Is the audio streamed ( from iDevices to AirPods) in an uncompressed way or it gets compressed again before being streamed to the AirPods?

  • All of this audio streaming is done using Bluetooth technology, that is, compressed only. I have not heard of any Bluetooth device that delivers audio in an uncompressed way, as such it really can only be improved based on the compression codecs used. Compression may be customised (but nobody except Apple knows if they did or not), or just the usual A2DP. Don't expect something like apt-X or LDAP being implement though.
