I was hesitant with regard to how well the unit would perform without it being connected and whether or not it would produce the effects I am used to with the current Hue lineup. I am very pleased with the device, the battery life is very reasonable and it has some great presets too, the ambient candle/fire mode is already a favorite. It works straight out of the box and requires minimal setup when pairing with the Hue bridge. Overall I am very pleased with it.

I guess if you have $70 literally burning a hole in you pocket...

This is not a well thought out product; when charging it cannot If you have always wanted a lamp in your home which can run out of battery then you're in luck! This is not a well thought out product; when charging it cannot stand at the 45º angle shown in the pictures (arguably it's best view) without balancing on the charge cable which then comes out towards the room - or you can make it a bowl of light (Slashgear describe it as a "milky bowl", every interior designer has been asking for one of those for years) - or point it at a wall, but it's about half the power needed to really make an impact. But it's OK because once charged you can move it / position it how you'd actually like, until it goes flat - then move it back to it's charging location. WHO IS THIS PRODUCT FOR?

      Ugh, the bloody glue!!!

Some imbecile at Philips decided it would be a good idea to place a sticker on the face of the lamp. I've been trying for the last 2 hours to remove the glue re Some imbecile at Philips decided it would be a good idea to place a sticker on the face of the lamp. I've been trying for the last 2 hours to remove the glue residue and it just won't go away. If you have OCD it's not a product for you. I can already see the dust sticking to this unremovable glue. I can't even describe the product, if someone ruins the whole experience with an issue like this nothing else matters. I was planning to get more Hue devices but this is my first and last.
