No. The MacBook with Retina display is not equipped with a thunderbolt port. (it's only USB-C with support for Displayport and HDMI alternate modes)
The Thunderbolt display can in no way (not even with an adapter) be connected to the MacBook 12"
(Note: this is for early 2015 and early 2016 models of the MacBook Retina 12", future versions of this notebook could include other connectivity options.)- Answered by Maarten O

No. 2015/2016 MacBook has no Thunderbolt controller. The Thunderbolt Display requires a Thunderbolt controller in the computer.

No. The 12" MacBook does not support Thunderbolt at all. Source: apple support document HT207266 "About the compatibility of the Apple Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter".
