

Needless to say, I'm very disappointed if the new paradigm is that I'll need to replace EarPods every 3-4 months. Hopefully Apple can resolve this reliability issue ASAP. I also hope they would honor replacements of my EarPods...
