Sign in to iCloud

Choose Apple menu  > System Settings. At the top of the sidebar, click Sign In with your Apple ID. In macOS Catalina or earlier, choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, then click Sign In. Enter your Apple ID and password. When you sign in, iCloud is turned on automatically.

If you're already signed in to iCloud, you see your name at the top of the side panel or at the top of the window.

Customise your iCloud settings

Choose Apple menu  > System Settings, click your name at the top of the sidebar, then click iCloud. In macOS Catalina or earlier, choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, click Apple ID, then choose iCloud in the sidebar. Choose the apps – like Notes, Photos and iCloud Drive – that you want to use with iCloud. You may need to click Show All, Show More Apps or scroll down to see all of the options. Then click Sync This Mac or Turn on.
