  • Overview

Crafted from specially tanned and finished French leather for a luxurious look and feel, the iPhone XS Max Leather Folio fits snugly around your iPhone. Open it and your iPhone XS Max wakes up. Close it and it goes to sleep. Inside there’s a soft microfibre lining for even more protection, and space to hold your banknotes, receipts and several cards. And you can keep it on all the time, even when you’re charging wirelessly.

I was thinking about returning it but instead I decided to give it a try for a few days. Over a few days I started liking it more and more. It's still a bit bulky in the pocket, but manageable. I wouldn't put much more than a driver's license and maybe two other cards and no more than a few bills, but I'm a minimalist anyway so that doesn't bother me. The case feels great to hold, the leather is nice and soft, it smells good, and I imagine it will age well as it develops a patina from use. The only real downside is that it doesn't clasp shut. There is a magnet but it's incredibly weak and is really only good for awaking the phone when opened or putting the phone to sleep when closed, it's not effective at all as a clasping mechanism. The other downside, which doesn't have to do with form or function, is that it's incredibly expensive for what it is, but at least it really does feel super premium.

      Perfect product

As a die hard, long time Otterbox Strada folio fan I bought the apple black leather folio on the 21st Sept as a temporary measure to protect my new iPhone xs ma As a die hard, long time Otterbox Strada folio fan I bought the apple black leather folio on the 21st Sept as a temporary measure to protect my new iPhone xs max until Otterbox released a black Strada folio for this handset. However, I’m not going to be bothering swapping over as this case is just perfect. I love that it turns my iPhone off when I close the case and wakes it when I open it. The leather is butter soft and feels great in my hand, much more comfortable to hold than the Strada. The card and wallet area are more functional than the Strada’s making the case more useful when out and about. The phone surround is sturdy, protective and fits like a glove. The embossed Apple logo on the back just feels so right with this premium phone. The side buttons are made of sturdy metal and again fit & work to perfection unlike the leather ‘bumps’ on the Strada, which never bothered me until I used the superior side buttons on the Apple case. It’s worthy of the Apple name as both form and function have obviously been carefully thought through. Is it worth £129.00? Yes. A £1499.00 phone deserves a perfect case and this is it.

I love the feel of the leather. It is soft and classy looking, I have had iPhones since they first came out and until I got the X, I never dropped one. One da I love the feel of the leather. It is soft and classy looking, I have had iPhones since they first came out and until I got the X, I never dropped one. One day I tripped on some stairs and the iPhone X went flying onto the cement while in my non folio Apple leather case. It suffered a small scratch on the bottom of the screen. Point of the story is in about 10 years of holding iPhones, I only had one incident of a drop and then only had minor scratches, so do I really need to pack my beautiful $1500 iPhone xs Max in a giant rubber box which barely fits into my pocket. Probably not. Going back to my story, if I had a folio, I doubt that my X would have had any damage, so that is what I am buying for my new xs Max. You do need to treat your phone as an expensive and fragile piece of tech which it is. But this case will protect it from keys and coins which is the real and more common threat and probably from most waist high drops. But if you are dropping it from the second story of your office building, you should probably look for a military grade case. I think most drops occur when taking the iPhone out of the case and it slips. As for the case I like the supple pliability of the cover flap which you can easily fold back without covering the camera or rear speaker. Other folios have thick leather which may not be pliable enough to do this. I think it may be slightly overpriced so I did not give it 5 stars, but as folios go, I think it is the most classy and best feeling leather and has the perfect fit for the phone. I have not had a problem with the case moving and turning the phone on in my pocket that others have reported. Not sure how that happens. Also have not had the cover flap flop open unintentionally, but I could imagine it might happen if it were to drop which could be a problem. A small inconspicuous strap around the outside would prevent this if you feel you need it. I don't.

      Excellent product

I just purchased mine and it is a premium case. The fact that it turns the phone off is a plus in terms of saving battery power. Very elegant...
