My wife and I both use the milanese loop, gold and black, on 44mm case series 4 for the last eight months. We purchased the bands from the Apple store.
Can not complain about any sharp edges, fading color, metal residue, pinched hair and other imagined defects.
The loop is safe, the magnetic clasp works well, and the quality of the band is top notch.
Yes, it is expensive, but secures well the watch, compared to the other cheap bands.

    WAS GREAT... till it wasnt

    • Written by JONATHAN B from Springfield

So the magnet is really strong, and the band was beautiful but a year into using it (and not all the time mind you), some of the metal has splintered off creating a point in the band that cuts into your wrist, clothes, the dog, well you get the idea. For the price one might expect this kind of issue not to occur especially give the fact that I run a software company so am not tough on it.

On the good side, the clasp is strong enough to wear even while swimming laps, which i do nearly every day.

Beautiful band, but it will scratch your watch.

    • Written by Fouad H from Toronto

I loved this band when I first bought it. It is stylish and fits perfectly. I agree with other reviewers that it will sometimes pull your hair. The one thing that really stood out is the fact that it will scratch your watch really fast and bad. No matter how much I took care of it, eventually my watch was all scratched. I just got the series 4, but will not put the band on it. I wish apple would bring back the regular leather bands, not the ridiculously expensive Hérmes bands.

Awesome - More than I expected

    • Written by Zachary N from Los Banos

I really love this band and think it's totally worth the price. It's super light, looks great and is really easily adjustable. Unlike the sports band and others that have notches, this one has a magnet so you can make tiny adjustments to fit your wrist perfectly. I had read all the negative reviews and still decided to give the band a try and am really glad I did. I’ve been wearing it for about a month and I don’t have a single complaint. It looks really elegant and fits so comfortably that I often forget I’m even wearing my watch. I highly recommend it. Also, I was a little skeptical about the description of the band being “Milanese” and whatnot, but sure enough it shipped directly from Milan. Nice Job.

Extremely Weak Magnet compared to standard stainless steel

    • Written by Charles E from boucherville

I had two original milanese for my original apple watch 0 and for 3 years I never had any problems with them except of when i broke one. It stayed on and I rarely had to adjust the band, For my apple watch 4 I decided to go with the black version that came with the Black Milanese.. oh my what a difference. The magnet is so weak I keep having to readjust it and it constantly falls off when im putting on a jacket or a long sleeve shirt. I love the band but really, the magnet makes it a nightmare to wear. I went from adjusting my watch once a day to 400 times a day. The problem seems to be widespread because all of my friends who bought the band also have the same issue. Night and day compared to the original band. I'm not sure if the black finishing on the band makes it harder for the magnet to catch but apple definitely needs to fix this problem because it is one of the most expensive band they sell if you take into account that the link band has not been refreshed.

    Visually Stunning

    • Written by Wolfgang T from Ardsley

I have read the reviews and I have to say I have not found nor experienced any of the side effects. The band is beautiful and makes the Apple watch visually very appealing. The band however does take getting used to especially if one likes wearing ones watch loosely, this band is tight. However, I have not managed to pull any hair; nor have I expierenced any skin abrasions, nor managed to cut or scratch anyone or anything with it. It is a stainless steel wrist band and as such is harder than most everyday materials one interacts with so it is not entirely inconceivable that the band could scratch something, which however would require quite some pressure. If you like your watch to look smart and stylish this band is the way to go. The only slight gripe I have with the band is that I would wish it would 10 mm longer just like the sports loop, its current length makes a bit tough to slide the watch over my hand when putting it on and off. The website description is accurate and I strongly recommend measuring the circumference of ones wrist, mine is at the upper limit of 180 mm any larger and one will have trouble.

    Love it!!!

    • Written by Tammy M from San Marcos

Purchased as a gift to MYSELF. Mostly because of how amazing I am. Managed to NOT scratch or damage
any other electronics while wearing. No doctors visits or warts needing removed.
My goodness some of you don’t deserve to own this product.
You should be rooming with a bubble boy so you don’t hurt yourself lol.
I especially love that it’s metal. Beautiful accessory.

Don't what some reviews are talking about.

    • Written by Kerry S from Vancouver

I think this is a great metal strap for the Apple Watch. People are complaining about it pinching wrist hair but mine are are hairy as any else's and I have no issues. It's comfortable, adjustable and I wear it from morning to bedtime. Looks great, feels great. Very happy with my purchase.

I don’t have hairy arms, but this band still manages to pull hairs out pretty consistently. And the corner edges of the magnet clasp has sharp edges that scraped my little daughter when she grazed it with her arm. It’s beautiful and adjusts to a perfect fit, but it’s not comfortable.

    skin abrasion led to Dermatologist

    • Written by MOLLY P from Morgantown

This band caused skin abrasions, which led to sizable wart growth (warts are viruses, commonly on skin); & expensive Dermatology appt. for removal.

This is my second purchase of this band: it is uncomfortable & I thinks 'tis made by a different manufacturer than its 1st iteration, which I loved

    disappointing - pros and cons

    • Written by Michael S from Fleet

I acquired this strap along with my new 44mm apple watch; swapped it for the standard strap as soon as I unpacked. It looks very smart and and is infinitely adjustable around my wrist. However after two weeks of wearing it I have found some downsides. The wide strap to go with the wide watch takes up a lot of room and as I flex my wrist the edge gets pushed against my hand; the edge is quite "sharp" and has marked my skin on occasion. The strap adds a significant extra to the weight of the watch. The biggest flaw is that the magnetic catch mechanism can withstand very little stress; normal activity and wrist flex pulls on the strap and the catch slides back along it, the strap becomes loose, so I am forever having to tighten it up again. A minor annoyance is that when the strap is fully open the catch folds back right next to the watch and is difficult to detach - the strap could do with a non-magnetic section immediately behind the magnet to leave the catch free.

    Milanese Loop causes scratches

    • Written by Patrick Z from Weiningen

Even though the Apple Watch's visual appearance is stunning, there is a design flaw. The Milanese Loop's diamond-like carbon layer causes micro-scratches on your MacBook and even on the Apple Watch's sapphire glass which the band can touch when you take off the watch.

    Elegant but uncomfortable

    • Written by Joseph M from Selma

To address somebody's 1 star review, nothing on this band is razor sharp. This is definitely not razor sharp, but it can irritate your wrist or pull your hair if you are very active. This band will also scratch your glass and case if you are not careful with it. It looks nice, but don't recommend it for anything other than trying to make a statement.

    DO NOT BUY! Sharp Edges!

    • Written by Dane J from Oakton

I just received my new Apple Watch and right after I set it up, I went to work on my new MacBook Pro and this watch band scratched the top my laptop! The end of the band has a metal tab and the inside edges are razor sharp. DO NOT BUY THIS BAND!
