Case failed and zip broke - My Brand New MacBook Damaged

I really liked the design of this case after being recommended this when I purchased my new MacBook 8 weeks ago from Watford Apple Store by the expert in store. I really liked the design of this case after being recommended this when I purchased my new MacBook 8 weeks ago from Watford Apple Store by the expert in store. I am totally devastated and disappointed that I am now left with a damaged MacBook as a result of the zip on the case failing and resulting in the MacBook falling out of the case while carrying it. I purchased this MacBook with money left to me by my gran and to support my education. Now I am left with a case that is broken and a damaged MacBook. Apple sold me the case, but now state that this is something that I will need to pick up with the manufacturer of the case, and also the damage to the MacBook is not something they are accountable for also. From my perspective I purchased the case to protect the MacBook and this case failed to achieve this basic function. Very disappointed with Apple and their accountability of this matter. Please make sure you check with any purchase what they provide a warranty to and what they don't. As this was the case they recommended to me. I am now told if it would have been an Apple case they would have dealt with this differently - This was never mentioned on purchase. A very disappointed student. And my house insurance will only cover me for £500, and Apple say to repair my MacBook it will be over this cost. I hope they can find a suitable solution.
