Sound Quality is bad but you get a 12 hours battery and better connection

I owned the power beats wireless 2 and was blown away by the audio quality of it the bass was really heavy just the way i like it vocals were very clear whenever I listened to my audiobooks and the max audio levels were on par with my wired headphones which was something I never experienced before the Powerbeats wireless 2 with any other Bluetooth headphones my only issues with them was the battery life most of the time I would take a spare pair of wired headphones with me just in case my Powerbeats wireless 2 die in the middle of the day ( I listen to a lot of audiobooks ) and that with regular use just taking them out and in of my jeans pockets without their case cuz honestly who wants to put them in and out of a case every time you want to use them ?! within one year the in line audio controls were completely ripped out and the cables broke down on each side and the ear hook also got ripped to a point where the pointy metal part would stab me in the back of my ear also the connection stability was sometimes not very good they would skip a lot in some situations like when I'm running which is bad for sport wireless headphones so I was really excited when I saw that they are coming out with the Powerbeats wireless 3 with the apple w1 chip I thought for sure they would fix my issues with the second edition and to my surprise yes they fixed the six hours battery life by doubling it to 12 hours they fixed the connection stability it doesn't skip any more when i run but at what cost ?! they completely botched the audio quality the bass is almost none existent the max audio levels are very low almost like 70% of my wired headphones the vocals are not clear at all I have to put the audio on max to hear every thing when listing to my audiobooks and when the narrator raises his voice they hurt my ears overall I'm very disappointed with the audio quality the second ones were much better the built quality though is maybe fixed i'm not sure cuz they changed the inline controls a little bit .

overall they messed up the audio quality to fix the battery life and the connection stability. is it a trade off I'm willing to make ?! I'm not sure but I already bought them so I'm screwed I just want you to understand before you buy them what you're giving up and what you're getting when you buy these.
    take care bye

    A completely unreliable product

I bought these back over the summer and have already had them replaced 4 times. They'll work for a week or two and then either constantly disconnect or just stop working. I have never had a problem with an Apple product before this. Highly disappointed that these are so unreliable.

    Not worth the price

I love the fit of this wireless beats while working out you forget you have them on but this is the second pair I own and unfortunately my last pair.

I decided to move on for the following reasons: The microphone part breaks – took it for repair fortunately it was cover under warranty
DO NOT CHARGE – original problem with my first pair and now my second pair its having the same
    Issue.
They work fine for the first six months but their functionality deteriorates after that.
You will think that for this price you will get better quality.

    Break easily

I've had my beats for less than a year and love using them when they are working. However my pair just broke for the second time. Even though they are under warranty it still costs $100 to get them repaired and it has happened twice to me. I will not be buying beats anymore - not good quality.

When they work, they're great. However....

When they work, they're great. However, given this is my third replacement in less than 12 months, its hard to give them any more than three stars. Its been the same fault each time; faulty power/connection button.

Although, I would say they are more reliable than the PB2 they replaced. The battery life is definitely better and being water resistant is also a big help when running in the rain.

The sound is OK and better than the Apple earphones - but not by much. The Wireless3 has the new W1 apple chip and its makes pairing and operation so much easier than the Wireless 2 I originally purchased.

Not sure I would buy again but given they will probably break again in six months, might be upgraded to the Wireless4 (if one exists)

As stated, great when they work and overall, very happy. Reliability a problem though.

    Great for on-the-go

I started running about six months ago, and like a lot of runners, I bring along my iPod during workouts. After nearly pulling out my wired earbuds during my last 5k (which for the record, hurts if done hard enough), I looked into purchasing a wireless set.

I wanted something more music-focused vs fitness. I wear a FitBit, so things like heart rate, distance, etc weren't needed. These fit the bill perfectly. The sound is great, they stay put, and I can barely feel them. The controls on the wire connecting the two pieces is very easy to use, and pairing to my phone/iPod was a snap. I can also take calls on these if necessary, and I have no trouble hearing or being heard.

    Definitely recommend.

Worst Apple Product I Ever Purchased

Contrary to Apple's claims, this piece of junk doesn't "just work." It often doesn’t turn on. Once I turn it on, I have to futz with my iPhone to get it to play through the earphones. It has a turn-on sound and a turn-off sound that are hard to distinguish. And now my earphones no longer charge. Wish I had returned these within the two week period.

Garbage. The free Apple headphones sound better

Listen to these about 10 minutes with several different songs. Intolerable. Garbage.

    Build quality is bad.

Avoid. Spend a bit more and buy the Bose QC 30's or save your money and use the free Apple headphones. I returned mine instantly...

    Exchanged 4 pairs

Ive had the powerboats 2 for around 2 years, and my experience has been somewhat of a roller coaster, after purchasing my first pair, around 6 months later the control buttons seem to malfunction, thus making them no longer usable and forcing me to control using my iPhone. I believe the reason being is sweat destroying the headphones, even though they claim to be waterproof. A couple months later after charging they seemed to not turn on anymore, and Beats support was very helpful in sending me another pair, however around 3 months later same problem. I am currently on my 5th pair which is quite a frustrating as i am very reliant on these headphones in the gym.

    Problems after 30 days

Loved them for the first 30 days. I first noticed a problem when I was working out and the volume started getting increasingly softer over the period of a minute. Eventually, there was just no sound. I thought that maybe they were dead. I took a look at them and they still had a white light indicating power. I took them off and charged them anyway.
During my next workout - with a fresh charge - they started doing the same thing. The volume would decrease on its own. This time, I pushed the increase and the volume did increase for the rest of my ride.
I started having problems powering up also. I noticed it would take longer and longer for them to power up.
I just took them off of the charger. There is a constant white light, but I can't get them to pair, turn off, or reset. I have tried everything I can think of and everything outlined on their website.
I purchased these for $200 in the apple store on November 22, 2016. Today is December 30, 2016 and they are unable to be used. This is the first time I have ever written a review, but you should be wary of this purchase.

The best wireless workout earphone by far!

Powerbeats3 all the way! I have tried Bose SoundSport Wireless, Jaybird X2 (and X3!), JBL Mini BT and there is no way... Powerbeats3 will always be my choice!!

They are louder, with better fit, better bass and better construction. I use to workout and during the day (wired no more!)

Just dont listen to the haters who probably have never tried Beats in life (or had fake Beats from Ebay).

    PowerBeats3 usability not as expected

I had a powerbeats2 before. It worked fine however after half a year the battery had a problem. The battery was empty after two days even fully loaded before.
I gave them back and waited for powerbeats3 which I got last week.
The connection to iPhone and MacBook was possible without a problem - even I had to upgrade my iPhone to 10.1.1 in order to get them working. This was strange.
On my Mac Book Pro I am very disappointed. There is no battery status for the powerbeats3 (for powerbeats2 there was a battery status available!). The voice quality for calls eg Skype is terrible (with powerbeats2 it was very good).

It seems that powerbeats3 are not fully supported by macOS Sierra - I am on 10.11.6.
Overall too expensive for what I got!

    No seal

Which results in lack of bass unless you want to workout while pressing them in. No go for me.

    Apple Watch Issue with Powerbeats3?

I used the Powerbeats2 headphones for over a year. I love their fit, sound, range and battery life, and they were my favorite pair after testing them against several other leading brands. The control finally went out on my Powerbeats2 and so I just purchased a set of Powerbeats3 headphones. My first impression was that the bass was very weak, but I found that if I rotated the top of the headphones back, as indicated by the instructions, the sound substantially improved. Within a few days of pairing Powerbeats3 with my phone, I started experiencing communication problems with my Apple Watch (an original model). Problems included Siri, weather updates, activity updates, and the watch and phone notifying me that they could not communicate. I noted that the watch had directly paired with the Powerbeats3 (which seemed a valuable feature), and removed Powerbeats3 from the watch, but this did not help. I am hoping this is resolved by software updates. Other than the Apple Watch pairing issue (which I cannot confirm is related to the Powerbeats3) the Powerbeats3 are working fine.

    A big, expensive disappointment

I was looking forward to the arrival of my Powerbeats3, and they arrived yesterday. There are several good things about them. They look great (I got the red), and they can be adjusted to fit the top of the ear fairly easily. Battery life appears to be great, and pairing is certainly easy.

For me, the main disappointment is the sound, which combines mediocrity with a high price tag. To be blunt, my $30 earbuds (magic) actually seem to deliver better sound. I've tried various tweaks with equalizers, etc., but--amazingly for Beats--they sound tinny, lacking body I didn't expect them to be equal to my wired Bose noise-reducing earbuds, but I did expect them to be significantly better than my $30 wireless earbuds that look almost identical (but not as heavy).
