    Surprisingly Wrong!

    • Written by Brett H from Shelton

I gotta tell you... I was more than a little skeptical of this keyboard for my 11-inch iPad Pro, mostly because I thought it would be too small and cramped to type on, and I didn't like the idea that when I wasn't using it, it would fold back on the back of the iPad with the keys exposed. But I was SURPRISINGLY WRONG about this thing! In fact, I love it. A lot. You'll be surprised to know that this is actually one of my favorite keyboards to type on now, next only to Apple's own Magic Keyboard 2. It's comfortable, I don't mind the keys being exposed on the back at all, especially since they provide protection for my iPad and, should I spill something on it while typing, the keys are protected by a sturdy lining too. Plus I've got a convenient keyboard always with me, even for those times I'm not expecting to need it. I was surprisingly wrong, and I'm pretty glad.

    Great Keyboard

    • Written by Nick A from St Helier

Really impressed with this keyboard. It has allowed my iPad Pro 11” to truly be a laptop replacement. It does t bulk out the iPad and keeps the iPads small profile. Lovely to touch type on, has a great feel to it. The two positions work perfectly, and allows stable typing whilst on my lap, which was something I was worried about, but it does the job. It provides protection to screen and back whilst travelling. It attaches and detaches so quick and easily without the fuss of other products. I’m really impressed with the device it’s met my expectations and then some. I know some think it’s pricey, but given the quality, it’s performance and overall stylish design I think it is worth it and allows my iPad to become a true laptop replacement and a great road worrier. Highly recommended on all levels.

Actually despite appearances it is badly designed

    • Written by Russell F B from East Brisbane

As a keyboard it's great. The 11" iPad Pro is wonderful. But after less than a week this key board has scratched the screen of my shiny new iPad. Really not happy about that. The design allows far too much abrasion between the keys (particularly the return key) and the screen. The result ... real scratches on the the screen. Avoid this thing.

Horrible quality of materials - Great keyboard

    • Written by Gabriel H from Ojai

I would suggest not buying this keyboard. I've owned it for less than a year and the leather (or cover material) is rippling on the outside. I feel like I need a case for my case. I've asked apple support for warranty information but they said that they do not cover cosmetic damages. It's really sad to see such an expensive peripheral plagued by bad quality materials.

You should be able to hold your iPad and not have the cover damaged.

    The keyboard/hardware is great btw.

    Why all the hate?

    • Written by Guy G from Colchester

Picked one of these up for my new iPad Pro 11 and I can't grasp why so many people are complaining. For the last 2 days, I've been trialing whether or not I can replace my MBP 15 with this while traveling/flying on businesses. So far, YES I CAN, this keyboard has enabled me to work so much quicker and is only made better with the iPadOS beta just released, the angle of the iPad and screen is just perfect. Another thing I love about this case is the magnets. I hate cases on my phones, laptops and iPad at the same time as I am OCD about scratches. I always felt the cases for iPads scratch when you clip unclip clip unclip etc. With the magnets, these days are gone. Some points to what I've read and heard about this case:

"It makes my iPad bulky" - Well yes, what did you expect... you're adding an entire keyboard, its not that thick, we're talking roughly the thickness of the latest MacBook Pro

"It won't protect my device if I drop it" - True if you drop the iPad on its side it won't, but common guys, you have an £1100 device. Take care of it.

"its expensive" - It is Apple.... what did you expect. also in apple tradition, while expensive. "It just works" no charging, no clipping it into place, just slap it on, and you're good to go.

Best Apple accessory I've bought to date.

    Will do for now...

    • Written by Paul K from Apple Valley

For now, this will do until another vendor comes out with a better one. What I do not like:

    No caps lock light
    No backlit keys
Cannot use voice recognition when the keyboard is activated <- BIGGEST ISSUE
Keys on the table when opened flat

Do not mind some complaints others have had, but the biggest is that I cannot use voice recognition.

Had a way better one for my iPad 2 at a fraction of the price.

    Poor materials and durability

    • Written by d.a.m.0 S from Glasgow

Whilst I initially balked at the price of a keyboard cover touching £190 I went full in with the iPad Pro, pencil 2 etc. The cover was an expensive mistake. Drab, grey clammy plastic which marks easily - and the keys constantly mark the screen. Now just 8 months in the surface is starting to 'bubble' and a split is opening up on the hinge. Took it into the local Applestore who said these were just 'cosmetic' issues and unless the cover split completely in two it still technically functioned (!) First real Apple fail Ive encountered. Plan to offload on ebay and buy something more durable, that comes with pencil protection, from logitech or other.

    Stiff Space Bar Button

    • Written by Mohamed E from Dubai

I bought this keyboard for almost 3 weeks now with an iPad Pro and Pencil, I can say that I’m satisfying with the iPad and the pencil but the keyboard came to be dissatisfying to me, the space bar button is hard and stiff, and not as the one I found in display when i was testing before buying, after 1 week I took it back to the store and they were trying to help me and the opened a new case and found to be stiff as well, the guy told me it might be a matter of time till it get smoother, this is quite odd to me and the answer looks unscientific, I called Apple and I opened a ticket and very fantastic supper supportive person spent with me long time discussing this issue, he has tried to contact many place to find if the same is happening with other users or not, I start to feel my thumb is over sensitive and I shouldn’t complain any more, but the fact is I’m supper fast typer for the last 20 years and no one can tell me that I miss to put the space in place..!! I’m waiting for Apple to advise or I’m returning this keyboard back to Store within the one year warranty, I can tell that I don’t like to type because of this ugly experience.

    Battery Backup

    • Written by Michael P from Folsom

Just received my back-ordered keyboard (delayed shipment during purchase)... Types well, but certainly adds some weight.

One curiosity: Given the thickness/weight, behind the keypad where the iPad Pro III magnetically rests, seems like a good place for backup batteries (think Mophie), instead of thick support plastic. I presume there are battery dangers preempting the idea, but it was one of my first thoughts when I opened it... Wow, this is thick, does this thing actually have batteries to extend the battery life of the iPad when connected? Certainly didn’t see it in the description when I purchased it, but given the thickness behind the keypad, thought I may have accidentally missed that added feature.

    ...Just sayin’

But, still a very good keyboard and iPad Pro III protector

    LOVE this case!

    • Written by Anthony R from London

LOVE IT! Never bought a Smart Keyboard for iPad before and very glad I bought this one. So stable to use and much more fluid to type on than the on-screen keyboard. PLUS - So easy to swap for the the Smart Folio case (Apple's other 11" iPad Pro case without the keyboard) when I want to just read or watch films.

The best keyboard-case combo you can buy.

    • Written by Stephen H from Orange

This is the best keyboard folio you can buy. It's fits perfectly and, more importantly, it fits snuggly. Too many other folios have too much play and tip over/slide around. Not this one.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 starts is that at $180, it's priced about $50-$60 too high.

Ignore the 1-2 star reviews. Clearly those individuals need to buy a MacBook Air, not a tablet with a keyboard portfolio attachment. Pro tip: The iPad Pro 11" is not a notebook and it never will be.

    Good Feel. Big keys.

    • Written by Bruce T from ELKRIDGE

I wish Apple would make these “smart” keyboards with backlit keys for times when you are typing in low light situations. I knew this about the keyboard before I bought it, just hope that Apple reads these reviews and gives it some thought.

    1. While the keys feel a bit spongy (not as crisp as the Apple Magic Keyboard), overall I would say it works nicely. Keystrokes are positive and true.
    2. I like that the keyboard doesn’t require separate charging.
    3. The stand, which has 2 slots for positioning the iPad Pro, has strong magnetic to hold the iPad in the stand and for securing it when closed.
    4. Keyboard does put the iPad to sleep when closed

    1. A little pricey
    2. A lack of backlit keys (I know, neither does the Magic keyboard), but it would be a nice feature.
    3. While my hands are clean when I use the keyboard, I notice that the iPad screen gets ‘smudged’ by the keyboard when closed.

Sturdy, but compromised for the sake of design purity (again) :(

    • Written by Pierre R from Woodbridge

The new keyboard cover has serious flaws. a) No protection on the sides, b) no position to write with the pen (a major feature/reason to buy the iPad pro), c) no position that allows the iPad to stand without the keyboard sticking in front.

The keyboard folio cover for the previous gen iPad Pro was so much more versatile and thus better, I wish Apple would sometime "compromise" design for function, at the end of the day you're selling tools/devices to be used, not to win a design context. If that's what you're into you should get into sculpture or pottery not making electronics.

This case is garbage. It constantly falls off of ipad.

    • Written by Cep C from Edmond

This case is garbage. Don’t waste your $.

It constantly falls off of the ipad, even with careful adult use.

It is a slim fit, and the keyboard itself works well.

However, the entire product is ruined by the faulty magnets that simply will not hold the case onto the ipad.

Extremely annoying to use. The ipad falls off of this case constantly. Find another case, this one is garbage.

    • Written by Kaloyan A from Swansea

Have had it only for a few days and the polyurethane already looks weird and scratched up and the edges are weird and imperfect. My partner has the 10.5 Pro and his has threads sticking out of the fabric edges.. that’s just ridiculous

Would absolutely not recommend for the price.
