Great, but with this newest version iPad shakes??

    • Written by AARON P from Washington

I have had an iPad Pro since their debut in 2015, both sizes, all interactions, always with a keyboard/folio combo. Lamented that the original 12” set up - with the full cover that detached from the keyboard, was discontinued, but was a big user and fan of the new keyboard that came up with the 10.5 inch, which I have used avidly since 2017. Recently upgraded to the 11”. I love these keyboards and find them easier to type on than any MacBook keyboard I have, especially the new “butterfly” generation. So now that I have now my 3rd keyboard folio, I am all but shocked to see that THE IPAD SHAKES WHEN I TOUCH IT WITH THIS KEYBOARD!!! Has anybody else experienced this? It has totally detracted from the experience of the folio from the first moments of using it. Basically, when I reach for the screen with the iPad in either position, and tap at all, the entire iPad shakes. It’s like the back support of this case is too flimsily designed. Makes me feel like if I go to an expensive restaurant and sit down and the table wobbles because the legs are not balanced. This is a huge annoyance and I am not sure if this is something I can get used, and frankly I shouldn’t have to! I have combed the web for alternatives to Apple’s folios, even bought and tested Logitech and Brydge and ultimately deemed the Apple the best. This is an amazing disappointment. I hope they will fix this I’d pay another $170, as unreasonable as that is, to get the original Apple keyboard folio experience back. I am curious, anybody else finding this as annoying as me?

    Poor Design

    • Written by Tyler D from Wilmore

I am a salesman, so I am not rough on my device at all. My first Keypad Folio Case got a bubble on the back that popped (best way to describe was like a pizza bubble) and now my second one has busted at the seems. It is a shame we pay $180 for a keypad that cant withstand a back pack (in the laptop compartment) and just hand carrying. Only Pro is the keypad works well.

    Offers no protection at all

    • Written by Geoffrey R from Ashford

I bought this keyboard for my new iPadPro11 thinking that it would be the best solution for avoiding having to type on the screen. Yes, it's looks good, and 'mates' well with the iPad. But, once again, this is an Apple product where form and style totally outweighs functionality. It's slim and light so keeps the iPad from feeling bulky. BUT, when my brand new iPad fell out of the smart folio and landed on a concrete floor, resulting in cracked screen, I realised that the Folio offered no protection at all. Typical Jonny Ive design - style over substance !!

Luckily Apple replaced the iPad for £39 thanks to Apple Care. I then returned and exchanged the Apple Smart Keyboard Folio for the Logitech keyboard. This is far superior in many ways and offers much better protection, especially at the corners, and has the very real advantage of a back-lit keyboard (unlike the Apple Smart Folio, where typing in the dark is well-nigh impossible).

The down-side of the Logitech keyboard is that it adds considerable build and weight to the iPad. But if you use your iPad when out and about, and travel a lot with it, then the Logitech is a far better proposition than the Apple product.

Maybe now that Jonny Ive has 'left' Apple we will start seeing some much more practical designs functionality takes precedence over smart and trendy appearances?

    Stiff Space Bar Button

    • Written by Mohamed E from Dubai

I bought this keyboard for almost 3 weeks now with an iPad Pro and Pencil, I can say that I’m satisfying with the iPad and the pencil but the keyboard came to be dissatisfying to me, the space bar button is hard and stiff, and not as the one I found in display when i was testing before buying, after 1 week I took it back to the store and they were trying to help me and the opened a new case and found to be stiff as well, the guy told me it might be a matter of time till it get smoother, this is quite odd to me and the answer looks unscientific, I called Apple and I opened a ticket and very fantastic supper supportive person spent with me long time discussing this issue, he has tried to contact many place to find if the same is happening with other users or not, I start to feel my thumb is over sensitive and I shouldn’t complain any more, but the fact is I’m supper fast typer for the last 20 years and no one can tell me that I miss to put the space in place..!! I’m waiting for Apple to advise or I’m returning this keyboard back to Store within the one year warranty, I can tell that I don’t like to type because of this ugly experience.

    Not the best

    • Written by Ted G from Mesa

It does what it does but it is extremely overpriced for the quality. Mine had scuffs and the material was rubbing off after only 2 weeks of minor use. Very disappointed.

    Hate it

    • Written by Carrie V from DARIEN

I really hate this! It provides absolutely no protection along the sides and when you don’t want to use the keyboard and you fold it back your fingers are against the keys! It’s so uncomfortable to hold. And you can’t take it off because then you have no protection at all. It also only comes in one gray color. on my old iPad Pro I had a beautiful lavender cover that the iPad tucked into and it covered the sides and protected it really nicely. Then there was a separate keyboard that attached magnetically. When you folded it back you weren’t touching the keys because they were tucked inside. You could also remove the keyboard and just hold the iPad with only the back cover on it. This is just awful. I feel like if I drop the iPad it’ll fall right out of this cover and crack into 1 million pieces. Really really hate this especially for that price!

    Big price for bad quality

    • Written by Kaloyan A from Swansea

Have had it only for a few days and the polyurethane already looks weird and scratched up and the edges are weird and imperfect. My partner has the 10.5 Pro and his has threads sticking out of the fabric edges.. that’s just ridiculous

Would absolutely not recommend for the price.

    Worked great...for about a year

    • Written by Mark W from Hayward

I really thought this was a good keyboard/folio case. However after a year, it started going berzerk. Stopped working, only worked occasionally, and also cause my iPad Pro's battery to drain fast. I had to stop using it. Now I am ordering another non-apple keyboard for my iPad Pro. Will see how that one works.

I would stay away from this one, however. It's very expensive (1.5x the price I paid for the replacement) and unreliable. I think it would work better if I had not used it in bed and only used it on a desk or something, but that just doesn't seem practical.

    Steer clear!

Doesn't hold onto the IPAD AT ALL

    • Written by Shannon R from Cheyenne

I was excited to get this for my new iPad, but it has no ability to hold the iPad in place. So essentially, the iPad slides all over it. You can use the groves on the bottom (the keyboard side), but the back of the casing doesn't have any magnets, clasps, ANY way to hold the iPad in place. I needed a keyboard to travel with and not just use in one precarious position. This is ridiculously low quality for this price range and for Apple to carry in general. I don't know how well the actual keyboard works because it is useless to me if there is no way to secure the iPad to it.

    Easy to type, NO protection

    • Written by Tyler S from Alpine

This keyboard is okay, it is definitely more about form over function as it has zero protection for your iPad. I would avoid this keyboard altogether and get the Logitech one or the new Brydge. They’re both Bluetooth but work better and have way more protection. Apple’s use of the smart connector on the BACK of the device is dumb and not useful whatsoever. AVOID this keyboard as it is overpriced and not protective AT all.

    DO NOT BUY!

    • Written by Hannah S from Sudbury

Brought this along with the 11” iPad Pro - it is not secure enough! After a week of having it, my iPad slipped out and smashed.....I’ve wasted £1000 on a ‘premium’ product which I can now no longer use!! Absolutely useless!!!!

    Not worth the money

    • Written by Donald M from Gilbert

I was so excited when I receive my new iPad Pro 11. I had high hopes where the keys to revive protection for my new iPad. I was wrong. The case has a couple of flaws. One, no protection for the sides of the device. Two, the case when closing at the magnet that holds the iPad in place is not strong enough to maintain its attachment to the case and the iPad will fall out. So far my iPad has fallen to the ground three times. All I can say is you would be better off taking the money you would spend on this case and burn it. Sorry Apple but it’s time for you to go back to the drawing board.

Do not Buy, it will wreck your screen

    • Written by Will H from Wallsend

£179 for the pleasure of having my screen scratched when the keyboard is closed. That’s over £1000 down the drain. A problem that would have been dealt with I’d it was shipped with a screen film or protector but of course the iPad Pro apparently doesn’t need one... very poor deign flaw! Ruined iPad!

Keyboard is nice, but offers no protection for 3 sides.

    • Written by ALLEN C from HACIENDA HEIGHTS

Keyboard is functional and thin and now battery needed. But it offers no protection for 3 sides and all four corners. The iPad pops out almost every time when I pull it off the keyboard to close, once it pops out it's thin and slippery and it may fall to the ground (like I did, all four corners are damaged). I regret getting this.

Not worth the price (even if cost half what it does)

    • Written by Gary K from Acworth

I bought this for my new 11" iPD Pro because nothing else was available. This is better than the first gen which I had on my original 12" iPad Pro but still leaves too much to be desired to justify the cost. The cover/keyboard sacrifices protection for thinness and lightness. The back does not stay on. Every time I try to fold or unfold the iPad the back pops off. You need bright light to see the keys. I wish I had taken it back and gotten my money back within the grace period. I will be getting the Logitech case/keyboard when it becomes available (with backlit keys).

    Great WHEN it works!

    • Written by Jacqueline F from Eau Claire

I loved this for the first several months. Then it would quit working and I would wipe off the contacts and restart the iPad and all would be well for a short time. Now it has totally quit responding. I have had it about 1 1/2 years.

    Cardinal Design Flaw

    • Written by Chris H from Charlotte

If a keyboard case’s design has the keyboard resting on my iPad’s beautiful screen (which will lead to screen scratching through normal use) then the design is a complete failure. This case fails the test. Apple needs to redesign.

Returned it after a couple of days!!

    • Written by David L from Palm City

This cover is not handholding friendly. The iPad Air 2 cover I previously owned was soft, well rounded and comfortable to hold. This one was hard & sharp edged, offered little protection and fell out of the cover a couple of times in only a few day. The trade off for a physical keyboard was not worth the terrible annoyance every time I used it to simply hold and read! I bought the otter box and will wait for the Logitech keyboard cover to be released (soon I hope!). Apple really missed the mark on this one!
