Q: how to set up a new iTunes iphone backup without erasing my iphone

, so I am on the safe side.   The solutions I read to reset the iTunes encripted backup password kind of tell me I have to erase my iphone and restore it from icloud. This I a risk I don't want to incur on.   Of course I also have my appleid user and pw working ok (I thought it was the same for iTunes but looks like it is not). So if I can identify myself to apple as the legit owner, ¿isn't it a way to reset my iTunes pw for new future backups?   Thank you
