Not happy with this cover at all

I was expecting the cover to hold a little stronger but the magnets are weak. The cover also only creates awful angles to hold and use the iPad. I wished i used this before buying. Shop for an alternative if needing a cover. Does cover the face nicely for travel.

    Horrible waste of money

In the old days, the ipad2 cover was excellent, it had an additional fold with made the cover much, much ... much better. Nevertheless, no matter how i careful i am with this 10.5 cover, my iPad keeps falling backwards. And, the lower angle is horrible, once again, with the ipad2 cover, i could adjust the cover much better. As others have mentioned, the agent if week and the fit is loose.

    It's a horrible cover

    Magnet too weak

If you only plan to use this with nothing covering the back of your iPad, then you are good to go. If you plan to use any of the many back covers now on the market, be prepared for this thing to flop around on you and not stick to the back while open. The folding stand configuration is also too flimsy and will collapse on you. Apple needs to ask their design teams to start over and consider real world use. Given the cost, this is a terrible product.

Cover, not a case. Just a thin sheet for the screen

Note that this is a COVER, not a case. It is a flimsy, thin piece of felt that covers ONLY THE SCREEN. If you bought an iPad case from Apple in the past, know that this isn't it (there's no back, it doesn't wrap around the iPad). I'm not sure what the use case is for this product, but it shouldn't be the only iPad Air protective accessory on Apple's website.

Surprised by how good it is

I was hesitant buying the Smart Cover for my new iPad Pro given some of the reviews here and on Amazon, but I've been pleasantly surprised. The magnets are strong and keeps the cover on securely - not much movement as mentioned in other reviews. I have a case on the back that works with the cover, but has a slight lip that keeps the cover from laying really flat on the screen. However, the magnets are still strong enough to keep the cover from easily lifting up from the screen and therefore turning on the display. Folding the cover back creates a secure triangle that is quite stable as a stand. Overall, I've very happy with the purchase.

Not a smart case for drops

This is good for protecting the galas but it has NO back to it and therefore does not cover any of the edges against a drop. Will be returning as this is not the solution that I was looking for. Sorry Apple.

    Terrible. Do not buy!

I purchased this for myself last week and have only used it twice as it is a really appalling product. The magnet isn't even strong whatsoever so be prepared for your brand new iPad to fall out of this joke of a 'smart cover' and break !!!! Complete waste of money. Save it and buy a better one elsewhere for half the price. Not impressed Apple. Not impressed at all.

    Warning! It Fits Loose

This is, by all definitions, a classic Apple Smart Cover. If you've never owned one, it is a polyurethane sheet that magnetically attaches to the front and folds into a stand. I have used a Smart Cover for all of my iPads, and I've always loved them—this one is no exception. However, if you have used a Smart Cover before, you may find this one weaker than your others. It wobbles around pretty easily with a lot of slack on the magnets, leaving parts of the glass exposed frequently. It doesn't fall off, it just has a lot of give. It's really a surprising quality issue for Apple, and not anything I would ever expect from their products. If that is an issue you can live with, I highly recommend this cover. It looks great! If not, don't be afraid to look into another type of case.

Best Cover Available - Wishing for a Matching Silicone Case

I used to always buy discounted cases from third party manufacturers. Until I bought an iPad Pro 9.7" - then I bought the Smart Cover and Silicone Case for the back. Wow! What a huge difference. Yeah, they seem expensive, but they are unrivaled in terms of fit and overall quality. They also feel so good in the hands! Which is so important when using a tool like an iPad.

So when I preordered the iPad Pro 10.5", I also ordered the Smart Cover for it. It's just an amazing cover, hands down. It blows the other covers out of the water. If you haven't tried one out yet, then do yourself a favor. If you don't like it then you can return it, but I'll bet that you decide to keep it.

I wish Apple would sell a matching Silicone Case for the back. No one makes a case like they do, so light and thin. Maybe their cases are more expensive than some others, but maybe that's how much R&D costs for the best items, or maybe it's how much the R&D costs to ensure they will continue to come out with the best accessories for their own products. Either way, it's well worth it.
