    Good, quality product

The cover is nice and light, yet sturdy and well made. It's held in place by strong magnets. Perfect for protecting the screen and for use as a stand. The last Apple Smart Cover I had lasted for years. Holds up very well.

    Love this cover

It is very light, and installed perfectly with its very powerful magnets. The microfiber inside is soft. I love my new iPad and cover!

    Terrible

    It's half a case. Waste of $40.

    Hmmmm

I recently purchased the 2017 iPad to replace my now almost useless iPad 2. The new iPad is fantastic and is sold at a very reasonable price. However, this Smart Cover for the new iPad is much lighter and feels cheaper than the one I had on my iPad 2. Seriously, when I picked it up I thought a part of it was missing - it's so light.

The magnet that holds the cover on is quite strong, but the metal hinge design from the iPad 2 Smart Cover is missing on this product.

It looks just as nice when it's on the iPad though. I hope it lasts as long as my new iPad does.

Worse than the iPad Pro 9.7" Smart Cover.

I bought Smart Covers for all my iPads including the iPad minis, iPad Pros and iPad Airs.I was sicked with the old blue Smart Cover for the iPad Air 2 so I decided to make a change. I bought this Smart Cover and found that it's very annoying! I always take good care of my Apple Products and all of them are in Perfect Condition! However, this Smart Cover ruined my iPad. The place where the Smart Cover's magnet attached to, scratched by the Smart Cover, not 1 scratch, but 3 scratches! I don't understand what material is this. I wiped the Smart Cover with wet tissues before attaching it to the iPad so that it's dust free! So that means it's the material of the Smart Cover which causes the scratches. Besides, the magnet of the Smart Cover is not as strong as the iPad Pros'. Definitely not worth it. Think about it before buying! [This is my personal experience, doesn't mean that all the Smart Covers will have the same problems.]
