      Almost Perfect Case

Although I ordered this case alongside the new 2017 iPad Pro, I've been using it throug Today, I received Logitech's new Slim Combo case for the 12.9" iPad Pro. Although I ordered this case alongside the new 2017 iPad Pro, I've been using it throughout the day with my older 2016 iPad Pro (yes, the case fits the older 12.9" iPad Pro perfectly.) DURABILITY The case itself is comprised of two pieces: a hardshell case with a hard kickstand and Apple Pencil holder that covers the rear and a front cover with a built-in keyboard. The two pieces don't connect to each other, but rather, the iPad is fitted into the hardshell case and the front cover magnetically snaps onto the side of the iPad Pro in order to connect to the Smart Connector. Overall, the case seems quite secure when the pieces are fitted properly. I have no concerns about the iPad popping out of the clamshell, but one must remember that the front cover is attached only by magnetic force. Thus, if one drops the iPad at the right angle, I wouldn't be surprised if the front cover detaches. Logitech seems to have considered this and added a slight lip on the rear clamshell to protect the screen from a flat drop. AESTHETICS As one who purchased (and immediately returned) the Logitech CREATE case for the original iPad Pro, I can say the Slim Combo is much slimmer and easier to handle while retaining much of the same functionality. It's definitely not the most beautiful or elegant of cases, however. There is a necessary (but nonetheless awkward) bump for the keyboard on the front cover. Also, Logitech opted for a weird canvas-like material on part of the front cover; this is the material that will collect white dust and particles over time. I wish Logitech used a different material, but in the end, it doesn't affect functionality in any way. Just know that this case is nowhere nearly as elegant or artistic as Apple's cases; it has much more of a business accessory vibe a la Targus bags in the 1990s. I hate to say it, but even the Microsoft Surface keyboard/case is more aesthetically pleasing than this. KEYBOARD The keyboard itself works well. It's nothing like a mechanical keyboard, of course, but it gets the job done. There is some travel to the keys even though Logitech clearly tried to make the keyboard as slim as possible. When attached to the Smart Connector, the keyboard simply works with no Bluetooth pairing or other set up needed. The iPad's Smart Connector also powers the keyboard's backlit keys, which have three brightness settings. Sadly, much of this light can be seen leaking around the borders of each key; it's by no means as well designed as the recent MacBook Pro's backlit keys, but again, considering the size and functionality, it's understandable. I had no trouble typing quickly on this keyboard. VIEWING ANGLES I've seen many people complain about a particular case because of its lack of a specific viewing angle. I'm happy to report that the Slim Combo seems to be quite flexible in terms of viewing angles thanks to its hard kickstand which I've positioned in many ways. I think Logitech intended the kickstand to have preset positions, but in my experience, I've been able to easily customize those positions because of the hardness of the kickstand. CONCLUSION Overall, I'm happy with Logitech's Slim Combo. Last year, I promptly returned the CREATE case, but this year, I think I'll keep the Slim Combo. For the price, one gets a sturdy, yet slim, case with flexible viewing angles and an integrated keyboard and Apple Pencil holder from one of Apple's top accessory partners. Pros - Logitech's slimmest keyboard case yet - Integrated Apple Pencil holder - No setup with Smart Connector - Flexible viewing angles Cons - Expensive - Bland businesslike design - Light leaking in backlit keyboard

      Best iPad Pro keyboard

Just picked one up at the local Apple store. As a early adopter of the iPad Pro 12.9" I've been using Apple's original Smart Keyboard since the day it came out. Just picked one up at the local Apple store. As a early adopter of the iPad Pro 12.9" I've been using Apple's original Smart Keyboard since the day it came out. In terms of style and aesthetics the original Apple SmartKeyboard is unmatched. But I must say that this Logitech keyboard put a smile on my face right after the first use. Writing is a pleasure compared to the Apple keyboard and your fingers don't hurt after 5 minutes of typing. Also the ability to have a secure location for your Apple Pencil makes a huge difference when you travel. The different modes for viewing, typing, and making Facetime calls is also a huge plus compared to the Apple keyboard. As someone who travels a lot for business and relies on FaceTime and Skype video conferencing I really appreciate that I can use my iPad perfectly in Portrait mode for video calls - something that was not really possible with Apple's keyboard. One thing that could be better is the ability to type while having the iPad on your lap. I feel the kickstand and the keyboard don't totally hold sturdy in that position. But overall, probably the best keyboard on the market for the iPad Pro.

Pros: *Comfortable keyboard with additional controls not available on the smart keyboard *Covers the entire iPad. My Gen 4 felt like a brick (in a good way) I could toss it around in its case and never worried. As soon as I held the 12.9, it was much thinner but also felt less ridged. I was worried about the Smart Keyboard only covering the screen. When I tried the Smart Cover in the store, my feelings were just reenforced. It's a good cover, but not for me. *Detachable Keyboard is nice for changing the weight. *Has a holder for the Pen *Makes using the iPad feel like a laptop, which is what I was hoping for. *Kickstand works well, is very adjustable. Cons: *Adds noticeable weight to the iPad *With no keyboard attached, there's no screen protection. I hope they come out with a lightweight companion cover that would fit with the back. *Wish there were other cover material options. I've always gone with "leather" styled covers and just prefer them. *I think the kickstand is held in place with magnets when closed? I wish there was more of a snapping mechanism to make sure it's not pulled open. I'm also worried about the life on the hinge. It's stiff now, but I could imagine it getting worn out with lots of use. Generally, just a really nice alternative to the Smart Keyboard. My wife loves her Logictech keyboard on her mini so much that I was pretty much ready to go for this one right away. If you want some thing a little bit closer to a laptop keyboard and more protection than the Smart Cover offers, definitely try this one out..

      Great product...

Whatever issues people have had in the past are non existent now. Best keyboard on the market for the 12.9 Pro.

Logitech Slim Combo 12.9 battery charging issue myth-busted

So I can tell you withou I’ve struggled with same issue for past 6 months. It seemed to start out of the blue. At the time it started I had the Apple Keyboard. So I can tell you without shadow of a doubt it was there before I switched keyboards. My iPad had a screen quality issue so Apple replaced it under my extended warranty plan, and I requested they change the charger and cable as well. So now I have a new adapter, cable and iPad. I had my Apple keyboard replaced as well because of know issue which Apple is expecting to roll out a new keyboard. So, new Logitech keyboard, new iPad, cable and adapter. The only thing that wasn’t change is the little do-hickey (technical term) that connects to the end of the charger to plug it into the wall plate. I replaced this with a spare I had, and seemed to be ok for a short while. Then it was back. As I sat using my iPad while it was plugged in, it kept draining the battery. So I unplugged the Logitech keyboard, but it still drained. I stopped using it and it seemed no matter what I tried it wasn’t charging. I removed the do-hikey and replaced it with a power cable from an old laptop, and it was instant magic. Charged quickly almost instantly.
