    Hard to hear

    • Written by Cole S from Bellbrook

when having the air pods in the only way I could hear my music if i turn it up all the way. And I noticed that my brother had the same problem and when he had his in the sound would come out of the outside of the airpods. That is why I rated this Poduct 3 stars.

Quality isn't the same as 1st generation Airpods

    • Written by Diego A from Sherman Oaks

Quality isn't the same as 1st generation Airpods. These 2nd gen AirPods are pretty bad. As you open it you can hear a cracking sound like cheap plastic and the door opening slides where it shouldn't. Not good quality as before.

    Keep breaking

    • Written by Anna H from Bath

I bought these, and i would say by far my favorite apple purchase. I always have problems with my things from apple though.
After 6 months of having these my left ear buds main speaker stopped working, went into apple and with no hassle they replaced it free.
Three months later the same thing happened to the right, went in and because it was still under a year they replaced it free.
NOW same thing happened to the left again, i dont have time for this so im just going to buy another pair.

    apple airpods

    • Written by Charlotte M from newcastle

The new apple airpods are amazing! only thing is they need a chip in them in case you lose them, you can find them easier. i lost mine a while ago and still haven’t found them, they are VERY easy to lose. Other than that would give 5 star rating.

    Wish they were water resistant

    • Written by Anna S from Charleston

Overall, I have enjoyed my first gen AirPods. Sound quality and ease of use is second to none. Also, they fit and stay in my ears better than some others I have tried. My complaint is more regarding wear and tear on them. I use mine for workouts and I sweat. Inevitably they get wet, I’m always having to clean the corrosion from the bottom contact and it’s annoying. Mine worked well for maybe the first year. Then I started having issues with them not always charging when left in the case. Then they would disconnect from my iPhone during use for no reason. A couple months back, the right one started to quit working after 40 minutes of use, even as it showed 90% charged before using. Then the left one started doing it. Now, they last about 11 minutes on a full charge.

After investigating what was wrong with them I learned that this is about the life expectancy on them...2 years. Because the battery is not accessible it can not be replaced, so you have to trash the whole thing. This seems wasteful and opposite Apples “green” plans. I would expect to have to buy a new battery and put money into them after years of use, but Apple wants us to buy a whole new set every time apparently. Just know that going in...

    Meh.

    • Written by Tayler F from Roseville

I bought them a few days ago and I’m just not feeling it, they kind of make my ears hurt and for some reason they go in and out. So I’m just going to return them and hopefully find some other wireless headphones.

Could’ve been better quality for $160

    • Written by MITCHEY F from Boynton Beach

Pros: they’re completely wireless and 15 minutes of charging will give the AirPods a full charge. I’ve had mine for about 7 months and this is the second time that the left AirPod has gone low on audio. The people at the store are very nice and do attempt to clean them (which works a little bit) and they swap them out if necessary. The volume is decent; it doesn’t go too loud though. Also, every so often, the AirPods won’t automatically connect to my phone. All in all, I wouldn’t buy them again.

I love AirPods BUT limited on sizes

    • Written by Alexa K from Huntington Beach

I love AirPods! They are amazing!! But I have very small ears and they don’t fit in my ears :(

Apple, please make 3 different sizes of the AirPods and I promise ever single person will buy them!! (Small for children and petite women, standard for the norm, and large for the gentlemen with larger earlobes!!) I promise it will be an amazing customizable headphone! And I personally think it’s the only reason everyone doesn’t own a pair or two!!!

    Nice, but

    • Written by Samia M from New Bedford

I was very exited when I first got these, but less than two weeks the inside of the case gets really dirty and there are dents on the case when I don’t remember even dropping them. The case isn’t very durable and I really hate that it gets dirty. I don’t wanna have to clean the case every single day. Also they fall out of my ears a lot but idk if it’s just the way my ears are.

    So close yet so far

    • Written by Patrick H from Newcastle Upon Tyne

The look and feel of this product is pure joy. Sometimes Apple just knock it out of the park and and they have with the airpod design, look and feel. They feel solid, the way they snap in to the case magnetically, the way the case snaps shut, the way when you opne the case lid near your phone the picture pops up on the screen showing you the battery level of both airpods and the case! The way when you put them in your ears the phone just hooks up to them automatically and the way the music stops when you take one of them out of your ear!

Sounds like a perfect product? well.... for me it isnt. The poor fit which some people just seem to be able to get away with didnt work for me, I dont understand why Apple dont provide some different types of ear tips that you can choose from? Every other earbud mnaufacturer and I mean EVERY other, give you an array of ear tips / buds to chhose from to try and ensure their product will work for every one. Apple seem to have gone with a "Well, it works for 65% of people so thats good enough for us".

The real downside to the fit its that they dont cancel out background noise. Im not talking about Active Noise Cancelling, Im talking about when ear buds expand in your ear and form a seal which blocks out back ground noise. Because they dont do that, you can hear so much external noise, you start to turn them up more and more to be able to enjoy your music without back ground noise but all you are doing is damaging your hearing.

If they'd included so changable ear buds / tips and made the case to fit them... these would have been the best True wireless earbuds on the planet. As its stands.... that title goes to the Jabra Elite Active 65t.

When They Connect To What You Want Them To Connect To They Work Great

    • Written by Robert N from Jamul

My AirPods work great, sometimes. The sound quality to me is just slightly better than the old style wired headphones that come for free with iPhones, iPods (old style), and so on. Although a feature that is not on the wireless AirPods that you could do with the old wired ones is to take a photo or start the phone video by pushing the volume up or down.

The real issue with AirPods is bluetooth. My wife has an iPhone and iPad. Her AirPods work fine for her. I have an iPhone, iPad, two Mac Book Pros, Apple TV, remote speaker, large amp for stereo, all hooked to blue tooth, not to mention several Windows computers that also have blue tooth that are on sometimes.

Sometimes when I turn on Apple TV the AirPods hook up when I set them to do so manually and sometimes automatically. Sometimes they work well. Then other times they work for a while, then connect with another blue tooth device. Flip back and forth, and so on. Ditto with iPhone and my iPad.

My workaround is to mostly use my old wired headphones for the iPad and iPhone. Apple TV???? I mostly switch to the Roku box which has a phone connector on the remote and I plus my Bose headphones into that.

Blue tooth in it's correct state is unreliable for me. I have not even bothered to pair my iPhone to my current car because of problems with the interface.

    Poor choice for families!

    • Written by Mary L from Warkworth

Not interchangeable in any way. If 2 kids mix up AirPods it is crazy trying to figure out which one belongs with which. We had the dog eat one (puppy) ordered a new one to replace but it was "incompatible" and turned out to be another generation despite almost an hour on phone trying to figure out which serial # matched. Overall disappointed teens. BUT the sound is AWESOME and so I will probably try this again....

    Not one size fits all

    • Written by Daniel L from Lakewood

This product is great as far as the features and quality are concerned. I really enjoyed using the "Hey Siri" feature, for a truly hands free/phone free experience. My only complaint is that these were not comfortable in my ears. If you are an avid user of bluetooth ear devices for talking, listening to music, podcasts, and audiobooks as I am, then these may make your ears sore and tender as they did to mine. I decided to return them in the 14 day return period for a refund due to the ear discomfort. If comfort is important, then wait for the soon to be released option from Beats.

They fall out when using in them bed

    • Written by Michael M from Andover

When I'm lying on my back in bed and watching something on my iPad these things often just fall out or dislodge (to the extent that I notice the reduced volume in that ear) if I lean my head a little to one side. I really don't think my size/shape is particularly non-normal either. Also not a great fan of the color - for me they just look too pretentious.

Airpods 2 Suffering from Overpowering Mid-bass hump problem.

    • Written by Jeffri L from Southbank

Airpods 2: Only 5hrs break in.
Comparing Sound Quality of Airpods 2 vs Airpods 1:
    Airpods 2 : Firmware Version (1A671)
Strength: Better Detail and Clarity, Better Dynamic, Separation and Soundstage
Weakness: More Clinical Sounding Stiff sounding, Midbass hump problem(Can be very tiring because overpowering inside your head).
V Shape Sound Signature with midbass hump exaggeration.

    Airpods 1:
Even though Airpods 1 sounds more Muddy each instrument seems to be more relaxed and less pronounced. But overall Airpods 1 is more musical and great for long term music listening. To my ears Airpods 1 seems to have a flatter sound signature and more balanced, without exaggeration with midbass hump problem.
I miss the more musicality of Airpods 1 with a very satisfying deep bass felt through the back of your spine rather than heard inside your head a weakness in airpods 2.

    Tracks Tried with Music Apps:
    -Take It - The Seige
    -Teamwork - Mackenzie Zeigler
    -Come Hang Out - AJR

I hope apple fix the midbass hump problem in Airpods 2 with next firmware release.

    Connection

    • Written by Dimitriy S from Homer

Love these headphones! Great sound and look amazing as well. One down fall is the connection, I have an iPhone X and a MacBook Pro and when I connect to my laptop and try to connect to my phone I can’t. I have to go into the Bluetooth section and clock connect myself. I have Bose qc35 and right when I turn them on it connects both to my laptop and phone and I can listen on my phone and laptop at the same time if I wanted to. Wish the AirPods did the same. But overall I recommend them other than the connection issue.
